Opening for discussion.
I don't like the suggestion, though. There's nothing in the image to suggest that it's anything but garden-variety, albeit brutal, beating. Just being tied to the bed doesn't even imply "cursed" or "possessed".

I was hoping this page
of Dr Mc Ninja would yield something, but it really doesn't. Maybe the top right panel, along with the center panel on the second line?
