[up]Add to that it was primarily the girls that were keeping him up in the first place. They still considered the Sandman the selfish one of the feud, despite all he wanted was to keep them out of the way until he finally took a nap.

@Napoleon, fair point. I haven't seen many Marvin cartoons and wasn't really thinking about him.

I always felt bad for the hawk in the Powerpuff Girls episode where they give a squirrel superpowers with chemical x; the hawk really was just trying to eat.

Elmer's remorse varied from cartoon to cartoon; sometimes, yeah, he's sorry he "killed" bugs (when Bugs pretends to be a ghost) other times he seems to understand his actions entirely. I know, it depends on whats funny given the situation.

Waspinator.

Rampage because I'm willing to bet the scientists who created him tested the indestructibility of his spark. Which means they were probably dissecting his soul.

@Aldo: I haven't seen the episode in a while, was it mentioned whether he intended to keep everyone asleep forever or not?

@Robbery: While I didn't exactly root against Tweety defending himself, I admit it similarly felt a bit skewed when everyone in the cartoon would gang up on Sylvester and tell him how evil and loathsome he was for trying to eat a poor bird. Give him something other than trash to eat then. Then again there's some Truth in Television in this. My mother almost wished death on a neighbour's cat for attacking a bird in her garden. And who hasn't watched a nature documentary and wished someone stopped the predator.

I also have to admit with the page for "Canned Feud" in that it's perhaps the most mean spirited Looney Tunes short ever made.

While an adaptation of a book, the Redwall cartoon changed enough about Sela's arc I think I can count her here.

In theory, she's not that sympathetic; she's a doctor for hire who heals the villains broken leg, but also steals his battle plans and gives them to the Redwallers...then she and her son start stealing the silverware.

They're caught by Methuselah, an elderly mouse and one of the most respected figures in all of Redwall, and her son clocks him with their bag of loot, to which even she seems horrified. And when the rest of Redwall catches on, her son escapes, but she gets captured.

So, they've got a gravely injured old mouse and a doctor with nothing to gain by betraying them again and had no part in his injury. And, you know, still gave them the battle plans. So what do our pure paragons of virtue do? Simple, they have her tossed out and murdered by the warlord at their front gate. Cue the "Everybody Laughs" Ending. >_<#

I always felt sorry for Starscream from Transformers Prime. He wasn't as openly narcissistic and disloyal as G1 Starscream, or as strong and independent as Animated Starscream. He was ambitious, cowardly, selfish, and petty as hell, but he had little moments of decency and even loyalty.

Prime Starscream's a bureaucrat trying to make it in a society that prizes personal strength above all. He's the second in command of an army where the commander in chief is a super-strong lunatic who's sane enough to win battles, but crazy enough to try and resurrect the robot devil or throw his soldiers off of the spaceship in a tantrum.

While Starscream is a dick, he's also the one who keeps the Decepticon army going, and he's largely unappreciated for the work he does. And even when he starts to get a handle on things, the rug gets pulled from under his feet, and all his work comes to nothing.

It's hard to hate someone or something that's following it's essential nature. One can be horrified by it, though. It's been said that true horror follows from the realization that the universe does not conform to your prejudices.

I think it was just a Genre Blind joke that ended up a lot crueller in execution (in fairness, you wouldn't expect someone to be brainwashed into doing evil just by bleach). I heard somewhere the ending was a result of Executive Meddling.

Rainbow did at least appear happy and free in a later episode I guess.

The impression I got was at the end the girls weren't buying he had been not in control of himself, and that his happy outburst after being freed was some attempt to bail punishment. The whole matter was probably cleared up afterwards.

Unalaq and Kuvira before they were derailed into mustache twirling supervillains by the writers.

Kuivira: Before all the random Kick the Dog moments and after her Freudian Excuse of her abandonment issues, it is clear that she became a dictator as a means to protect her people. And with said abandonment problems, I really see her karmatic fate in the end a bit cruel since she has been spending all that time not wanting to be alone.

Nox: Honestly he is the one villain I actually want to succeed seeing how he wants to prevent a mistake he made in the past from occurring. His fate was just as cruel as Kuivira.

From Ender's Game, Colonel Graff and the rest of the IF commanders. Sure, their manipulation of Ender and extermination of the Formics were not cool, but they did what they thought they had to do, as there was no reason to suspect that the Formics wouldn't invade a third time. They were Knight Templars who did what they though was a service to Earth and humanity.

Bushroot from Darkwing Duck. All the guy wanted was to share his experiments with plants to the world, only to be messed with those who made fun of him. Poor guy.

Lady Swanpride, lately lots of threads seem to actually forget that they are supposed to be about western animation, and talk about Anime or Live Action for pages and pages with no end in sight in the Western Animation section. Lets not contribute to that trend and keep Live Action and Film to their sections, please.

Also Miss 93, while I do understand why you feel so strongly, I dont undertstand why you side with the equalist, wouldnt actually trying to make people treat each other better despite being different better. I think I saw you on the Dethroning Moment Of Suck page on this very issue and you were bit more vocal there. Sure, Its pretty painful that everyone preaches that you should be unique and different and then mistreat you and shun you for being unique and different, but its pretty extreme to try and just deny any difference.I dont know but it seems more bullylike and cruel to me.

[up]Whoa, whoa whoa….I never said that I sided with Starlight Glimmer completely. That was only one scene that I mentioned! I think Starlight Glimmer is a nutcase because of the fact that she locks people in a room and tries to brainwash them to get them to see things her way. She’s one of those villains who should never ever accomplish their goals. Plus, she’s kind of a hypocrite anyway, and I normally hate hypocrites. I just felt that some of her points were valid and because unlike the other arc villains in this show, she’s actually very realistic. I do agree when Starlight says that some people do act like they are better than others, because that shit happens in real life too. People always get picked on for being different all the time by people like the one she’s referring to, and I’m pretty sure that’s why she wants things to be the same. The only problem is that she’s twisted in the head.
