So the trope Barefoot Suicide was just launched and I think a visual aide focusing on the shoes would be helpful. Got any ideas?

The first thing that comes to mind would be screencaps from James Blunt's video for "You're Beautiful" showing him taking his shoes off and then right as he jumps off the ledge at the end...it's a subversion, but pending a better idea the imagery seems like it might work well enough.

Very dark, and the bare feet are just barely visible. That's about the only detail that needs more light, though, as the rest is clear.

It's supposed to be dark since her room is dark, but on my monitor she's still clearly visible.

It's not that she's not visible, it's that it's not visible that she's barefoot. And if it's sunny outside my window, nothing is clearly visible.

Well, if you want to try brightening it, that's fine.

I don't know, the way the feet are hanging the shoes could have just slipped off if they were loose or a murder by hanging.

The ideal image would be less 'suicide' and more 'about to commit suicide'.

How often do shoes "just slip off"?

If they were sandals every single time, yeah it sounded better in my head. But still it's not clear it was a suicide.

[up]I kinda have to agree. I feel that although it is a suicide there exists the possibility that someone killed her that way (by pushing her off an offscreen high edge with the noose in place) and Made It Look Like A Suicide.

Are there any other suggestions?

Honestly, I think the image for Driven to Suicide is perfect for this. Since Driven to Suicide is incredibly broad, I think it'd be easier to find a replacement for it.

Enough to kinda-sorta have a trope.

[up][up] I think the middle one was used for Wide-Eyed Idealist.

But hey if we start using the Driven For Suicide image for the page then okay, then

I don't see much to work with. Let's find more suitable examples for Driven to Suicide.

[up] Um, this isn't for Driven to Suicide, this is for Barefoot Suicide. The one from Driven to Suicide is an option.

So far it sounds like the image I suggested was the only one brought up in here, and some would rather have it be brightened.

Well I'm still wondering if we should attach a crowner to this

How is this? Found it on another website and after looking up its origin I really wish I hadn't actually looked it up, but the image is perfect IMO.

It's a pair of shoes left on a roof.

It's a pair of shoes left in a position that strongly implies the former occupant has jumped off.

Its not incidental falling off after death, like the other one, they literally had to have been left their symbolically as they jumped. That is the trope.

There is a before the jump picture but really with such a subject as this the shoes alone are enough.
