All right, after unlocking alternate title screens in 8DX, I have 60% battery. Now charging on 5V 2A. BRB after... say, 20-30 minutes.
edit: After 30 minutes (~ the 47th minute of the previous hour) I have 81%. So 21% per half hour which isn't too bad.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I've yet to have any major issues with my switch
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeMine has worked like a charm besides some minor issues getting the dock to connect the first time.
Never be normal.Could anyone refresh me on what Switch bundles are currently available, if any? Or a list of bundles to be released in the future?
As empty as the stocks may likely be, I'd still like to plan ahead and get a bundle for my buck. And maybe some uniqueness too while I'm at it.
What region are you in?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!North America. I hear the Splatoon bundle's existence here is in question.
The only issue I've had with mine is that the left joycon sometimes lags slightly, but I think that's mainly because my console is placed halfway behind the tv.
Reaction Image RepositoryUnreal Engine 4.16 features full native support for the Switch.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!So I picked up Disgaea 5. Having never played any of the past series and my experience with tactical RP Gs being limited to Final Fantasy Tactics and the newer Fire Emblems, anyone have any tips?
Prepare for an epic grind. The Disgaea series is all about grinding and giving you a bunch of different ways to do it and a bunch of different things to grind for. Also prepare for a crazy plot that doesn't take itself seriously half the time.
For the record, the level cap is 9,999, I do believe.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yes, that 9,999 level cap is a back of the box bullet point. That is absurdly high. Presumably you don't have to be anywhere near that point for the end game, and/or there's some truly epic level inflation involved.
That's not all. There's also level-resetting (I don't know if the newer games do this. It was a thing back in Disgaea 1) where you reset a character back to level 1, but with higher stats. This can be done multiple times. In which case if you want to ever reach "max" level with "max" stats (I don't know if anyone's ever achieved this), you're gonna have to grind several thousand levels more than once.
If I remember what I heard correctly, you'll either be in the upper 100s or lower 200s by the time you beat the game with the normal amount of grinding.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I think I should note that with the Disgaea games, the story is half there to prepare you for the actual meat of the game: the post-game.
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownI will say these types of games (tactical and older style traditional JRP Gs) have always felt to me like they're particularly well suited for portable gaming. I really hope we get more of this kind of thing for the Switch.
While we're at it, would anyone know what level you need to be at to complete the special content maps? Wanna recruit the D1 and 2 characters but they might be a post-game thing, I dunno (just got started on my file).

By what I can tell, the DLC scales with whatever chapter you're on so just play up to the last mission of your chapter and then give it a shot. Worst that can happen is you get wiped but I don't think that's a big deal in Disgaea.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I've only game overed once so far in D5, and that was for a alternate ending, so I can't tell you what the standard result of a game over is.
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownAwesome, thanks.
Mmm, can't see myself getting wiped in this game, but then my general goal for Disgaea is to be as overpowered as possible.
Well, as long as you can't completely screw yourself over in this game by going and getting all your best party members permakilled like you can in Fire Emblem, I think I'll be alright.
To be fair, in the last two or three FE games (not sure about Shadows of Valencia), you can turn that option off.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yeah for context in the first game, the final boss of the storyline was something like level 90.
I need to get around to picking up D5; I've played all the others (though I haven't beaten them all; I should get around to that).
Reaction Image RepositoryI game overed once in Disgaea 2 DHD by voting in Etna to become the main character. I actually thought it would unlock an alternate storyline.
Yep, we can turn off permadeath in Echoes. No Phoenix mode though.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I know the option can be turned off in Fire Emblem (I had been playing through Fates that way, and I really should restart my Awakening file with it on too), but my point was that it's kind of the "default" way to play the game.
Anyhow from what you guys have been saying, it sounds like it's fairly difficult to even get a game over in Disgaea as long as you know what you're doing and have grinded enough.

I've had mine for a while now with no major problems. Even the screen is still scratch and (relatively) dirt free.
I've said it once and I'll say it again - I wonder how many of those problems really were widespread at launch, and how much of it was just standard launch issues and/or people being more rough with the console than they were admitting, paired with the vocal minority making their voices heard.
