I know there was a recent live stream of the 1985 version on here recently. Perhaps I should watch it if they show it again.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Who here has read any of the Godzilla IDW Comics? I just read the Godzilla In Hell comic last night. It was interesting and really surreal. Including a scene where Godzilla encounters a demon who's basically Cthulu in all but name.
No, I haven't; was it good?
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!I've only read two of the Godzilla IDW comic's. The one I can't remember the name of was alright, but I actually really enjoyed Godzilla In Hell despite the odd premise. It's one of the only times where the story is entirely from Godzilla's view point, so there isn't very much dialouge, but it also means there's no boring human characters either {Mind you I do like some of the human characters in the franchise, but the vast majority of them are really bland}. But it's a fairly unique Godzilla story too, and a surreal one at that. I'd certainly reccomend it.
Huh Shin-Chan . Gods that takes me back, Used to air all the time when I was a kid, parents HATED it.
Godzilla's Atomic Breath is purple, it seems,

I'm still not digging the new look. He looks like something that Junji Ito would come up with. While it would be great for a production with a more surrealistic style and/or theme throughout, it seems out of place here.

It's actually based on one of the prototype designs of the original 1954 gojira.
I like it, it feels like he's actually a radiation victim in terms of looks.
Watch SymphogearWell that I understand, but did they have to give him a face that looks like it came from a Rob Zombie cartoon?
Spoilers are out for the film, and there's a reason he looks the way he does:
Turns out the whole mutating over the course of the film that was proposed earlier this year is actually true. He's basically not an ancient dinosaur at all, but starts off as a small tadpole like lizard that assimilates everything in its path as it eventually becomes the godzilla we see in the trailers.
Yeah.....I'm interested and want to see how it plays out myself once it hits american theaters.
Watch SymphogearDamn. That sounds cool.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?He even assimilates humans, and the corpses he absorbs start gaining Godzilla like back spines and start to break off him at the end of the film.
Watch SymphogearShit, now I wanna see this even more!
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?So this has been a reimagining all along.

Well it sounds distinctly like something Anno would do.
When does it come out in the States?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Late 2016 is all thats been given, so far.
Watch SymphogearThat's certainly an interesting take on the Big G. I was briefly worried that it might be too much of a deviation from the usual Godzilla mythos, but then I remembered how GMK made Godzilla into an undead Animalistic Abomination possessed by the vengeful dead of WWII's Pacific Theatre.
So that second trailer music is more or less a "Gollum's Song"-style Villain Song for Godzilla. Plays in the sequence where Godzilla first really unleashes atomic breath against the military alongside the new beam-spamming trick.

oh the ost is out? i've been anticipating that since the songs from the trailers were kind of amazing.
.....I'm pretty sure I'm the minority here, but I think the new Godzilla looks like one big, ugly penis in a farther shot.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.
^That's what happens when a movie has never been properly released in the US. I just happend to have seen the original cut twice back when youtube use to have it a decade ago. Now I can actually buy the movie and watch it again, which I am happy about.
