Does Not Illustrate: Transformation Sequence

I know this image have been here for some time already, but after giving it a long, hard look, I realized it isn't a very good illustration. It could be some weird form of Battle Aura or other power-up, but the transformation part isn't really implied.

Some sequential pictures would be a much better deal; at least 3 to show "before", "after," and "during". In fact, the picture on Transformation Trinket would be a better illustration.

So, a possible suggestion is to switch the one on Transformation Trinket to Transformation Sequence, and find another one for the former, like this picture.

Or we can just find a new one for Transformation Sequence, for example...

For an excess of picture, there's this one, too bad it would be too small at Wiki size.

Opened; I'll have to look at the suggestions later, but the current is completely reliant on the caption and needs to go.

It might be better on Transformation Is a Free Action, it looks quite like that trope, while that one is a poor edit job of 'transformation sequences are long' and not free action.

Although Suite Precure's bad guys watching the transformation sequence on TV or Smile Precure's bad guy playing Rock–Paper–Scissors with a transformation sequence might be better for it, hmm. EDIT: The former does not have a good shot, but the latter does [1][2][3]

I like Transformation Trinket though where it is, it shows the fact that the trinket is the cause of transforming very well. Although that sequence shows pretty much everything stereotypical about sequences [4].

This one may be long but it shows pretty much everything about a stereotypical transformation sequence except for Transformation Name Announcement, subs slightly misalign with good poses sadly included 6 since it does show the Power Dyes Your Hair aspect of Transformation Sequence, it could be cut down a lot but the longer might be better for a joke.

[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

EDIT: One with subs, includes By the Power of Grayskull! and Transformation Name Announcement [8][9][10][11] no hair color change.

I think the one on Transformation Is a Free Action is pretty good (and funny) as it is, no need to change this one.

As for Transformation Sequence, the first suggestion in 4 could be used for a nice collage... I'd suggest dropping 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6 as not necessary; 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.7 in succession would look good if we can manage a not-too-big picture.

Also, note that the trope isn't exactly limited to Magical Girls as I understand it (lycanthropes or Digimon or a One-Winged Angel can have nice sequence too), though of course they are the most iconic.

1.1 and 1.2 seem to be a collection of transformation screenshots from different sources, and it doesn't really show the sequence. 1.3 is poor quality. I can't see the suggestions in 4 because IM Gur is blocked here.

Here's my suggestion. Not from a work, but I think it's good to show something other than a Magical Girl transformation to show that the trope is not limited to that particular setting.

[up][up] I have always thought that this really needed to be split because they are so different. Magical Girl Transformations are so specific with specific tropes used compared to everyone else alongside how different mech transformation sequences are usually very different too in a moving parts kind of way and they even have specific laws for mech transformations. But really if we stick with the whole thing as one we should probably stick with Magical Girl.

[up] Not this trope, that is more of a Shapeshifter Transformation or something but it's not quite a sequence.

[up][up][up] Edited those you listed together. The other one as well, although I probably should have grabbed it without subs, I can do that though.

[up] That one works pretty well, though we could probably drop the second or third image to make room.

The description is long enough that the 4-panel version would fit with no problems...I'm inclined to keep it as is.

For a caption we could use their By the Power of Grayskull! "Let's Play Precure Modulation", said completely in English or their Team Transformation Name Announcement "Resonate! Our musical suite! Suite Precure! *Shing*"

A video of the sequence for reference.

Vote no; an image that tall does not even fit on my laptop screen all at once. It is not a good page image. If it were 2x2, it would be less than half the height.

Well Transformation Sequences are stereotypically way too long soo long images fit. Seen some that are over 5 minutes long.

here is is 275 pix wide instead of 300.

I'd be fine with either version. It does feel fitting, in a way, to have to scroll through the parts of an image depicting a drawn-out spectacle, but if the smaller version draws fewer complaints, it will do.

I approve of 14 too. It isn't too big while keeping enough of the many extraneous details that clutter the typical transformation. The 4 panels express well the length, too.

So going back to post 12, a caption?

I was thinking of using their By the Power of Grayskull! "Let's Play Precure Modulation", said completely in English or their Team Transformation Name Announcement "Resonate! Our musical suite! Suite Precure! *Shing*"

[up]I'm not too sure about the need of a caption with this one, and even if we put one we should avoid anything that make sense only to someone familiar with the show.

I was more trying to point out the other transformation tropes used in it IE By The Powerof Grayskull, Transformation Name Announcement, In the Name of the Moon, Frills of Justice and the other 50 tropes used in it.

"Resonate! Our musical suite! Suite Precure! *Shing*" only makes sense to someone familiar with the show. It would be meaningless without a pothole, and using potholes that way is bad style.
