Except for the part where they backstab and murder their employers, I could see canon Tagon going for it.
Obligatory link to that time Tagon's Toughs got paid five times for one job. It's always weird going back years in a webcomic and seeing how crap the art used to be.
And now it makes sense why Robo trained with Bruce Lee that one time.
My various fanfics. It is common in Atomic Robo.
Safety? Who has time for safety? We have SCIENCE(!) to get to, people! There is progress to be made!
Hey, I'm re-reading the Ring of Fire and I'm wondering something.
Exactly what did Robo mean when he said "The near extinction of humankind will not play well during election season."?
I'd guess the political backlash from Task Force ULTRA's botched attempt at fighting the Biomega, which (when contrasted with Robo's successful attempt) would help him out of his Majestic-12-cultivated status as a Hero with Bad Publicity.

"I've come to the conclusion that this is a very stupid idea."- Robo had hoped to join forces with the pirates of Ghost City, but they had other ideas, namely selling Robo to Matsuda and his men.
- However, the pirates' terms are too much, even for Matsuda, so the pirates go trigger happy. Matsuda was not amused and activated his Super Saiyan form.
- Meanwhile, Robo's friends get the hint that Robo's around and duking it with Matsuda. So Robo's friends pull an old jail trick to get out. And then, Russians. Followed by something weird.
- That weird thing happens to be Matsuda's men mastering the art of grabbing the Russian's missiles and chucking them back to Russians. Meanwhile, Robo's not doing so hot and the pirates come up with another last-minute scheme and it just might blow up in the faces.
Then, on Issue #5:
- Robo's friends find an important looking place and Helen rains two-gunned hell on the guards, much to Dr. Lu's chagrin. Helen and Chen inevitably split up from Dr. Lu.
- The pirates are recovering from their little stunt from earlier and Matsuda has unlocked Super Ultra Saiyan Mode. With its very own healing factor and portal-making abilities!
- Dr. Lu is hard at work safely dismantling Matsuda's device and the pirates want a new gang leader, while Matsuda starts speaking...weird.
- Helen and Chen keep going while noting how they haven't seen any guards and Matsuda is still speaking weird and is still thinking with portals. Meanwhile, Helen and Chen found the garage, and something else.
- Finally, Dr. Lu is hoping what he's doing is what he wants to do and we may have another Enemy Mine attempt in the works.
Man, isn't this comic great?
I think the problem with this arc, as fun as it's been, is that we know Robo wins because it's set in the 40s. So most of the plot is Robo going NYYYEAH THAT'S NOT SCIENCE or some variant therein, and our emotional investment has to therefore rest on Robo's ex and an assortment of "wacky Asians", including her new boyfriend, who most certainly won't die tragically.
My various fanfics.Does anyone know what "incorporeal" means?
Turns out "incorporeal" means "not composed of matter." Go figure.
I had a thought. What about Ghost Edison? Is he in a similar state, if less powerful?
Do we get Matsuda and Edison Ghost Teamup?

"You can reply to this Message!"Depends on what happens to Matsuda here.
Speaking of, The BFG's not very effective, but what Dr. Lu does here might be...
Honestly, although they're both green and glowing and incorporoeal, they're otherwise pretty dissimilar. Edison doesn't have the... expanded viewpoint, and he's a lot more solid-looking, post Zorth axis trap.
And in the end, nothing was accomplished except for the temporary delay of the destruction of all reality.
My various fanfics.More importantly, Robo met up with his ex and the Ghost Bandits got like half a fortune.
And they're all long dead.
My various fanfics. Not necessarily. They could still be doddering about surrounded by grandchildren like that one Flying She-Devil.
Also, "at some future point all these characters will have expired" applies to 99% of all stories.
This sounds like a plan Kaff Tagon would come up, if he didn't have a conscience.
