PM System improvement

Let\'s face it, the PM system has a fair bit of room for improvement.

• We can\'t preview our messages, and can\'t edit them after sending which means we\'re sending them blind.
• The little window where we can read messages is small, narrow, claustrophobic. Anything long becomes very tedious to read.
• We can\'t see the discussion history in one go: we need to open every mail separately. In long conversations, things can become confusing and it can be easy to lose track of stuff, especially since the boxes are so small.

So, I think we need:

• Preview before sending.
• Much larger space for reading.
• Being able to see the whole conversation with another troper in one go.
• It would also be nice if we could CC and FWD things.

What is CC and FWD?

Carbon copy and forward. Like in an email system.

The PM system is not intended to be robust. If you consider the functionality of the wiki, reviews, liveblogs, forums, YKTTW, mod tools, and so forth, it ranks about tenth as far as development priorities go.

Yeah, but since we're doing an overhaul of everything, I thought that was one of the things that could get a bit nicer.

PM's are important for the wiki's mission, be it to communicate directly with admins and mods or to resolve questions between editors. I think everyone would benefit from them being more "robust", as Fighteer put it, and more comfy to use.

As a matter of fact, I have no complaints regarding any of the systems you cited except for PM's. It's the only feature in this wiki that still causes me grief and frustration.
