Suggestion: The Pirates Who Dont Do Anything

This trope was the first thing I thought of when I saw the image◊.

The current works, but at the same time the dissonance in the suggestion is very funny.

I must echo Willbyr's statement.

i wanted it to be something One Piece related at first, but that image is perfrct.

I don't know. It's not specifically about pirates, but any Informed Occupation.

The suggestion is funny enough to overrule that objection, IMO.

I like the idea of the image, but I would want one that doesn't look like a photo of a piece of paper.

If we can't find one already made, I can try to clean one up.

I'd honestly prefer an image that doesn't use pirates. The title, page quote, and the first paragraph of the description are all already about pirates when the trope doesn't actually have anything to do with piracy, specifically, outside of the Trope Namer. The suggested image is overloading it a bit.

If we did use it, I'd at least like to change the page quote to not be about pirates. Perhaps the "Four Gregs" one from the Quotes page.

Could also edit the first paragraph. What I could see is creating a "world" full of people who don't do their jobs. Something like

That's a good first paragraph.

I bet some high percentage of articles start with the word "so". Would rewrite to "She's a teacher, but no one ever sees her in a classroom or grading tests. Her best friend is a butcher..." I dunno, though. "You've entered a world of The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything"? I like what's on the page better.

I agree with #18 that the page quote should be changed to something that isn't about pirates.

Well, it is just an example. The point is just to have the opening paragraph describe something other than pirates. Specific things you don't like can always be replaced with something better.
