NOTE - Report bugs along with your browser/version, operating system/version, and device. There are thousands of these combinations, and most bugs right now only affect certain combinations.
Tropers - As you are probably well aware by now, we've made a ton of changes to TV Tropes. Although most of the changes you see are primarily cosmetic, we are also part way through a complete overhaul of the backend code. With so many changes under the hood, it is entirely possible we broke a few things. If you find something that does not appear to be working correctly, this is the place to report it.
Please note, this thread is for BUGS only! If you have an idea, wish, or anything to say that is not related to a bug, please do not post it here. Those things can all be posted and discussed on other threads in Wiki Talk or the Tech Wishlist.
The more information you can provide about the bug (e.g., browser, operating system, etc.) and how to re-create it, the more likely we will be able to squash it.
Happy Troping!
EDIT: Here are some things that have been reported:
- Login issues
- Logins not sticking between devices
- Some people are still having issues with dropped logins.
- You can't log in if your username contains a space. Remove the space.
- Javascript: Your device must be able to run Javascript from tvtropes.org, static.tvtropes.org, ajax.googleapis.com, and netdna.bootstrapcdn.com. If you are blocking any of these, lots of things won't work, like editing pages.

The image uploader automatically crops images. I just uploaded this image. It had a border on all 4 sides, but after uploading, the right border was taken off. In addition, the uploader dialog box didn't scale properly on my screen, and I had to zoom out just to see the bottom. I was never crazy about this new cropping feature, especially since I take care of that before uploading. Is there any way so that images aren't automatically sent to go to the cropping block, but that could still be an option for those who don't have the capability?
@Septimus Heap Yes, as a matter of fact, clearing my cache as well as cookies, temporary internet files, and all that jazz are something I do every night before I shut my computer down, though the issue still persists. As I pointed out previous, I am able to get around it by right-clicking and selecting 'Open'.
For a repeat of the pertinent information: Windows 7, IE 10, laptop.
Not to be snarky, but who doesn't have that capability? Who is accessing the site from a device so basic it can't crop images—and if their device is that rudimentary, why (and how) are they uploading images from it?
I mean, hell, even Windows 95 had Paint.
I cannot imagine a device advanced enough to upload images but not advanced enough to crop them.
I'd be in favor of just nixing the site's cropping "feature", if it were up for discussion. It's a hiccupy pop-up annoyance that serves no purpose for me because, as you said, I crop stuff before uploading it.
Hello,
Many of the sub-pages in The Blob are gone. I can see the links and descriptions when searching, but when I click on them, they're empty, claiming that the page doesn't exists.
Srg. Dornan: Troper, what are you doing here?! Get back to your post!!!They've been cut after their examples were split into work-specific subpages.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSomething else: The markup that the Media Uploader offers after an upload needs its pixel number limited to 350px. Otherwise, the auto-resizer will distort the image relative to the caption when it's posted in the wiki. There have been a number of complaints about images breaking because of this.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo when I visit this page on the mobile site all I see is the post itself and nothing above it such as the forum bars or thread title.
It does this on more than a few pages, but only on forum posts with only 1 post in it.

Spoilers are now hidden regardless of the setting for spoilers in a person's account. Also, page load errors result in a large lampshade appearing on my screen, so that almost every time I go to a new page on TVT I have to hit F5 to force a reload of the page to get it to display right.
Somehow the mobile site was disabled without me clicking to use the desktop site.
There doesn't seem to be a way to force it into the mobile site either.
(Chrome on an S5.)
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I've found that spoilers sometimes disappear if you open and close a spoilered note (opening and closing the note again seems to fix it).
EDIT: Oh, silly me.

TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerThat is a new feature really, if you want to hide or reveal a spoiler just click it.
The CSS for the mobile version of the site contains the rule .forumAuthImage{ width: 75px; height: auto; } which causes vertical stretching of narrow avatars. For example, a 1 x 100 line looks like this◊ (for reference, that's the latest post in the thread as of that screencap).
Site creases, randomly on iPhone 3GS Model to the point I have To write my stuff on the notes app before posting on a thread.
Seems to be a memory issue as if something is leeching it. The screen also "blinks" during posting.

Forgiveness is beyond justice, faith is superior than hope, redemption is better than perfection and love is greater than them all.I'm having a lot of this too. I thought it was just Firefox though.
&
This is also happening to me on Safari. The page never stays up long enough for me to actually make a post.
I live in a constant state of fear and misery. What RPG Legend said, but with Iphone 4S. I think there might be a compatibility error with Io S 8

To add to the iOS input, I just upgraded from a 4s to a 6 and am having the same troubles I had before, so it seems to be an iOS thing rather than phone specific.
My problems seem to pop up mainly in Ask The Tropers - something about that page does not agree with iOS at all. If I try to reply to threads or search them, it crashes and reloads the page. Yet I AM able to type this reply no problem.
So in this thread https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=1424809755034056400&page=6#142
When I attempt to open the folders in post 144 it instead opens the folders in post 142. On an iPhone 6 btw.
You mean notes note ? This is a long standing bug: notes are identified by their content, so that identical notes within any page (wiki, forum, whatever) will cause only the first to work.
Clicking on this note will open the one above it: note
It has nothing to do with the code redesign and will hopefully be fixed at some point. (The simple way is to give each note a unique content tag, but I am not an HTML coder so I can't contribute to a solution.)

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"No, folders.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNah I mean the literal folders that were copied over from the main page, I click one of the 3 Film ones in post 144 and they open the respective one of the Fan works folders in post 142.

I wasn't even aware that folder markup worked in the forums, but if it does, it would be a related issue.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Folder markup used to put a black border around the content on the fora, but since the redesign it works for actual folders.
@Septimus Heap
I'll try clearing my cache. I don't believe I have a script blocker enabled, but I'll check.
As soon as I find out how.
