Sacrificial Planet doesn't have an image. I think Unicron eating Lithone from the intro of Transformers The Movie would work well, perhaps with the caption "Unicron enjoys an early movie snack".

A bit hard to see. Not a fan of it. A larger size might be better.

Showing a planet in the process of being harmed/destructed doesn't cut it, does it? We probably have another trope for that.

We have Planet Eater and Earth-Shattering Kaboom. I don't think the suggestion here (especially when paired with the caption) looks too much like Planet Eater.

3 is good enough. Is there a suggestion that's better enough?

Looked small on phone. Looks better on computer. I change my opinion. It looks good enough.

Suggestion still looks more like Planet Eater to me. Nothing in that pic indicates that the monster has already obliterated another planet before targeting Earth.

First thing that comes to mind is this. Would be better to have the original screenshot, though, but I can't remember where the original scene is, so I can't locate it.

I'm not very fond of the Transformers image, mainly because it doesn't LOOK like a planet - the only reason I would even suspect that it is one is what page we are talking about.

Maybe we could do a montage of the planets being destroyed in the opening credits of Men in Black II.

Alderaan from Star Wars A New Hope. The dialogue tells pretty well how sacrificial the planet is.

There's also Desparye from The Extended Universe:

Alderan's a bit too plot relevant to be a good example; if anything, it might be more plot relevant than Yavin IV, aka the planet that's actually saved by destroying the Death Star.

What does plot relevance have to do with the trope? The fact remains that Alderaan was sacrificed because the Empire could.

The second sentence of the description says that. Alderaan is not a Sacrificial Planet.

Well, it needs to be removed from the examples then.

What about the 2nd pic though?

I like it, but it would benefit a lot from a good caption.

Indeed. I found the pic on GIS, but I known nothing of the context. I'll try to find some.

The second suggestion is 9, yes?

Sorry, should've clarified. I meant my 2nd suggestion, the art of the Death Star blowing up a planet. It isn't Alderaan, but a planet from the expanded universe. I need to find some context on the pic though.
