It's not a mathematical thing. I felt the details of the image weren't discernible enough in 11.

I don't think 11 is too small.

I have to agree; the details of his face seem muddy in the version in 11 but stand out more in the compromise version in 24.

To provide a fresh perspective, I think that the image in 24 is a good one to use as it is not a portrayal of Flagg that's more or less specific to The Stand and it's a pretty good size. Caption-wise, the quote of him saying that he's the devil works as well for the same reason. It's a very apt description of Flagg as he is in every one of King's books that he shows up in.

I'll agree that size-wize #24 is the best one so far.

Any of them is better than none of them.

So it already seems to be a lock for Randall Flagg. If so there's a slight majority for the middle solution.

• #9 (350px × 537px): Unanimous concensus that it's too big.
• #11 (228px × 350px): ACW (?), Rodney Anonymous, Another Duck (later changed to "any of them")
• #24 (275px × 452px): Shadow Hog, Willbyr, Mother of Tides, Morgenthaler

That's not a logical conclusion. I still prefer the same one.

So, um...what's the status?

Apparently still at a deadlock on which size to use...tempted to put my foot down on one or the other just to get this thread over with.

Anyone got any good quotes?

This thread's going nowhere. I've put up the 275px version and tagged the page; if anyone comes up with a good line that could work as a caption, suggest it in the repair thread. Locking up.
