Er... what's the problem with that? The size of a page is just a result of how many people are willing to put an effort into finding tropes for it. Obviously if some of the tropes are shoehorns (which sounds like a possibility with the background characters) they should be removed, but it's not like there's any maximum number of tropes allowed for any one character. There's a size limit, of course, and if they're hitting it they should be split, but that's not the same thing as needing "cleaning up".
Unless there are a lot of Zero Context Examples, or problems with shoehorning, there's no problem with having a lot of tropes.

Check out my fanfiction!Yeah, "a character/work has a lot of examples" is not a problem at all. Main character vs. minor character status also don't matter here.
Now, if a lot of examples are ZCE or misused, that constitutes a problem - see the various threads in Long Term Projects for places to raise such issues.

We've gotten to the point where the characters page for Friendship is Magic has become insanely bloated, and by "bloated", I mean "every main charcter has there own page the size of an actual tropes page for a work, and even the background characters have
a pagemultiple pages that are longer than most character pages". This has been talked about before, but I definitely think we need to clean it up now.edited 4th Dec '14 9:36:38 PM by SantosLHalper
