Yeah, I think some connection between the various tropes would be nice.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah, it's pretty crappy. When I first made it, I just thought "you know, a blue moon appears to be a thing, I'll make a trope about it", but then all its connotations sort of misshapenly were added to it and now its more of some weird thing than a trope.
I'd say cut it, and maybe scavenge some parts to make a new trope (or tropes).
(1) and (2) are essentially the same thing and could reasonably be kept together on the page. (3) can probably find a home in something related to Weird Moon. (4) is essentially a Search Generated Index and can go bye bye.
@Zyffyr: Weird Moon has its own Repair Shop discussion.
For now, I'll just say that this is what we get when we title tropes after Stock Phrases.

I would be highly surprised if we didn't already have a trope for something highly unlikely (i.e. "once in a blue moon"), for example on this index page.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Whatever the original intentions of the troper who created this, I think literal blue moons are tropeworthy. A rename to something like The Moon Turns Blue, a slightly clarified description and a culled example list should be enough.
That discussion is why I said "Something related to Weird Moon" and not just "Weird Moon"...
And as for the index of improbable things, well... in that case we should just move any of those examples on this page over to wherever they belong on the pages from it and then nuke this as unneeded duplication.
When the moon is depicted as Blue does seem to be a trope, and I think there's a larger trope over that. The moon most typically looks white (ehhh, off-white, but generally speaking), except in certain atmospheric conditions. Obviously Bad Moon Rising is an example of Red moons, but Blue and Yellow are also fairly common.
Red specifically means a "bad omen", and things will be bad, but what associations do the other colours have? Without an associated meaning, the colours are just different colours people use.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanDo we want to just accept "The Moon is Blue" as a trope, with no other associations?
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Nah, we should just axe this trope, and maybe make a mention of blue moons in Weird Moon or whatever becomes of it after it's also fixed.
Yeah, this doesn't seem tropeworthy.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Execute it. -rounds up the firing squad-
I do not mind a cut here, either.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThat seems pretty clear.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Since we're all pretty much in agreement, we should probably put this in the cut list.
I'll clean the 20 or so wicks then toss this on the fire
Edit: Done and on the cutlist

Page was cut. Subpage about to be. Locking.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
Looking at the trope page, it is unclear whether Once In A Blue Moon is supposed to be about
(1) the Stock Phrase "once in a blue moon" (2) something that occurs very rarely (3) literally a blue-colored moon (4) characters and/or works named "blue moon"
We should decide what the page is for, and move the unfitting examples to other pages instead.
