Attack on Titan

I completely forgot this was even happening, but here are the first cast pics.

The cast includes Haruma Miura as Eren, Kiko Mizuhara as Mikasa, Kanata Hongo as Armin, Satomi Ishihara as Hanji, Nanami Sakuraba as Sasha, and Takahiro Miura as Jean. [1]

And a Subaru ad by the movie's director.

Was about to completely write off this film as a shitty American remake until I found out it was by a Japanese director.

Kudos franchise!

I still say, should their ever be an American adaptation, that Tom Cruise would make for the perfect Levi.

If there is a manga that could become a good Hollywood remake, it is Attack On Titan. You can have a lot of hollywoodinan action and the characters are already western, so no needless Race Lift.

Admittedly, I'm surprised this is actually thing given the less than ideal reception that Edge Of Tomorrow got.

If that were the case doesn't that just mean "Don't let Hollywood handle Japanese properties" rather than "Don't ever make Japanese properties into movies?"

In my opinion, only certain manga and anime can be handled by Hollywood, probably along the lines of little to no Japanese elements that wouldn't translate well for the West.

Edge Of Tomorrow actually got a very positive reception critically, and it even made its budget back.

No, I think Attack on Titan could work for Hollywood.

So if you guys were to cast an American adaptation of AOT, who would you choose for the roles?

I've already mentioned Tom Cruise as Levi (seriously, he would be perfect as the role).

The new Batman, Mark Damon, as Eren.

Shouldn't it be Attack OF THE Titans? Attack on Titan makes me think they're attacking a moon of Saturn...

Then we have people mistakenly thinking it's a sequel to Clash and Wrath of the Titans.

A sequel to Clash/Wrath of the Titans set on Saturn's moon of Titan.

The best title would be "Attacking Titans". That makes it ambiguous whether the Titans are attacking or getting attacked!

I don't know here Hange got that RPG or why she is snuggling with it but I approve.

Wait, did they Race Lift the characters in reverse? I thought Mikasa was the only one that was Asian.

Maybe she was the only one from a specific Asian country.
