Garo: Honoo no Kokuin

No he's upset because it's the only thing he has from his mom. To him it's all he has to connect to her besides revenge and he didn't even get that.

And now the second half will be him Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life.

I think.

That, or he becomes a horror. You know, either or.

After all, where there is cause, horrors appear.

If he will become a Horror: I think he will grow to hate the Makai Knights more than Horrors, and suffer like KIBA did.

Actually, there are plenty of parallels between León and KIBA. I thought Bernardo was the KIBA expy, but I guess I was wrong.

I have the sneaking suspicion that the carved seal of flames will figure into his evil villain role, I think.

So here's how I think it will go:

• Second half of this show: León's fall and turning into KIBA expy #2.
• First half of second season: Alfonso and German's fight against León-KIBA.
• Second half of second season: Mendoza returns to become once again the final villain.
• Movie: Since it's a side story, I think it'll be a prequel about Germán kicking ass and fucking.

Did I mention I liked KIBA a whole lot in the tokusatsu? Because let me remind you that KIBA is awesome.

Who's KIBA again?

BARAGO, the apprentice of GARO, who wanted the armor, but Kouga Saejima(the one Leon's personality is based of) inherited it because Dad was GARO. Then he got an armor (KIBA) and fell into despair and became a power-hungry Makai Knight that started absorbing horrors into himself to grow his powers, then he became the villain of the first series.

There was a first series?

None of this is expounded a whole lot in the first series, however. This was mostly explored in his movie.

This show is based on an already existing and very successful toku franchise. You should watch it.

We are talking about a live action franchise. The first series aired in 2005. It was 4:3.

There's also no official English releases for any of the live-action GARO.

Oh okay. I may as well excuse myself from the conversation then :P

You don't need any knowledge of the tokus to enjoy this anime, although you may not recognize how blatant some of the expies are.

Something about Leon's HORROR hateboner. He have it due to his mother being burned at the stake. HOWEVER he wasn't even born during most of that so the only reason he could be so resentfull of it is if German kept mentioning it.

That, coupled with the nomadic lifestyle he probably was raised in and seeing his dad continously fighting monsters and sleeping with every woman under the moon, may have left him with a somewhat twisted perspective of the world. And caused him to blame HORRORS for everything that went/go/will go wrong in his life.

tl,dr. Leon's situation may have more to do with his upgring than what happened to his mother. And it's his dad's fault.

Unrelatedly: Leaving Leon alone like that doesn't sound like a good idea. If he recover great, but he could get himself killed doing something stupid, and the worst case scenario involves a HORROR with a bone to pick with GARO and that know how Makai Knights operate.

Not so Unrelatedly: Now that Leon doesn't have a armor anymore, German actually have someone he can pass the silver armor to. Think about that for a moment.

Yeah, the most sensible option is for Leon to restart his training from the ground up, trying to make amends for his actions, so that he's worthy to inherit his father's armor with his passing. However, to do that, he'd have to acknowledge that he dun fucked up, that he'll never get his mother's armor, and also that maybe his dad isn't the worst person in the world.

In related news, what happened to the red armor?

I would assume Alfonso still has GAIA as well as GARO. He'd better find a nice lady and start working on a lot of kids pronto.

Let's just hope it doesn't go for some lame thing like "Oh Mendoza gets reincarnated as Alfonzo's son."

This reminds me that León still hasn't gotten laid.

So, what was Leon's Garo's eye color? I can't recall? Orange or red?

His eyes were the color of rage!

The eyes of GARO tell you who is the user. Blue is the color of the son of the original main character, who like Alfonso, dons the armor out of pure duty.

Yes, León's eyes were red. Kinda seems odd, but Ema has blue hair, so whatever.

Garo Hn K's second cour visual's up [1] Leon's wearing a white new coat, does this mean Garo'll come back to him after all? I heard that every Garo Makai Knights from the TV series wear the white long coat. On the other hand, who's that small girl on the left? I'm betting she'll be Leon's love interest. Also, I have been wondering, is the second cour that starts in January the second season or are we going to get the second season AFTER 24 episode (which mean there'll be at least 36 episodes)? It's confusing...

Nope, it'll be another 2 cour series. And then a movie. Maybe Tohokushinsha Film Corp will actually let MAPPA animate the movie in its entirety.

Also, isn't the lady on the right the one that Germán stole the blanket from in Episode 8?
