This comic from Paranatural just happened and the third and fourth panels just seem absolutely perfect. Could we use this?

I don't get it. The comic appears to title-drop the trope name, but I don't see it illustrating the trope.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in that comic.

If by "perfect" you mean it has the phrase "OTP", then it's perfect. But a good illustration? Not in the slightest.

Makes absolutely no sense to me.

I will say, though, that it does reflect what's probably the best approach: showing a shipper declaring a fictional couple their OTP (fictional in order to avoid real life ship wars). This just isn't the way to do it.

[up]Is that what's happening in the comic though? Seems more like the character is having a crush on someone and tried to declare themselves as an OTP

[up] That's how I saw it, too.

[tdown] to suggestion. Not sure exactly what is happening.

Looks like a crush to me. I'm not sure that's best but I don't how you would show it any better.

Not convinced by the suggestion.

Alternatives. But, we will need permission for these.

Or we could just use this.

(Btw I don't actually ship that pairing; it's just one of the first that comes to mind when one reads that trope... I found a pic from Little Women as well, with Jo/Laurie, but one doesn't understand it's Jo/laurie unless told.)

I don't think it works. In context, the train has just been hit with a Cupid-style Love Potion arrow, and the joke is that it's a Crack Ship. Neither of those things scream "OTP" to me.

This is a trope about fan reactions; therefore it needs to show fans reacting to something, rather than the thing that some fans react to. There are several webcomics about fans (e.g. Were Geek, Short Packed) that may have a good image.

[up]I actually think the suggestion for crack pairing is better for this page, because we see someone (a fan) drawing a fanart of the pairing.
