@Lyendith, I wasn't that big on the Soumen either actually. Just a couple parts of it. And to be fair this beetle one I didn't pay as much attention otherwise I'd probably find it funnier.

I see… Oh well, random filler chaps like that all but disappear afterwards.

Chap 158 raw is up and *looks up the title*… yeah, it's a Jitsu wa chapter. I thought I was reading another series for a second. Serious chapters have been more frequent lately, but this one was really… heavy… Going by Nagibox's warning last time ("Stay away from the young me"), it might be that Asahi has kept some lingering feelings for Nagisa. And that would be problematic to say the least. Even the artstyle was somewhat more somber than usual.

Otherwise, the series is on a break next week, perfect timing to release chapter 123 on our side. \o\

Chapter 123 is officially translated and the readers are so shocked. Love it. I'm sure most people think the grandfather is Asahi, but they'll be even more surprised next chapter.

As someone who already knows stuff from spoilers, I find readers reaction can be as amusing as the chapters themselves. Especially Wham chapters like this.

Hehe, yeah the reactions from the Bato.to comments section is always amusing, especially with this manga. Pretty glad I went ahead with spoilers, totally worth it to see the shock from the ones who have no clue about what's coming. They're already losing it with this twist, next week is gonna be something to behold.

Reading the chapter made me alternate between thinking the Shima is a creep joke is really overplayed and then giggling.

Shima is such a walking bag of shit, it's always great when he gets kicked down. I love it how even Momochi is like "hell naww"

Asahi said something wise again.

I realized who the great-grandma is before they even explained it. The "fall in love with everyone" bit gave it away.

This is supposed to be a wham chapter, but I bet the explanation will be simple and silly. Like that a person has two sets of grandparents.

Notice the little bit of foreshadowing in chapter 118, where we learn Yuka can manipulate steam.

Also, this page is pure genius. The expressions, the layout, the use of shadows, Shima's "dog-in-heat" expression combined with a Gaussian Girl filter… it's perfect.

That's why I love this series. Analysing stuff like that is an integral part of the fun in reading it.

Yeah, that page is great. Yuka's expression is just pure "nope".

And Yuka and Rin aren't sisters anyway. Since they both refer to Asahi as grandpa, that would mean that they're cousins, and have between them four grandmothers and three unique grandfathers. This also means Asahi had at least two daughters (since neither of his granddaughters has his name).

It's like nobody in that series understands basic genealogy. Mikan is Rin's grandma, and Shiho is Momochi's grandma, but not Rin's since Rin never called her that. So Rin still has one grandmother and one grandfather (not necessarily paired) unidentified, and Momochi has one grandfather and one grandmother (again may or may not be paired) unidentified. So there's plenty of room there for Asahi to still be with Youko in the future. Though I guess it does give them some sort of false hope? Like, "I'm her grandmother in the future, and Asahi is her grandfather, which gives me a 50% chance to be with him in the future!"

Wait, is Mika actually Rin's grandma? Wasn't it revealed that she's just a neighborhood she calls granny? I'm honestly not sure.

IMO, this is the only manga where I lost my shit at the first PANEL. Just single shot at police car and we all know what happened.

EDIT: Speaking of which, we could use a chart of "who knows whose secret(s)".

Also, Asahi's trust in his girlfriend is very touching. "Of course she wouldn't mistake Shima for me! I'm, like, 90% sure!"

• Yuka is a Ninja: Everyone.
  • Yuka is from the future: Mikan, Shiho now and probably Asahi.

Mikan is not Rin's actual grandmother, it's just that she acts like one to Rin and maybe some other young ones so they call her granny/grandma/etc. As for Youko being Asahi's wife in the future, I'm still kinda at a loss with this because of the things that we've been told that seem to disprove it. But at the same time it doesn't make sense for him to end up with anyone else.

He did hesitate for a moment there though. XD

I'm pretty sure that as much as Asahi loves Youko, he's enough of a realist and knows her well enough that she'd probably fall for it.

I think we all know there's a chance she might fall for it at least for a short while. XD

159 is out in Korean. A YoukoNagi chap. It looks pretty touching. Apparently, Nagisa's team aren't the first spies the Aizawans send.

Where'd ya see chapter 159? It's not on Sen Manga yet.

Volume 17 cover has Mikan and Mei. That's the 4th cover for Mikan after 4, 9 and 15. Masuda really likes her a lot, doesn't he. I wonder if Masuda's gonna put one of the guys on a cover one day, though. =[

In harem manga the guys usually wouldn't sell as well so it's probably not gonna happen unfortunately. It would be great however because the guys of the manga totally deserve their own covers.

And 124 is out, yep people freaked just like expected, that was quite entertaining to watch. And it just adds to the mystery. Seriously what possessed Shiho to marry Shimada and why do I feel sorry for Shiho and yet entertained all at the same time?

The chapter did not disappoint, so happy to finally see it translated and it gets even funnier once you can actually read it English. Been waiting on this one for months.

This chapter.... wow, just wow.

I knew Mikan stupid digging in the future would bring a disaster.

Poor Shiho, feeling like scum being told that she hurt her best friend so much. It's amazing that one of the silliest characters in the series can have such emotional scene like this. This was really heavy stuff....

And of course it turns out it was just a misunderstanding. Jitsu wa, you rascal!

Oh shit, what a curveball! This is indeed the bad future. Poor Shiho, someone save her from this disaster.

Mikan raises a good point for once. There are thousands of Yuuta's. Even in Japan I don't think people are actually obligated to marry someone they met in higschool.

Never mind, it won't be so easy.

Don't give up Shiho! Change that horrible future. Everyone got your back!
