I am trying to compose a magic sytem with two distinct types of magic.

I am trying to make a good line between physical and mental magic. In my story, magic is just a component available in the air, easy to come by and causes bodily reactions. When concentrated the magic is purple. There are three types of users who harness it. Magic A users- the magic is transported to their circulatory system the user gets physical powers such as: blood, acid, and calcium manipulation. The magic is turns red when going through type A users. Magic B users- this magic goes directly to the person's brain and these users have ki or mental basd powers. When going through the user the magic turns blue. Magic AB users- can use both types. Can you guys help me make a thicker line between these two magic users to make them more identifiable? Also I need to come up with a reason for why the magic goes through he nervous system for some and circulatory system for others. I was thinking that that general magic in the air could be made up of two different gases. -Does that make any sense? How can I improve my system?

I have a couple questions for you.

First of all, would elemental magic fall under one of these? I suppose it would be under mental if you were talking about just manipulating it, but I could see fire being a physical power (literally burning fat for instance) and you could argue something similar for the others (such as grabbing the wind).

Secondly, when you say "through the nervous system" do you mean it actually travels through the nerves or it is located in the brain?

As for why one over the other, you could make a difference in how their absorbing it. People who can "breathe" magic for lack of a better word get Magic Type A, whereas Magic Type B receive it as light through the eyes.
