I don't think it would be difficult to flip the pic and make the text fit, but if we can find something that works better and doesn't need to be flipped, let's do that.
Can this◊ work?
I like that. Not a fan of the current.

Check out my fanfiction!I love the photo.
Uh, yeah. Support for 7.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI would have argued there's no immediate hint this being in Japan, but then I saw the writings on the wall. Not bad; the left and right side could be trimmed a bit. It's better than a wall of text.
I think the person on the right can be cropped off.
How's this?
Good for me.

Love the image.
Possible caprtion, possibly a stretch: "Domo arigato, misuta goato."
Not right away, not right awayOh man, that's baaaaaaaad.
Am I too late in saying I prefer the picture that explains what the trope is about and isn't just "a polite Japanese person"?
Because I feel the latter is just misuse waiting to happen.
It's not a "polite Japanese person" image. The animal (I think it's a donkey) is also bowing.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI do not think the picture will add to any potential misuse.
Nah, donkeys are larger than that and don't have cloven hooves.
Back on topic, though, the suggestion in 11 is great.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenI don't see that at all, but whatevs.
I don't see what would be lost in transcribing the current one to pure text. So it's not a good illustration. An explanation is what you have the description for.
Check out my fanfiction!I'm with Zeal on this. The suggestion is cute, but not particularly illustrative. She could be bowing to the goat, or she could be looking at something on the ground near her feet. I don't see anything that makes me think the goat is "bowing back".
The trope is also much more inclusive than "bows a lot". I really prefer the original.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I think using an image that is more elegant, textless, and funny over a wordy image is fine if the trope is not in danger of misuse. I do not see misuse problems, I do not think an image that requires a small amount of ability to interpret based on context is going to cause a problem in this case.

My main problem with the current is that it's leaning very close to the "just text" category. If we still want to use Hetalia, the scene depicted in the example entry might be better (Japan bowing while saying something derogatory to China, causing the latter to call him rude).
Current is lame. Goat ftw.
