Quite cranky, it would seem. How old is the guy, anyway? 60?
72. Both of my parents are older than him, so I don't view him as old. Get back to me with complaints about old people being old when he's rockin' 85.

i. hear. a. sound.Visual evidence that Reconguista in G◊ will be the best thing ever.◊
What's precedent ever done for us?And I'm left with even more questions. Was there hand washing? Sanitizer? Is that a lady, and if so does she have a built in Go Girl? Surely that toilet isn't of any use in zero-g. Who thought of building a toilet into a pilot seat anyways? Is there ever back flow? Is mech-plumber a trade school vocation? Was that really a toilet or some kind of glorified trash can? /rambles off into the distance
...this is going to be the best thing ever.

i. hear. a. sound.Now this is a poster campaign I can get behind.◊
What's precedent ever done for us?Uncle SM wants you!
RIP Akira Toriyama, taken from us far too soon. So, today (Japanese time) the Bald Wizard is finally getting back in the cockpit. Have any fan sub groups announced they're going to tackle this show?
You sure you got that date correctly? AniDB says it's going to air on October 3 but it's only the 1st here in Eastern Europe, which means 2nd in Japan.
According to the wiki's Fall 2014 anime list, it airs on the second.
but HOW?Wikipedia says 10/2 for the start date.
I stand corrected.
According to MAL, it's October 3.

It airs on 3 October but it's very early in the morning, roughly 21 hours from now.
G-Reco airs at 10/2 24:00 JST. This is 10/2 11:00 EST
Speaking of airtimes, don't Gundam shows normally air primetime? I know 00 and AGE did

AGE got Gundam kicked off of its former channel, I think.
Subs aren't out yet, but I managed to watch a bit of the simulcast. I'm pretty sure we've received confirmation that the show's a prequel to Turn-A.
We already knew that was the case.
And subs are out now.
On one hand, I like the aesthetic. On the other, the dialogue is terrible
Definitely going to need to see a bit more to decide if I'll be following it to the end
Yeah, it's a well-established fact that Tomino's dialogue has a tendency to be cringe-worthy. I can think of a grand total of one line in Char's Counterattack that wasn't exposition, for example.
but HOW?First impressions:
The OP is a good example of why CG has largely replaced hand-drawn animation for mecha.
Actually, the first few minutes are the entire thing is really a complete throw-back to the late 80's/90's artstyles. There's a handful of shots that are obviously CG, but they're only obvious by comparison. If you toned down the trippy a bit, I would have had a very hard time placing it as something done this decade.

...I'm not certain I understand the point you're trying to make. Mind elaborating?

but HOW?Sound effects and music are top-notch, very fitting with the visuals. The characters complement the artstyle - which I didn't like that much in E7, but it works well here.
Bellri seems a capable protagonist, light-hearted but also aware of his position, he reminds me a bit of Loran. Aida's definitely the lead female here, which is perfectly fine by me, I like her already. Would be nice to see her getting much development. The supporting characters are good, although the cheerleaders felt a bit gratuitous. This is Tomino, though, so I get the impression some of them will join the army or something. I'm a bit miffed at Raraiya's treatment - she's a clear Lalah Expy, an 'exotic' kind of character and probable Newtype, so giving her some kind of mental damage due to low oxygen, trauma or the like gives me bad vibes. We'll have to wait for things to pan out before making a conclusive judgement, but I already feel distrustful.
I'm really digging the OP (particularly the full version), but the ED's visuals are really something else. Either it's going to cause dissonance after dark episodes, or it's indicative that this will be a "happy Tomino" series. It seems like we'll be getting many more characters, particularly girls, which is fine by me. More girl pilots would be great. It also hints at some future developments (Captain Luin, he is a Char).
Finally, mobile suit design and general Gundam references were pretty great, the Turn-A references in particular.
Overall, pretty great, if a bit sloppy in some aspects. Will definitely keep watching this season.
Oh, and I should probably keep a count just in case...
Slap count: 2
Named Character Death count: 1

? There's been a number of awkwardly 2D shots throughout, but the OP is culled from the bits that work
I was thinking more about the constant, unnatural exposition and unusually poor voice acting
So EP 1 was pretty neat.
It certainly has good aesthetics.
Let's just all agree that Tomino's been getting cranky in old age and leave it at that. :|
but HOW?
