Awesome. Are the mutagenic properties of Eldritchian biology intentional/planned by said monstrosities or just accidental? How much does CACHE know about them?

CACHE has been studying them for twenty years, using their research and Eldritichian biology to make new advances such as cures for uncurable diseases. Though given the diverse nature of Eldritichians, their understanding is more as individuals than as the species collectively. Meaning they can understand a Eldritchian's unique biology pretty well, but they have yet to understand them collectively as something other than "genetically wild apocalypse monsters". At least, that's what they say.

CACHE also does their best to make sure only UN aligned groups have Eldritichian samples, justified by "the destructive potential of Eldritichian biology is too great to just let anyone have it, making terror groups extremely dangerous if they can obtain some."

By the way, I'll probably allow any individual as many characters as they want.

Here's a signup!

  • Name: Adria Kepler
  • Race: Genetically enhanced and cybernetically modified human. Has quicker reflexes, enhanced durability, a direct mental link to her mech, and 24/7 internet access.
  • Appearance: [1]
  • Inventory:
    • M4-2A Ballistic Pistol - Suppressed and Gene locked
    • Emergency Tac-kit - Basic medical supplies, water cleansers, and rudimentary camping equipment
    • TacAssist - A pseudo-AI which resides in her cybernetic implants and provides tactical assistance as well as personal assistance
  • Mecha: M923 Mugutsumi - The Mugutsumi is a 50m combat mech built by a Japanese company as a gift to the UN
    • Loadout:
      • L-6 Arc Cannon - Fires bolts of electricity
      • H-47b Furnace Blaster - Fires massive beams of pure thermal energy at mid range
      • S3-796 Kinetic Barrier - State of the art kinetic barrier, rather than projecting a wasteful sphere this barrier hovers only a couple of meters above the mechs hull
      • G9-47j Jump Jets - Provide greater maneuverability and limited short range flight
  • Backstory: Adria has been raised to be a perfect soldier, a product of the UN's genetic testing and cybernetic enhancement programs her body is perfectly designed to maximize combat efficiency both inside and outside a mech. Now if only they had thought to restrict her access to TV Tropes and 4chan maybe her mind would be the same, while not warped enough to justify barring her from the cockpit, many of her more militaristic handlers from CACHE and UN Security tend to treat the duty as a punishment, not being able to handle the Deadpan Snarker she has become.

Can you explain the extent of her reflexes and durability? In addition, I would like to know her age. CACHE does have an aging fluid they developed, which works by submerging someone in it. The amount of aging depends on how long the submerging, and is primarily used on their artificially made super pilots. Mental aging is a different matter though, which 24/7 internet access would help with (in their opinion anyways).

Then you're accepted. By the way, the battle of "Episode 1" should be drawing to a close. There are several pilots hanging back at CACHE Avalon in the event the Falchion goes completely mad, so there's still plenty to do without actually engaging the Falchion. But what you do is up to you, as you can post whenever you feel like it.

So was that simply a question or do you intend to join? Though, I should put up a few rules. Firstly, any species that encounter the Eldritchians would know them as rampaging monsters unable to be reasoned with. Second, any species derived from Eldritchians wouldn't inherently agree with their behavior. Thirdly, while the Sky-Blazers aren't the only race of humanoid aliens they're the most similar one.

Yeah, I'm planning to join. I'm going to be using the Einst, which are basically sentient mecha. They're mostly humanoid, but also fairly monstrous in appearance in their own right. They're not offshoots of the Eldritchians and have, in fact, gotten sick of their shit. They're caught between two facets of their Blue-and-Orange Morality though, so only an "expeditionary force" has been sent.

Name: Mord Nacht

Race: Alten (A species of sentient bio-mechanical mecha. They are all connected by a pseudo-Hive Mind, as they're a collection of distinct individuals rather than one mind in many bodies.)

Age: 396 Earth Years, 244 Alten Homeworld Years

Appearance: His true body is the mecha, and he uses a human-sized version of it to interact with the tiny Avalonlings.

Inventory: The human-sized version carries only its armor, its sword, and a personal teleporter that can transport it anywhere it can see.

Mecha: Here's what he looks like. The armor is red and the cable-muscles are green.

Mord's nature makes him capable of regenerating any wounds he may have sustained as long as his core (which is what Mord actually is; the rest of the body is just a lovingly crafted vessel for him) remains undamaged. This is limited in its combat utility, however; while small holes (like those caused by a laser rifle) may be healed fairly quickly in the middle of a battle, larger wounds (like losing a limb) cannot be regenerated without making said limb much more monstrous (from a human perspective) and more impractical for the body. If Mord's core is damaged but not destroyed, he cannot regenerate anything until he has regenerated said damage to his core. If that damage is too great to be regenerated, then Mord is dead without outside aid. Naturally, the core is the most guarded and armored part of Mord's body.

Mord has a variety of weapons he may call upon when the need arises. The three "claws" on it's left arm can be charged with plasma, allowing it to fire it laser-esque plasma projectiles or increase the melee capacity of the claws dramatically. He can also "empower" his sword in much the same way, allowing it to cut through most substances. However, elongated use can be draining, so this ability is best used in short bursts (such as activating just before he hits someone and deactivating right after the strike is complete). Additionally, Mord can overcharge and detach the "claws", functionally turning them into plasma bombs (as long as their impaled into something first; while he can overcharge them without impaling them into something, the result wouldn't be pretty for Mord).

Mord's strongest weapon can be called, in layman's terms, a whole lotta gravity in beam form. It's contained within a field and collapses after Mord's finished firing it. Anything caught within the beam is (obviously) subjected to extreme gravitational force, most often crushing the poor asshole into a very tiny sphere. If the enemy is not within a few kilometers of the beam (or are behind Mord), however, they will most probably not be pulled into the beam and will be mostly fine. In addition, this attack is extremely draining for Mord, and he can't use it more than once per battle without some serious recharging.

Being utterly alien, Mord's armor and blade are made of an extremely durable material that does not exist and cannot currently be replicated on Earth. Thus, Mord must rely on his regeneration for any repairs that he may need. Mord's mecha body also has a teleporter, which can transport him practically anywhere on the planet (though the energy requirements increase proportionally to the distance, and as the teleporter was made for the Alten alone, he cannot take anything that isn't made by the Alten with him). In addition to the teleporter, Mord has a pair of boosters on his back for quick bursts of speed and maneuvering.

Mord can create a human sized copy of his body in order to interact with creatures that are smaller than him. However, this mini-Mord's teleporter is much more limited. He can only create one mini-Mord at a time, and his consciousness can only be in one body at a time; if he's currently inhabiting his mini-Mord, his actual body is as unresponsive as any unmanned Zaku. If the mini-Mord is destroyed while he's inhabiting it, his consciousness automatically returns to his actual body, but he still feels everything that comes with death (the pain, the fear, etc.). If his core is destroyed while he's in the mini-Mord, he dies. It doesn't matter where his consciousness is at the moment; if his core is destroyed, he dies.

As Alten vocal chords simply aren't capable of forming human sounds, Mord communicates mostly through telepathy. This is the only amount of mind-fuckery it can do; the only way he could possibly do any damage with his telepathy is doing the equivalent of screaming at you, and it would be about as effective. In addition, though Mord knows English, he's not used to thinking in it and his "speech" is slow and riddled with pauses as a result.

Backstory: Once upon a time, Mord Nacht was a simple combat unit for the Alten. It wasn't anything special by their standards; it was more of a red shirt than anything else. It lived its days in relative piece, fighting only in spars and the smattering of raiders stupid enough to attack their people. It was a normal experience of a normal soldier.

So, naturally, the universe decided it needed to spice that shit up. Cue the Eldritchians, and a brutal war that lasted for centuries. Despite being utterly unprepared for the invasion, Mord rose to the task and did fairly decently, surviving many battles and many personal foes. It gained and lost many friends during this time, and its hatred for its enemy grew with every passing moment.

As time passed, however, the Eldritchian advantage began to outstrip the Alten's, and Mord's people were eventually defeated. With no other options left to them, the remaining Altens fled to the stars, hoping to find time to plan and regain their strength on other planets. Mord's group just so happened to land in the Sol System.

For the most of their time there, the Alten preferred to stay hidden, and they didn't even attempt to contact humanity until 1996, and they didn't show up in person until 2005. When Mord first made contact with humanity, it decided to identify as male despite being a genderless bio-mechanical monstrosity to lessen confusion somewhat, and will nowadays always refer to itself with male pronouns.

It has been a century since that fateful war, and Mord's malice towards his foe has not dissipated in the slightest. With the arrival of the Sky-Blazers and the Eldritchians beginning to make their way to humanities territory, Mord Nacht is just as ready and eager to fight as he was at the height of the Alten-Eldritch War, and he is perhaps even more dangerous. He will not rest until every last Eldritchian has been exterminated.

To that end, he has started an organization called Hochste Einmal with the explicitly stated purpose of utterly annihilating every last Eldritchian. His people had failed once before, but perhaps he could find the path to ultimate victory in the flailing of the fleshlings...

So, I had an idea of having my character be a little robot who is a part of the mecha, especifically in order for the mecha to work the little robot needs to combine with it, or someone would have to control it manually from the inside.

The little robot would have a very intelligent AI and would likely be of alien origin, so I thought that at first it could be an antagonist (sort of a Starter Villain?) and later pull a Heel–Face Turn.

Would that be okay?

Hmm... All A.I.s are ultimately Alten in origin, with any non-derivative AI being less advanced or a biological entity in its own right (the artifact causing Minerva's creation is Alten tech). In addition, out of all the species in the universe the Alten would be the de facto "smart" race so any species that isn't humans would of created their A.I.s from Alten technology & whatnot.

However I just felt the need to say that, the character would be perfectly acceptable... Except I'll need more information on your Starter Villain plans. Episode 3 is the first Episode that'll have a completely serious boss battle, so that can work. But I'm not sure how a single AI unaffiliated with any big companies would be a serious threat. Seed Esper is probably the closest to a "villain faction" and they indiscriminately sell their Mass Production technology to anyone.

Mind if I put forth some suggestions on how to fit in the character?

It doesn't really NEED to be a villain, it's just a thought I had, I could change it easily to make it a bit easier to fit it with the others.

Any tips would be welcome though.

I suppose there are two main routes we can go with this character. Route A; They are a Gen 3 AI that Seed Esper had brought, and eventually went/goes mad stealing their Unit in the process. Route B; They are an AI constructed by Eldritchians. Though given we just dealt with an out-of-control AI in the first Episode, perhaps we could wait several episodes until the AI goes crazy?

Regarding non-antagonistic roles, Seed Esper does need some representatives so a character working for them would be great anyways. In addition, focus more on them being an individual would be preferred to focusing on their AI nature too much. Usually stereotypical AI behavior stuff would be signs of a young AI or one that's been altered anyways.

Hmm... How about it being of Eldrictchian origin, but when it arrived on Earth it crashed and suffered enough damage to suffer a total wipe of its database, only to be found by a human and bonding with him? There's some possibility of Chekhov's Gun in regard to just what it before being damaged.

And it's actually going to be fairly normal in behavior, it's AI nature is apparent, but otherwise it acts just like any other person.

Make its arrival "part of a system for a cybernetic mecha of an Eldritchian" and crashing be "getting launched a far distance from the battle". The "cybernetic mecha" part to make its exact origins more confusing in-universe, since nobody would of assume it was actually (sent/controlled by) an Eldritchian after the lack of organic mass to be found from its destruction. Being an intelligent creation meant for support that just had its memories erased/etc, clinging to the first thing it could makes sense.

Though what about the human? Joining CACHE or Hochste Einmal is serious hero shenanigans, while being a freelancer or working for Seed Esper would be more fitting someone who doesn't want to be expected to do hero stuff (plus CACHE would want to study it while Hochste might want to destroy it). Though the really Super Robots are CACHE's and Hochste's domain, just to mention.

I figure the human could act as an engineer working for Seed Esper, offering some support while also being able to keep an eye on the AI and while not exactly a pilot, it could likely control the mecha manually if the AI happens to be unavailable for some reason.

Anyway:

  • Name: Zeus
  • Race: AI
  • Appearance: He (identifies as male, obviously) looks about the size of a eight years old and has a very robotic appearance. His body has a black and yellow color scheme, his head is spherical, with only a teal visor and a large lighting shaped crest on it, lacking any other facial features. The way his body is shaped make him look as if he was wearing light armor, with a horizontal lighting shaped stripe on his chest and seemingly wearing boots with yellow soles. He also has a bit of an eagle motif in his appearance, having sharp talon-like hands as well as a wing-shaped jetpack.
  • Inventory: He's equipped with retractable yellow blades that come out of his arms as well as being able to morph his hands into different weapons, such as a taser or differnt kinds of guns that fire yellows bolts of lighting of various sizes, such as a rifle, a pistol or a SMG, among other options, those are fo situations of combat where he isn't able to combine with his larger body. He's also equiped with a jetpack as mentioned above.
  • Mecha: Aquilla Jupiter. He still has a black and yellow color scheme and also has the same equipment as he had in his smaller form, only bigger and stronger. He has a sleek body which makes him quite agile and able to move around quickly and with ease, it does however makes him more frail than most. The cockpit of the mecha is locate behind his teal visor. Essentially a giant, and more bulky version of his common small design, though his head is noticeably more eagle-shapped. He's also able to change into a jet for extra mobility, in this form, the blades are located on the sides of
  • Backstory: Zeus was a cybernetic mecha of Eldritchian origin, he found his way into Earth after being launched away from a battle. Upon arrival, all the damage he had received resulted in his database being completely erased and thus a loss of all his memories. He was found by a young boy who, amazed with his discovery, decided to help him out by trying to fix him, as he already had plans to become an engineer. The boy and Zeus eventually became close friends and eventually Zeus was recruited into Seed Esper, with his human partner tagging along as an engineer and also as insurance that the AI wouldn't end up going rogue.

Important thing to note regarding Sky-Blazers: Their hair/eye colors strictly reflect their powers, with the hair representing the primary ability (red = generating/manipulating fire, etc) while the eyes represent their specialization (like icy blue eyes to blue hair = proficiency with making water freeze, or icy blue eyes to red hair = significant skill with making low temperature fire).

Besides that, each player is allowed however many characters they think they can manage. That and I would actually like it if someone also made a character working for Hochste Einmal.

Color me Interested.

  • Name: Takuto Agata & HECTOR
  • Race: Human & Combat AI
  • Appearance: Taa-kun! HECTOR's Avatar of choice
  • Inventory: A wrist-mounted Computer that contains HECTOR's core systems and memory (Which is backed up in the main Seed Esper HQ), a survival kit and a pair of headphones.
  • Mecha: Victory Viper
  • Mecha Stats:
    • Height: 17.4 meters
    • Max. Speed: 722 km/h (Boosting along the ground), Mach 3.8 (Flight)
    • Weight: 35 tons
    • Power output: 50 Megawatts per second
    • Operational time: 4 hours
  • Mecha Weapons:
    • Caliburn Multi-Weapon system: As the name Implies, the Caliburn is several weapons at once, being a Buster sword/lance, A high-power laser rifle, a Sonic blaster and a grenade launcher all at once, giving it options for all ranges.
    • Faerie Fire Micro Missile: Mounted in the shoulders, these small but powerful missiles buffet enemies with a solid wall of explosive death and/or relentlessly pursue those who chose to avoid them.
    • Force Barrier: While mainly used to counteract air resistance and shield the Victory Viper's admittedly frail construction from debris damage, the Force Barrier can be used to shield the machine from harm in a pinch; but is far less effective than a dedicated shielding system.
  • Backstory: Takuto is young man who had just recently obtained his license from Avalon as an entry-level test pilot for Seed Esper, while he wasn't anybody exceptional; his drive and honesty won him respect and admiration from his peers as well as catching the eyes of the eggheads in Seed Esper's R&D department as a test subject/handler for their latest creation: The first fully sentient Combat AI made entirely by human hands.

At first Takuto was excited to be chosen for such an important task and to have someone look up to him, teaching the newborn AI the finer intricacies of piloting as well as the ways of the world, but as time passed; Takuto began to realize that the AI would become a far superior pilot and combatant than a human like him could ever hope to be and that he was swiftly getting left behind; essentially being reduced to a glorified operator and minder for the real pilot of the Victory Viper- HECTOR. With that in mind he was considering quitting the program and becoming a cyborg in a misguided attempt to show up HECTOR, whom Takuto believed saw him as nothing more than a dumb servant who would soon be rendered useless. But in his last session as Victory Viper's "pilot", an Eldritchian attacked the testing grounds; this being his first taste of real combat, Takuto let HECTOR take control of the situation; seeing as how a human like him would only hold the AI back and because he was terrified by the beast's appearance. But to his fear and surprise, the AI couldn't defeat the invader and was actively holding back specifically because of his presence. Angrily and tearfully demanding why the AI was humiliating him so, HECTOR's rather confused response was such:

"It is because I do not want my only friend to be hurt."

The realization that he had been such a jealous and paranoid fool hit Takuto harder than anything in his life and after a few moments of recollecting himself, Takuto and HECTOR combined their efforts and was able to defeat the invader; albeit barely due to their inexperience. Promising to each other that they would both become strong enough to be able to protect the world, Takuto and his companion became fully fledged pilots a short time afterwards.

Just want some clarification: What is the Victory Viper from, how is it piloted, what exactly does HECTOR aid with (besides general piloting), and what is Takuto's age? In addition, slaying an Eldritchian by one's self is typically seen as an impressive feat (just something I wanted to state). Avalon is also a very big place, so you could easily say they were at a facility devoted entirely to research and construction as to explain why no one else was able to help.

Besides that, I would say the Victory Viper was intentionally made as a prototype for an MP line. If you haven't already, you should read through the Signups and Discussion to get all the world information I already put down. Oh, and all A.I.s derived from Minerva inherently consider themselves female (even the ones that otherwise act or seem genderless) so it takes quite a lot of altering to make male ones. Creating A.I.s that can naturally go either way (such as HECTOR) would be ideal for CACHE, since too much altering or shoddy programming can drive A.I.s derived from Minerva mad (much like trying to force memories, personalities, and erasing mind bits in a person).

Once I make my next post Episode 2's boss will appear one to two posts later, so everyone make sure your character is ready for a timeskip to 1:30 PM. By the way Questor, I left the details for Match 1 & 2 of the Super Robot Tournament open so you can write one if you want.

Vic Viper is just something I found on the web.

Taa-Kun is 19 and the Invader they took out was just an observer who got in over it's head when it saw how puny and seemingly weak it's sole enemy was.

Victory Viper is an experiment in combining Super-Level Firepower with the ease of storage and maintenance and speed of Real types. So far it's highly promising.

And as stated before, HECTOR is the very first fully sentient AI that is 100% made by humans.
