The current's good but subtle. The panel that says observe my date and what the heck is more obvious.

More obvious, yes, but only because it uses words. The current works without dialog, while the suggestion relies on it.

I guess words are need for either one. Unless we find something better we can just give this a caption and call it good.
"The image needs words..." means "...so words should be added", not "...so the image should be removed."

Good image, but low quality. If a higher quality version exists, I'd be in favor of a closer crop of that.
If you can find a better quality version of that, it's the best, hands down.

I could have cropped it closer, but to me the "date" aspect is as important as the "captive" part, so I left stuff around them to clearly indicate that they're in a movie theater.

The image on Captive Date shows a date, but not the captive part. It strikes me as more of an example of Abhorrent Admirer.
