Still not sure why wiping out the demons is supposed to be a bad thing, given how they are evil, soul eating sadistic monsters.

And if Demons aren't supposed to be evil by nature, then Meliodas betraying them for a girl really does make him a dirty traitor.

Goddess Elizabeth did suggest she has some ability to talk to peoples hearts or something, since she said the demons that left didn't want to fight either while the other threefpught the Commandment.

So, brainwashing? Wow, this kind of makes the whole relationship really creepy.

We're not sure of what Meliodas' goals here actually are. I mean, I think it's a given that he's not supporting the genocide plan given that jerky R name guy intends to kill him too. Elizabeth is apparently trying for peace and Meliodas is her ally, so I assume he's also in favor of that goal. Odds are good that Elizabeth is the one who sealed them both away since she seems to be quite the big shot and is the only one who doesn't seem to want everyone else dead. Derriere tried to kill her on sight, right? So I figure it's either the seal or because she did something like 'kill' the demon king.

Also, the demons we've seen have shown numerous virtues (integrity, loyalty, family love, mercy etc) and we don't know anything about the civilians.

Yeah, but stuff like that has always been directed at each other, not anyone else. Well, besides Fraudrin, and upon realizing that he promptly asked Meliodas to just kill him. I don't think they consider feeling things like that outside of themselves as good.

Edit: Oh, and I guess Zeldris' thing for that vampire woman. Still, with both him and Fraudrin they put the race ahead of themselves (or choice death if they can't).

Well current Meliodas just wants to kill them all so...

Two of the demon hostages are hugging each other.

And not really caring about things besides their own race seems to be common amongst all races. Fairy seclude themselves, the giants only side with humans to partake in glorious combat, demons only care about each other and even then it varies with the Kings sons being the cruelest and most ruthless. We haven't seen the goddesses yet and two we know of were abandoned.

And the Sitgmata alliance smells fishy.

Even the Vampires were seeking power for themselves andnbetrayed their allies when given the chance.

I didn't say they were unique in that regard, just that it seems to be how they are.

For better or worse, this series does sort of fall into the trap making it seem like human society is really multifaceted. The others get lumped into much simpler molds that, while exceptions obviously exist, most fit and don't seem to have a problem with.

Oh, that close up was supposed to be of hostages? That makes sense.

Humans live shorter lives so these things come faster. The other races would likely requires untold amounts of time to reach the same state as human society.

But, yeah, a lot of those guys were hugging actually. It's a nice touch.

So anyway, it's not that the Ten Commandments and Six Black Knights are on the same level, those giants were talking about those six also putting up a good fight.

Whether they show up later or not, it's still weird that they're only mentioned now.

Seriously still don't see why exterminating Demons is such a bad idea. Sure, Elizabeth believes there can be peace, but she brainwashes people into compliance, so her opinion is hardly reliable.

I mean, even narration at the end of the chapter calls the Ten Commandments the ultimate evil.

Both sides are pretty evil for various reasons.

Both clans are gonna be exterminated then?

Elizabeth didn't flat out mind control them, she emphasized a part of their personality that is normally suppressed. Or something similar to that. We don't know enough about the demons to say they should all be wiped out. For all we know, it's like saying humans should all be wiped out because of that one soldier who tried to kill Matrona and Diane to make himself look good. We don't know if the Ten Commandments are representative of demons as a whole.

Huh. So if it's something that's already in them, then I suppose it's kinda proof that Demons can be better. I mean, if they didn't, her magic would have no effect on them right.

People say that about humans in real life all the time. Of course, it's stupid here too.

I image the seal is the plan Ludoshel or whatever has in mind, because Nerobasta called it "our seal", referring to the Goddesses as a whole, when she noticed the Ten Commandment were out.
