Averted versus Inverted condition

On the TRON: Legacy page, there are two examples which I would have categorized as Averted but are listed as Inverted. Can somebody comment on the correct use here:

Examples:

If I remember correctly, Sam does think that CLU is his father at one point in the film. If the "reveal" was after Sam knew who was his real father, I would think it'd be averted.

Also, how would a real Inverted look like in both cases?

No point in listing an inversion, since there already is I Am Not Your Father.
