I sort of liked the pre-Death Note "Death Note" with that Taro Kagami kid, just a boy who had no clue that the Death Note actually worked, and with no Machiavellian desire to rid the world of evil.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I think I've only read Naruto and TWGOK's.
Koisome Momiji's was pretty nice, though so was he actual series before it was mercilessly killed by the axe.
On the opposite end, I really dislike the one for Food Wars.

I liked the oneshots for Nisekoi and Iron Knight better than the actual serializations. The series didn't appeal to me, but they were great to read as short stories. The Death Note oneshot was great too, but I'm glad the eraser didn't make it into the serialization because that would've been too silly.
I had no idea TWGOK, Bleach, and Food Wars had one-shots; now I want to read them.
There's something insignificant written here, but because it's insignificant, you didn't read it.
You know the drill. Those prototype oneshots manga like One Piece, Bleach, The World God Only Knows, Nisekoi, Naruto, etc, sometimes have before the series proper starts. Most often, they end up forgotten, and they only seem to show up for shounen manga, but still, which are your favorites and why? Are there any you like better than what the actual series turned out to be like?
