What is this obsession with having characters or backgrounds that look like magazine clippings in cartoons? I see it everywhere when I watch newer cartoons and I find it very disturbing.

Why aren't you laughing?
Laziness.I see it as people not willing to do work and deciding to just find stock images and put them in there show because they think the viewers will find it funny when in realaity its really lazy and some times creepy.There are a few exceptions like the realistic fish head and Hans the talking hand from Spongebob,but those aren't a majority of the shows animation and don't appear way to often to outstay there welcome.

Uncle Grandpa does it fine with Realistic Flying Tiger, I think, but that's exactly because she's the only element like that in the whole cartoon, thus achieving the desired 'weird' effect.

Well,her and the funny face.But you do have a point.Having one or two stock images in a show isn't awful and it can give the show a weird charm that isn't way too distracting,but having a majority of the animation be stock images (ie. Breadwinners) is really lazy and very distracting.
I remember a Fox a couple years back and with the exception of the characters, everything looked like magazine clippings. It was freaky.

This "animation" is lazy, uncreative, and provides a bad example for kids who THINK this is what cartoons are supposed to look like!!

I know this show really doesn't look all that promising, but shouldn"t we atleast see the show before we started saying its horrible and deserve to be flame by "critics".
