didn't even know this existed.
I'm baaaaaaackI know it it's sneak up on me as well, it was only by happenstance I was there.
basically it's the RPG version of free comic book day which itself is the Comic book version of free record day. Where the large music and comic book publishers give a load of free stuff to retailers to hand out to encourage bricks and mortar businesses in this dark age of online trade.
Well it's been gone now it doesn't hurt to pop down to your Friendly Local Gaming Store to see if there is something left and support your local business

hashtagsarestupidI picked up the Shadowrun/Battletech book, the Valiant RPG Quick Start rules, played the Pathfinder module for Pathfinder Society, and won a copy of the Dungeon Crawl Classics core book. I had a choice between several other books, so I chose the biggest. Didn't even fit into my pack with all my other stuff.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenYou lucky ducky.
Picked up the Lamentations Of The Flame Princess module Quickstart "The Doom Cave of the Crystal-Headed Children", a game system of I've always have a soft spot for even if it's made by and aimed at socially maladjusted troglodytes and got a free t-shirt so all in all no foul.

hashtagsarestupidFree RPG Day was fun. Not as action-packed as I hoped, but we got to continue our annual tradition of hanging at the store after closing time so the girl who runs the front counter could run this year's adults only offering for Lamentations for us.
It is also an annual tradition to derail this module as hard as possible.
As an added bonus, our friend Chris was visiting from his new home out west last weekend, so we got the whole gang back together to share in the madness.

This this day creeped on me, those you living stateside still have chance to run down to your local friendly gaming store and still get some free good stuff :3
