Are there more than gameplay differences? Like different cutscenes or something? It's hard to pick which one to play, really.
Also, I do like the idea of giving this its own thread. It's an entirely different universe from the regular games, so...
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Yeah there's definitely a different story between the two, which usually means there's a reason to get them both. But so far, all of the footage I saw was from the Wii U version and it looks great so far.
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakAh, that's cool. More or less why I picked up both versions of Colors and Generations.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Well the demo for the 3DS version of Sonic Boom is out and I've given it a try. Overall, it's average. The stage feels like it recycled a good part of the later stage and the game just feels so slow. Tails and Knuckles don't play very well outside of the tiny moments where their unique powers are actually useful.
I don't think I'll be getting Sonic Boom anytime soon.
“I was thinking that work is like fertilizer in that I’m glad it exists; I just don’t ever want to get stuck in it."Well that's just one level. But as long as it doesn't turns into another 3DS Sonic Generations we should be fine.
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakWhat was wrong with 3DS Generations? (I honestly don't know, I bought the console version) I know the 3DS version had some stages I wanted, and an actual co-op race, which the console version should've had instead of a crappy time attack mode.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I actually really like the 3DS version of Generations. It's a fun and serviceable counterpart to the home console version, it just lacks true 3D for Modern Sonic's sections and the cutscenes are changed from video to voiceless conversation scenes ala Sonic Battle or Sonic Colors DS (and all of Sonic's friends are absent). Plus it had its own selection of stages and bosses, which were fun on their own (Big Arms is still my favorite fight, even though it's really easy, and the final battle was much more fun on the 3DS than the home console version, in my opinion).
Shattered Crystal really doesn't even compare.

Spoiler cutscenes.
Ummm... when exactly does this hit the shelves? Although it's in beta, but this is an convincing argument to scare away the customers and create an riot within the fan base.
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakIt's out in the US right now.
Seriously, what the fuck happened? Didn't they say this game has been in development for three years by this point?
"In development" is a vague term because that doesn't describe when the actual coding began. Considering the game is meant to be a tie-in to the cartoon, "development" probably started when the show was first being conceptualized.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Sonic 2K14. Good job, Big Red Button. This'll be the first time I've skipped a console Sonic since Black Knight.
Eggman's pretty great from what I've seen, though.
This is funny. Have some drowning voices. I'm almost inclined to think the developers did this on purpose if they knew they couldn't get an actual working product.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Alrighty, here are some playthroughs of Sonic Boom.
3DS Version:

Always looking for a good MMORPG with a great community...(x4)
You are now the second person tonight I've seen use "2K14". What, is 2014 too good for you people?

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I prefer this video for the Wii U version, personally.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."It's a snowclone based on the confusingly-titled Sonic game from 2006, which is commonly referred to by the fandom as "Sonic 2K6".
And what do you mean "you people"?
No, it's called Sonic '06. The K doesn't even make it easier to type, so... you know. Just doesn't make sense, is what he was getting at, I think.

Very few people actually called it 2K6...which is just because 2000 = 2K
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Practically everyone I know uses "Sonic 2K6". It's even used occasionally on this wiki. And... apparently he's already heard at least one other person use the phrase, so it's got to be in at least somewhat common currency.
And it's not uncommon shorthand for things with 2000 + something to be abbreviated in this way just as a matter of course. For example, "RPG Maker 2003" is commonly called RM 2 K 3.
I mean, I could have said '14, but I didn't think it would be an issue? It was an off-hand comment. I didn't mean to cause a derail.
Coming out in America and Europe this November is Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal on the 3DS and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for the Wii U. Cast in the same setting of the animated Sonic Boom series, we have an brand new action-adventure game that's on my wish list. In stark contrast to the majority of the Sonic the Hedgehog game, the Wii U version contains sandboxed levels rather than linear ones. And the handheld version's gameplay is based off the Genesis era, but with longer levels mixed with problem solving. At least that's what The Other Wiki says... But I'm getting the 3DS version when it comes out.
