"So, ladies, gentlemen, to start with today's item, which way haven't we taken yet to screw our main franchise over?"
"Oh! I know! I know!"
Sonic is "fast", Delirious talks fast and he has amazing cardiovascular condition from sprinting and rolling all over the place. You can get right to filming, waiting for some coked up "actor" to get in shape for motion capture. Plus he's best friends with a rotund, bespectacled, confrontational computer nerd accused of making terrorist like threats with a lengthy enough criminal record to be banned from Canada, who tried to turn sentient beings into ROHbots. Perfect roles such as those for a movie such as this are once in a lifetime. Everyone could get into it, just have the hype machine get them an interview on some morning talk show, where these things can be explained to those not in the know, send soundbites around the internet and successful box office for Live Action Sonic The Hedgehog.
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesWhy are you putting your wrestling in my Sonic
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Why exactly does it need to be live action? Couldn't it have easily been a cartoon {CGI or otherwise} or something? I mean, we all remember the last time someone did a live action adaption of a cartoony video game franchise.

But that wasn't the last time.
I don't know, why is Sony putting a character not designed to be in 3D in my live action films? If they are going to do it they might as well use the best people for the role. You're telling me you'd rather have some bony Hollywood type wearing a suit in front of a green screen than a man whose entire craft revolves around running and rolling while wearing a costume which would naturally translate into CGI motion capture b*&#)$^%?
I mean, given what Sony did to Godzilla in 1998 I don't put it past them but maybe they will do the right thing for once and cast Cornette and Delirious.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I still love this joke image.
I agree. Why would they make a live action movie for Sonic the Hedgehog of all video game characters? Maybe this movie might be something similar to Sonic X where they have a human protagonist for the film that associates with Sonic himself. I honestly can't see why they didn't make a full on CGI film for Sonic the Hedgehog.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!It'll be the Alvin and the Chipmunks of videogame movies.
John Goodman for Robotnik/Eggman?

I was going to ask if you really wanted to see him bald, but on second thought, that'd be pretty freakin' neat.
Obviously it's a live action/CGI hybrid because they're basing it on the plot of Sonic 2006.
Welcome to th:|The question is, is this movie going to be about Sonic discovering a portal to modern day New York?
Obvious answer is obvious.
If they weren't trying, then yes. If they were trying, then it would be Station Square (or even Soleanna. I DON'T CARE. Just make it a Sonic location with humans in it!).

boop I'm more active on hereDeVito as Eggman would be worth the price of admission. (re, that YTMND) He's likely a bit on the old side for such a role, though.
For the voice of Sonic (if they were gonna cast celebrities)... I don't know... maybe Ben Schwartz... I mean, whenever I hear him do voice acting, I see a teenager. An annoying teenager, but with a few tweaks to the voice, I think they can make him sound fine.
boop I'm more active on hereFor some reason, I'm wishing that Miru was still on these boards, just so we could see his reaction to this announcement... ESPECIALLY if they were planning to make it a live-action movie!
Yup, it will be very interesting.
boop I'm more active on hereI'm reserving judgment and criticism until I have more information. That said, the kid in me is excited at the idea do sonic on the big screen.
RE: Who would play Sonic—Well, Wreck It Ralph was conscientious enough to get Roger Craig Smith to voice Sonic's cameo in that movie, and he's pretty well-established as his VA now, so I don't see why they would need to recast him. Even if RCS isn't a huge name outside the cartoon/video game industry, Sonic is still considered a household name.

We were talking about this in the Video Games section of this ol' forum. But I thought we should move that discussion here.
So... without further ado... the new live-action/animated Sonic the Hedgehog movie!

Yes, this is really happening. Personally not looking forward to it.
I'm personally more concerned for the casting of this film. Will they use the current voice actors? Or will they use celebrities?
