Did you mean out of character?
So basically the problem is that the episode has an Idiot Plot riding on Lincoln having an Out-of-Character Moment?
"Okay, yeah, I guess Ollie fits the goofy sidekick role, but being a princess doesn't mean I spontaneously sing about everything, 'kay?"Yeah. I didn't really feel like pot holing that trope in the sentence. But yeah that sums up the problem I have with the episode. OOC is serious business, whether it is part of the plot or completely unintentional from the writers who just went "Fuck it, no one will notice this plot hole".
Don't Judge me, need more views: https://www.deviantart.com/big-k-2011 | https://bigk1337.newgrounds.com/ | https://twitter.com/BigK64133Yeah, that's my biggest problem with the episode too. Describing the way the Loud household works is pretty much Lincoln's role on the show, so he should know the Sister Battle Protocol like the back of his hand. Hell, the episode should have been about him explaining it to us if anything.
Yeah, plus it makes him look like a walking bad-luck charm.
Even disregarding that Lincoln have known all about the Sister Fight Protocol by now... there's no getting around the fact that he thought this would defuse the situation:
What An Idiot doesn't even begin to describe it.
I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money.Started watching this last week. Pretty good. Leni's probably my favorite, I just hope she doesn't get really obnoxious like Spongebob did in the later seasons.
Shame to be so late to the party, but better late than never.
Shoo her in, Effie darling, shoo her in.So apparently there's going to be an episode where Lisa goes to Lincoln's school. Lisa already has a Ph D, so what's up with that? (It's nice to see the other Loud Sisters at school, though.)
Also, we need Weird Al on this show! He's been on just about every other popular 2010's cartoon. (Except for Steven Universe and this) What role would he play though?
I imagine Weird Al as some strange comedian that Luan either
A) Has a crush on
Or
B) Thinks is stealing her jokes, and wants payback.
As for Lisa, I guess it could one of those episodes where a smart character has a brain fart and has to repair their reputation or something by going back to school.
Shoo her in, Effie darling, shoo her in.I'm still wondering when Weird Al going to voice a character in a new GI Joe cartoon. He is currently in competition with Dwayne Johnson where the goal is to play a role in all three main Hasbro products (Transformers, GI Joe, My Little Pony). They are currently both tie with Al having appeared in an episode of Transformers Animated and FIM, while the Rock voiced a Mauve Shirt in Transformers Prime and starred in GI Joe Retaliation. Between you and me, I think the Rock will win as there haven't been an official GI Joe cartoon in years and there is a good chance that the Rock may appear in the New My Little Pony movie just because.
Don't Judge me, need more views: https://www.deviantart.com/big-k-2011 | https://bigk1337.newgrounds.com/ | https://twitter.com/BigK64133That would be too similar to Cheese Sandwich, his character on My Little Pony. I was thinking of him playing a comedy musician that Luna and Luann compete to get attention from.

New episodes starting February 21st, confirmed by the official tumblr.
Shoo her in, Effie darling, shoo her in.The hype train is back on track!
"We be we baby!"I can only hope... this thread has been kind of deserted for the past few months.
On a side note, is there anyone here who's also a fan of Steven Universe? I'm working on a Crossover Fic between the two works and I could use a little help.
Aw, thanks!

I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money.I'm not but if you're working on another TLH story, then I have to catch up with Steven Universe. Your fics are awesome.

I watch Steven Universe! I love that show. And a Crossover Fic between SU and The Loud House sounds really neat.

Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.According to "Making the grade", Lisa was in Kindergarten this whole time, but I thought she graduated from college! This show reveals so much on the characters' lives from time to time.

"We be we baby!"Wonder if Annais ever graduated from college while attending Preschool/Kindergarden?

Either the hype for this show has really died down, or its Periphery Demographic is just a lot smaller than I thought it was.
My guess is that the Louds just send her to Kindergarten so that she'll have some form of supervision on weekdays. It's probably not a good idea to leave her alone with her volatile experiments for nine hours a day.

I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money.Post #420. Neat.
Anyways, my thoughts on the new episodes:
The Whole Picture: It would've been a so-so episode had it not been for the cute family photos and flashbacks. I didn't care too much for the humor in this episode as the only real funny parts were the montage of Clyde getting knocked about silly because of Lincoln's forgetfulness of his seventh birthday and Rusty's little bit. Still, it wasn't all bad, though. 7.5/10.
Lock 'N' Loud: Ever since "Suite and Sour", I've been looking forward to another TLH episode that features the whole family being involved in the plot and this one, while not as funny as SAS, was still highly entertaining. There were a lot of great character interactions within the whole episode and although the booby traps weren't set off as much as I'd have liked to have seen, I still found the whole episode pretty darn satisfying. 9.5/10.
Vantastic Voyage: An unsung character of TLH is Lynn Sr. Sure, he may be the stereotypical Bumbling Dad but hey, he's hilarious. What more can I say? Anyways, for a Lynn Sr.-centered episode, I was left just a tiiiiiiny bit disappointed. Just a tiny bit. It was funny but I felt like the first half was where all the most humorous moments took place while the latter half was used more for the moral of the story to set in and not leave as much room for hilarity to ensue. Of course, I understand that's what the episode needed to have but all the same, it seemed to drag out just a little bit too long for my tastes.
I also didn't find the test drive subplot to be worth it. Sure, it was...kinda funny but I felt that tossing it aside to spend more time on the main plot would've been a much better decision. It didn't really add anything other than the family having a convenient way to get to the junkyard. Personally, I thought it would've been better for that muscly model to be their escort because of the potential for humor in that situation.
Also, one other gripe I have with this episode is that they don't really explain why Lynn Sr. wants Vanzilla back, especially after he's willing to have his family drive around in it at the end. I think it would've been better if someone brought up how they could've just kept Veronica if Lynn Sr. wasn't going to be obsessed with it anymore.
But, whatever. It was still a good episode overall. 8/10.
Making The Grade: This was the episode I was looking forward to the most and I found it kinda lackluster. Nothing...really funny happens. Things just kinda happen and even though some moments were obviously Played for Laughs, I could'nt find myself giving a hoot about most of them. I really feel like they didn't explore Lisa wanting to be "average" deep enough. It was just kinda surface level and some of the things she did, like the food fight, was stuff that we've seen her do before, so it's not like we were getting a completely different Lisa Loud. 6/10.

Its the most watched kids show in the USA....by actual kids. Its not like Steven Universe or Adventure Time that has a huge mega notorious and Loud (Pardon the pun) Periphery Demographic. But kids do love it a lot...its ratings are kind of slipping and in the kind of enviroment Nick is right now that's NO GOOD!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. They can't be as bad as when they moved Harvey Beaks to the Friday night death slot.
"We be we baby!"I think the difference between TLH and something like SU is that the latter has a deep, involving plot that lends itself to a lot of theorizing and speculating, not to mention mature themes. But TLH is just a cute, lighthearted kids' show that doesn't try to be anything more, so it's less likely to attract that adult demographic.
And yet, here I am. Now I kind of feel like a Manchild for even being here -_-
But what can I say? I gave it a look out of curiosity, and it just... charmed me.

I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money. The Loud House kind of reminds of Wander Over Yonder, especially WOY's first season. Both are fun shows that never fail to make me happy.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.
Nice job with Chaper 1 of the Steven Universe and The Loud House crossover; I gave it a follow so I'll be able to keep up with it. I knew enough about SU to be able to follow along without a problem but now I know I'll have to keep up with the show to understand future chapters.

Lori and Leni have a fight over buying the same dress, and Lincoln (who for a genre savvy guy who knows is well aware of his own sisters behaviors to a ridiculous extent) has no clue of the Sister Fight Protocol and decided to fix it in his own way.
If you ask me, it was kind of out of character of Lincoln to not know this protocol given his Crazy-Prepared nature.
