- 1 is good.
Each of them looks good to me. The losers can go on Image Links.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'll go with Eddie on this one.
1 would have my vote too, though you guys can still suggest others.
One of those suggestions gave me a Not Found, but the others look fine.
Still, just to provide maximum choice — there's also this◊.
= Spindriver =I think this image◊ of an Aztec Sun God sacrifice clearly illustrate the concept; showing both, the sacrifice itself and to whom the sacrifice is being made to.
I like 1.2 or 7. Those slightly more stylised illustrations work better for me.
Don't really have a problem with the current one, though.

Check out my fanfiction!I think number seven is the clearest.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.I actually like 1.2 best of everything in the OP, strictly because it fits the art style of the time, with 7 slightly behind it, then 1.1.

I agree with Willbyr on this.
1.2 seems best.
I think 1.2 runs the same problem as the original image in that it doesn't show why the sacrifice was killed and could thus be interpreted as someone murdering another person with a knife over a table.
I don't think anyone's gonna get 1.2 confused with non-sacrificial murder. I kinda like that one, but willing to see something better,
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Crowner's hooked.
For those among us who might prefer a work, here's one:
What work is that from?
It's a manga called Spirit Circle.
Bump for votes.
1.2 works for me.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Bump for votes.
Time to call this one. Can someone please upload and add the winner? Thanks in advance. Caption or no?

Put up the topmost image and tagged it. No source yet.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNoo! I knew I should've labelled 7 as "AAztec sun god sacrifice"!! Darn you alphabetical order!! #jokingnnotjoking
Anyway, caption or no caption?

I added a source for the artwork as caption. I guess that'll suffice.
That'll work. Locking up.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
This page picture is not terribly SFW, and not terribly illustrative either (probably because of the angle; it's not totally clear whether it's a sacrifice rather than a murder attempt).
I've looked a bit for a replacement. Most hits are from Inca or Maya religions; problem is, they tend to be bloody... Here's a couple than can make it: [1]◊ [2]◊
Others have the problem that they look more like execution than sacrifice: [[http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f5/Arago_%E2%80%93_'Supplice_Sandwich'.jpg]] [3]◊
You can find some example in classical arts too: [4]◊ [5]◊
