I don't think too much fanservice was a particularly major complaint about ME 3. In fact, a lot of the fanservice were things that ended up being what people loved most. Just look at the whole sequence with Conrad - pure fanservice, pure awesome.
And Citadel, of course, was pretty much built on fanservice, and everyone agrees that it was fantastic and the absolute best way to end the trilogy. (Certainly much better than a little message telling you to buy more stuff. Which was what we got at the end of the credits before the Extended Cut came out. That message was so unbelievably tacky and insulting. It just pissed me off.)
So, yeah, I think most people actually liked all the fanservice in 3.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. It's hard. But the priiiiiiiiize...
There's nothing inherently wrong with fanservice.
Well, maybe not the sexy kind of fanservice, because you can make a good argument for why that's wrong. But there's nothing inherenly wrong with Continuity Nods.

I mean, it's bad if you want to get new people into a thing. But considering this is the third game in the trilogy, and so much doesn't make sense if you haven't played the previous games anyway, I don't see the issue.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."There's nothing wrong with sexy fanservice too, just have good amounts of both genders.
I mean, jesus christ I wanna eat a sundae off Chris Evan's abs, and I'm a pretty straight dude.
@Julep: Dunno, the meme is referenced enough to it almost be a running gag :P
Anyway, fanservice I never said fanservice is inherently bad, just that outside of fanservice pack the dlc, it gets bit annoying at times.

I'll admit that there are a bit too many references to calibrations. To compare, the "reach/flexibility" meme is brought much more smoothly.
You know what never got meme'd and I'm disappointed about? Garrus' "Remember to stay hydrated" line on Therum in ME 1. And Tali's "You lead. I'll follow."
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowThere is so much stuff in the first game that I missed simply because I was too lazy to deviate from the combinations of characters that worked, and I was unwilling to replay it too many times.
"..."I might do for the sake of trophies.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI still haven't unlocked Liara's achievement in the first game, come to think of it, even though I take her almost everywhere, just because I usually accidentally finish more quests than I should just walking around the Citadel.
"..."This is one of the best things ever.◊
And yeah, as brought up multiple times, the weaker point of 2 are the insular characters compared to 1 and 3.
EEEEEEEE! Adorable!!
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowInsular ? What do you mean by that ?
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreErm, probably not a good idiom; meant it as pretty much island-like, interacting pretty much only with Shepard, subverting the "no man is an island" phrase.
Ah, right. ME3's interactions between squadmates was a very good idea in that regard.

Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreI need to try to catch more of those I think i might have missed Joker and Garrus' Joke-Off
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowIt is impossible to get all of them in a single playthrough; plenty of them involve the Virmire Survivor or Tali after playing a pre-Tuchanka mission; and all three of those characters HAVE specific dialogue for both the Grunt mission and the Tuchanka Turian ones.
...
Tali should have gone to engineering as soon as she got into the Normandy in 3; Garrus went straight to the guns, despite having the Primarch right there.
Well, its Tali. She probably wanted to get acquainted with the new Normandy crew, be a good Quarian spokesperson.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowWell, to be honest, what she does makes sense, she is acting in behalf of the Migrant Fleet until the end of the second act, not as part of the crew of the Normandy.
Hope I am not being too spoilerific with details, stop me if you think I'm going too far.
Also, is it just me, or doesn't Kirrahe scream "honorary squadmate"?
Kirrahe should have been one in ME 3 if you kept him alive. We needed a permanent Salarian squadmate to fill the void Mordin left.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowWait, Tali has lines for Tuchanka missions?
Don't those all disappear after Tuchanka?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Grunt's at least doesn't dissapear, and the bomb-related ones don't expire until after Thessia (but them expiring will kill Eve and do massive damage to the Krogan war assets).
Also Tali freaking out over spiders is great.
Huh. Do the scenes where you talk to Victus change at all if he's off your ship? That'd be neat to see.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
I dunno, one push up every two beats at 160bpm is still, what, 80 push ups per minute? Holy cow.
EDIT: Such a random page-topper that looks like it has no sense in belonging in the thread it's in.
