That's what I'm worried about with the movies these days. Even though there were some Disney CGI films that were pretty good, I have to worry about whether or not everything will start looking the same after awhile and therefore, we would start losing that creativity to animation in the cinema without some other form of animation to balance it out.

I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!At least their CG human models are starting to all look the same!
Well, right now there are many, many other studios that produce exactly that. The genre is not dead by any means.
My angry rant blog!I have the feeling that this CGI movement of the company's is just a phase. Such as after what a failure, "Home on the Range," was back in '04. Maybe after a few years traditional animation will come back. If not, I feel as though their CGI fare is improving and judging by character designs most of these 3D films look like 2D ones animated in 3D anyways. It would be nice to see what kind of animated film they can make now though! Seeing as technology has gotten better and better! :) why not just mix traditional with CGI and have the best of both extremes?
Knuckles does in fact chuckle, his theme song lies.I agree! I definitely would love to see traditional animation and CGI animation combine one day!
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Haven't they already done that? Paperman, Day & Night, not to mention everything on Conspicuous CG.

I honestly do not think it is a phase or a fad. CGI is easier for them to deal with, and is apparently cheaper. It is a new way of animation that is effective in many ways.
While I want traditional animation to come back in Hollywood, I don't see it happening for a while. It also does not help that the last few 2d films pre Hot R were bad films.
I have A LOT to say about a LOT of things, and NO little minded opinions will hold MY opinion back.Apparently Dreamworks is working on that with Me and My Shadow, although it keeps getting pushed back.
I am not inclined to believe that CGI is always cheaper than hand-drawings. It really depends on how they manage their budget.
I like how that TV animation uses 2D images done on computers (like Flash and Toon Boom), while all mainstream animated movies use 3D models.
Actually, I was accepted into a vocational class that will teach me how to animate so hopefully I'll learn to use a program like Flash to create a 2D image with computers. I like THAT kind of CGI more than models for some reason.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! The two Disney hand-drawn films post-Pixar-buyout were colored and composited with Toon Boom Harmony.
I know in those two shorts they have- I meant it more as, why not have a feature length film animated in that style or a television show! :)
Knuckles does in fact chuckle, his theme song lies.Ireland's Cartoon Saloon is making films that look like an elaborate version of hand-drawn television animation.
Wouldn't that just be theater-quality animation?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here......... okay yes.
They were going to do more Fantasia movies after Fantasia 2000, but that didn't do well enough for them to continue. Not sure about other anniversaries.
