Kara nodded. "Understood. I'll send my info ov- Wait, Janus?" Kara looked around the hangar confused. Who the heck is Janus? She replayed the conversation in her head.

"Now, I can guess which Frame's yours, Janus, since I knocked it over"

"You mean me?" Kara asked, pointing at herself with a quizzical look on her face.

"Can't say I've done too poorly without them. Maybe the Federation could get used to it," Isra replied with a smirk, "However, I understand. I'll do what I can to make the best of this and see if I can't prove your idea for the brass. All I ask is that you recognize there's some additional risks in becoming part of the crew of a pirateship and try to keep an eye out for us. Alright?"

She paused, "If you'll excuse me though, I probably should get to the hanger."

Becky grinned briefly, before forcibly adjusting her visage into the authoritative scowl she'd been using on Duke.

"Private First Class Rebecca Quinn," she announced herself to the snickering duo with more aplomb than her rank merited. "Federation Ace and all around awesome person," she added for good measure. "There's a bunch of others, I'm the only one who wanted to look at something more interesting than frames getting loaded from one hanger into another. You've got some pretty nice digs here," she glanced appreciatively at the room for the first time. "Better than the place we had to share with Monkey Squadron, anyway. I'll need the nicest available room for myself, by the way. Take me to it."

"Nice try, Becks," Angus said, entering the common area. It had, fortunately, been a straight shot to get here from the junction with the way to the bridge. He looked around from one crewman to the next, pausing for an extra moment on the kid in the Centauri jacket. He frowned, but filed it away as another concern about this whole sketchy endeavor that didn't need to be given voice yet. "Lucky for you I'm the only one that noticed you were missing, or Ara-." He caught himself halfway through one of his usual admonitions, and shook his head. "Anyway, let's get back to the others before the Commander does."

"Worried about getting chewed out by a ghost, huh?" Becky challenged, catching the slip. "What I'm doing is recon, which the commander will appreciate. It helps to know we're sharing quarters with a Centauri loyalist," she jerked her thumb in Duke's direction. "Come on, Angus, you could have the second nicest room if you'd just relax for once."

"What? I'm always relaxed!" Angus said, feigning that he was feigning being taken aback by that comment. "Alright, alright, pick your bunk."

Smirking in triumph, Becking turned back to the salvagers.

"As I was saying, the finest room if you please."

"Yeah, Janus, that's you. Don't know your name, made one up." It sounded like something she did rather regularly. "Somethin' wrong with it?"

The two salvagers gave each other a look, unsure whether to treat this as a joke or not. "... Uh huh. Well then," the bearded man said, keeping a straight face. "Finest quarters, coming right up." He turned and started down one of the doors, towards the center of the ship - into a hallway with rows of doors on either side. Despite being crewed by so few, the makeshift carrier had space for plenty more. "By which I mean, you get the same sort of bunks as everyone else. You're lucky this ship's so empty at all, thanks to the pilot. Otherwise we'd need a few more hands to keep this bucket floating."

"She could try to take the captain's quarters," the woman suggested with a chuckle. "But I don't think that one would go over well." With a wave of her hand, she started in the other direction. "I'm going to find something to drink. Cheers."

"Cheers," he echoed, rolling his eyes. "... Suppose it's five somewhere in the galaxy right now. Either way..."

He hit a panel beside one of the doors, and it slid open. The room inside was simple, but rather more spacious than the cramped quarters aboard the station before - Just as with the break room, all the furniture was bolted down, but judging by the marks on the floor it could be moved to the tenant's pleasure with a screwdriver. Single bed, plenty of storage... It looked more like a small apartment than anything else.

Rich civilian ships always had the best rooms, although generally they weren't also filled with old computer boards. There were dozens of them, stacked carefully along the walls and tied down with static-reducing tape.

"Uhh... We've been using some of these for parts storage, crap." He tugged at his beard. "Sorry, but we'll clear out any that you need. They're all basically the same, though - 'cept the captain's, and that's just because he took out the wall between two of 'em."

Graham grinned. "Heh, guess we're even using code names outside of battle now."

"That's news to me," Isra said as she came to the hangar, "I assume my Synthesis has been loaded already? The Shark with the FAS-W and MLW 4."

She looked around for the Shark which she would soon be piloting, while generally inspecting the state of the hangar and her Aces.

Kara just sort of shrugged. She had definitely had worse nicknames. I think. What the heck is a Janus, and didn't I tell her my name? "Nothing wrong at all Ma'am, was just confused for moment."

Turning to face her superior, she gave a small wave. "Nice to see you Commander, hope things went well."

Becky slumped against the side of the corridor, visibly let down to learn that she wouldn't be getting a superior room to the rest of her squad.

"Fine, start clearing out this one for me then," she told the bearded man. At least computer parts weren't likely to leak oil or who knew what, and there wasn't time to check what sort of junk was being stored in the other free quarters. She turned to Angus with a shrug. "I guess we might as well go see the commander, huh?"

"Hopefully before she sees us first," Angus said, stepping aside to let Becky past, then turned toward the pirates. "Eh, just clear out the next one over for me," he said, then headed back toward the hanger as well.

Graham turned and greeted her. "Hello Commander, we're moving out? Quinn and M'bala will be here in a moment, I assume."

Isra shook herself into alertness and smiled, "We should be mobilizing immediately after we are out of the flow. Make sure everything is in order, and we'll be out to battle soon. I don't know too much on the specifics of mission to be honest, except that we're probably going to be facing Knights, rather than the trainees with a single Knighted Suppliment as we did at Yaksha. Expect it to be a step up in difficulty, but this time we're expecting them. The basics of the encounter should be loaded onto your Comms."

"I can't say much about Haungzi," She sighed and turned to Kara, "He was apologetic but I don't think he'll do much to actually help us tangibly. On the otherhand, you're my XO by rank and you'll be best positioned to lead the heavy frames. I'm going to trust your expertise and experience to take care of a lot, but I might still have to shout some objectives and try to co-ordinate things. Your input will be welcome of course and we can talk more over the comm."

She pauses and smiles at Kara, in a way that was slightly unnerving and forced due to exhaustion, "Does this sound good?"

Kara nodded firmly. "Truth be told, I haven't seen active combat for a while. But you can count on me to hold down my end, I tend to be hard to kill."

"Personally, I haven't seen anything like Midgard... or worked with anyone quite like Mac Donald," Isra smiled, "We'll look out for eachother, alright?"

She looked over the rest of the group, "That goes for the rest of you as well. I'll be giving commands but above all, I want you all to remember we're a team, as strong as its weakest link. I'll expect you to go with commands once bullets are flying and not to do anything reckless yourself, but I'm not perfect and if you think you can help out, I'd rather hear it on the field than in the after reports."

"Good luck, Aces."

With that she snapped a salute over the group and headed towards her frame.

As the two aces left, the salvager stared after them, a little bemused. "'Clear out the rooms for us'..." he muttered, shaking his head. "Who do they think they are, huh?"

With a shrug, he turned back to the rooms. The captain had told them to be diplomatic, after all, and it wouldn't be particularly diplomatic to make them clear out their own spaces, he supposed.

But he hoped the payoff at the end of this was worth the trouble.

"So, the codes?"

"Received and processed, captain. We are clear to jump on your command."

"Clear us out, then, anansi, and we'll show our guests how fast our good ship can go."

The docking umbilical detached from the station's with a brief, quickly cut off hiss, the tube retracting back into the starship's side once more. Its cargo doors began to slide shut as well, a number of warning lights flashing on in the hanger.

Mag looked up, frowning at the ceiling. "Looks like we'll be underway soon. Didn't wait long, did they? Whatever. Your frames are secure, you'll be able to launch jus' fine and all." She turned and started for the wall, where a number of loading mechanisms were. "I'll get any adjustments you want done real quicklike, so decide fast."

Lightspeed, of course, was the barrier to everything. The federation could not launch their fleet if they had no idea what awaited them on the other side of the jump - not in good conscience. If the Centauri had moved too quickly, the momentum would be lost, but the Federation could not simply leap blindly into action.

The station they were moving on had no FTL communication - they had to wait for it to arrive physically. Every ship was waiting on the word to go.

The word came. Almost the entire station was under control, and only a cursory force had arrived yet to investigate.

In orbit over Samsara, the fleet's reaction could be seen easily. The light of the stars bent a hundred times over as each ship's flow drive was thrown into motion, a fleet on the march.

Soon they would arrive at the station, and the battle proper would be joined.

Graham was momentarily surprised as the ship starting clanking upon departure, and noticed the warning lights. "So, we've made the jump, huh? Time to start up our Frames?"

"Not quite. We're part of a larger formation here," Isra replied, "Be on the ready though, we'll get our order soon."
