"Run, run, or you'll be well done!" Becky taunted the fleeing Clarent. Not that its pilot could hear her or anything, but it was the thought that counted. She quickily moved Lightning Bug around the side of the building to pursue the target without turning herself into one. "Cheap, second rate equipment..." she muttered, realizing her MARMAR had overheated. "How do they expect us to win a war with this junk?" Quickly switching heatsinks, she lined up on the fleeing Nirvanite and fired.

Dodge Booster Move Up/Left 1, 1 AP move Left 2, 1 AP Replace Heatsink, 2 AP Fire on Clarent A6!

"Theia to Crim Flight," Isra spoke into the radio, "We've got a Niot disrupting out shots and keeping our heavies weakened. You are in the perfect position to flank. Dr. Snipes, could you cover an action on the rest of our flight's part?"

With that she threw down her shields again, hoping that they would hold this time.

With that said, she turned to her own flight, "We need to keep a suppressive fire on them. Brick, come up and fire another round. I'll reload and lay down shields. Sunrise, come up with him and lay down all you can."

As she spoke she moved the handles steadily to drop out an old cartrage and threw it aside on the ground.

"Wolf, Angel, I need you guys to rendez vous with Crim Flight. Take out the Clarent and help them push forward. I repeat; help them push forward. We're taking heavy fire."

With that she loaded the new cartrage and cursed under her breath, soon, this would pay off. For now, she would sit under fire and do what she could. The team would succeed... she hoped.

"Way ahead of ya, Theia," Angus said, leaning out from around the corner of the wall and taking careful aim at the nearest Clarent. He flicked ihis tongue across his lips. "Welcome to the O.R., baby. You've got a non-fatal case of life, but don't worry, because the good doctor just prescribed you some high velocity lead injections." His finger squeezed the trigger right to the firing threshold, holding it just short with practiced steadiness, waiting for his squadmates to advance before he alerted the enemy to their presence. Once they'd moved, he said, "Take two and call me in the morning," and fired.

1 AP to aim at Clarent A4, 2 AP to fire twice at A4 with the MFR-S. If can't hit from current position, move south 1, aim, and fire.

"BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!" Lilith cheered, watching her shots hit home. "Man, I'm so glad I joined back up again, this is a blast!" As the shield generator activated in front of her, she quickly moved into cover, and resumed firing.

"Already on it," Christine replied, "Angel, pepper this guy but let the other team finish him. Focus on getting around.

Christine moved after the fleeing Clarent, firing off one burst before darting to her left and getting behind solid cover as Rocket Girl moved out to take her shots. Using the short breather, she glanced at her 3-D area map.

"Crim, in a about a minute-thirty can you get everyone in your flight to shoot at the wall just south of Snipes? Rocket, form up with us once you're done with your shots. We're going around."

Roland had been uncharacteristically quiet, trying to weigh up his options. However, the sounds of his squadmates in battle made it extraordinarily difficult. "Aw, to hell with it," he grumbled as he began moving his Magellan out of cover. "This is Rodeo, you fellas need me to do anything?"

He glowered contemptuously at the debris a Clarent was currently cowering behind, took aim, and opened fire. Hopefully the pilot would be so distracted by what was going on in front of him that he failed to notice his Magellan.

Move down two and right two [1], fire at A4 Clarent twice [2, 3]

"Ugh, stuck fighting in a cave isn't exactly my idea of a fun time, but I'll just have to make do." He fired up his thrusters and moved in, blatantly abandoning cover, to get closer to the nearest Clarent.

"Here we go..."

AP 1&2: Move up 1 and left 5. AP 3: Attack Clarent A6 with Chanzhang if it's still there, throw grenade toward Clarent A4 if it isn't. AP 4: Prepare dodge boost.

OOC: AFK players have been moved accordingly. Pls come back. Also Flanker I'm assuming you meant 'left' and not right, but I could be wrong. As usual, point out if I forgot something like a moron.

"Alright, you miserable excuses for soldiers! Let's get out there and blow these cowards to Hell!" Perhaps incensed at his failure to arrive on the field quicker through his aggressive attempts to dig through the tunnels, Crim seemed rather fired up - starting towards the enemy lines with guns blazing. "Eh... Wolf Pup, is it? Aren't you a little low ranked to be giving orders?" He paused, then grunted. "... That said, she's got a good point! We'll blast the wall of that garage to the south and use their own defenses against them! I'm moving into position now, gonna use a grenade to blast it open."

It was obvious the enemy was beginning to worry, their attentions now split between the north and east flank. But they had an effective defensive position... They wouldn't retreat just yet.

"Snipes: Lost line of sight and fire on the Clarent. Acquiring the Albatrosses. Theia flight, watch your opportunities to advance," Angus chattered off secondhandedly as he ejected his spent ammo pack and slapped in a new one. Rodeo was in his line of fire now, and he watched her frame's movement carefully for his opportunity to fire. When it came, he squeezed off his first shot at the nearer albatross and then, with a precise twitch of his wrist, reaimed and fired on its twin.

"That oughta get their attention."

1 AP to reload, 1 AP to fire on Albatross A2, 1 AP to fire on Albatross A1

Graham was starting to worry now. He definitely picked the wrong gear for this mission, thinking it was gonna be mostly tunnel CQC, and the enemy was eating away at his armor. All the enemies were out of range, unless he were to invent highly improbable sword maneuvers, so there wasn't even any way for him to retaliate against his aggressors. Was there nothing he could do to alleviate the mess they had gotten themselves into?

He assessed the situation around him. Lots of missiles and bullets flying around, and little cover to go around for the rest of his team. He saw the mech next to him, and suddenly he knew what he had to do. Sunrise has sustained far more holes than him, so complaining about his own situation merely seemed like vanity now. His weapons were no good, but he could help his ally survive a little longer.

Well, Isra thought to herself; She had a full bandolier of bullets and everything else seemed to be going to plan.

While she liked to consider herself rather sober minded, it was difficult at a time like this not to take some pleasure in the leverage a weapon like the Deluge gave her; the ability to simply unload everything into the asshole on the otherside of the wall.

She pulled the trigger and felt some deep sense of satisfaction as the magazine dropped to the ground.

With a quiet smile, she loaded the next round.

"Position stable. Flanking team, how is progress on the Niot?"

A1: Fire on A5. A2: Reload.

"Hey Tachyon, that's my kill! Go find your own!" Becky shouted in annoyance. Her MARMAR just wasn't cutting it today, was it on the fritz? There wasn't any help for it, she wasn't going to charge out in the open to get blown up and instead concentrated on the hapless Clarent she'd been wittling away at.

3 AP Fire on Clarent A6 with Marmar, 1 AP Replace Heatsink

"Hey, Binty," Lilith called out, following her target on the screen, "anything in particular you'd like for me to do, or should I finish turning this Cent into a KIA?"

"Lay down a solid blanket of fire, Mac Donald," Isra replied, her tone betrayed some satisfation by the feel of the feedback on frame as the Deluge unleashed its rounds onto the Clarent, "The rest is up to Arath."

"Goddamn it, why am I always the first one to get blown up?" Oliver mumbled as he stabilized his own flailing frame.

"You know, Rocketgirl. Maybe if you weren't so slow at killing these guys, I wouldn't have to bring my butt out here to get blasted."

He took out his Chanzhang once again and prepared to go in for the kill on his weakened enemy.

Spend ALL the AP attacking Clarent A6 with the Chanzhang.

"That I can do," Lilith nodded, her fingers gliding over the frame's controls, shifting targets. "One order of explosions, coming right up!"

"You guys don't think you could lay off my target, do you?" she asked, opening the channel. "I saw it first, I shoot it first, I kill it, yeah?"

"Angel quit spacing out and move it. If you don't think you'll make it down here in time than stay their and give some fire support." Shooting your gun is only half of what combat is about. And the other half was taking too long.

Christine continued moving south, taking a moment to reload, trusting that the rest of the team would finish off the Clarent. She also eased off the throttle and let her engines cool down.

"Commander is our door going to be open on time?" Christine asked Crim.

Roland whooped with joy as he watched his trusty MFR-A's shots strike home. However, his attack hadn't been wholly untempered - for one thing the Clarent was making good progress to safety, and a muted warning informed the Magellan pilot that he had sustained a hit from an enemy Albatross. Nothing serious, but he couldn't let himself sustain too many hits.

"I'll give ya some covering fire, Crim. This should keep 'em off your back!" Coolly Roland fired at the Albatross until the magazine ran dry. He then reloaded the MFR-A, and resumed his attack.

Fire at Albatross A2 [1], reload [2], fire at Albatross A2 again [3].

"This is Crim. Charges are set, we're blowing the wall!" His Frame ducked away to the side as, with a loud crack that echoed even in the thin atmosphere of the caves, the wall was blown inwards. Inside was a huge space - an old garage for mining equipment, no doubt, with more than enough room for a Frame. "Alright, maggots!" he growled over the intercom. "We're getting in there and flanking these bast-"

He froze, staring into the smoking crater that had been a wall. There was a glow within, the greenish-blue dull, throbbing light of a plasma weapon - an enemy Frame? It must have heard him priming the charges - prepared to attack whoever came through. And the one standing directly in front of the hole was -

Was one of his soldiers!

They were idiotic, incompetant and childish, but... Dammit, they were his!

"Rodeo! Watch it!"

The Polyplas went off with a shriek and a flash of blinding greenish-blue light, a jet of plasma bursting forth. There was no room to dodge, no room to block it, and Crim's frame was directly in its path.

But it seemed the explosion - and the breaching of their rear lines - was having the desired effect. The enemy formation abruptly broke at some unheard order, falling back towards a thinner cavern at the rear of the open space. It appeared they had some fallback plan if this one had failed...

Christine cursed herself inwardly as she regretted not being more explicit the plan she had envisioned. Crim had blown the hole early, ideally everyone on this flank would have been in force around the opening before the charges went off, not spread out like this. The teams Schwerpunkt was now decidedly less concentrated than Christine would have liked.

"You three down there, knock out the Hive," Christine began commanding, "and if you can get yourself between the enemy and Crim without getting fried then do that too. Tackyon and Angel, lay down some fire and see if you can cut off the Spit's (A10) retreat. Rocket, meet up with them and keep the enemy suppressed.

Christine herself accelerated back to full and moved to join the team moving into the breach. The hive was unexpected, but it couldn't be allowed to break their momentum.

"Doc, move smidge or we'll both end up with a nasty bruise."

"Crim is down," Isra spat in anger as if it was a curse, "Rearguard, we're moving up. Wolf, Snipes, Rocket, Anyone down there; I need a situation report. Secure the perimetre, don't do anything reckless."

With that, she bolted full speed southwards, hoping the rest would follow.

"Did I hit the-" Lilith began, before letting out a howl of laughter. "Oops, sorry Tachyon! Came a little close there, wanted to kill it doubly dead. No hard feelings, right?"

"Who melted and made her queen?" Becky asked herself in response to all the orders getting barked from Wolf Pup. She switched on the comm to respond. "I'm holding position here, getting closer doesn't make my gun any more effective." She really wanted to fire on the retreating frames, but with the pitiful damage she'd managed so far it hardly seemed worth it.

3 AP Suppressing Fire on Niot A8 with Marmar, 1 AP Replace Heatsink

"Curse it all," Isra spat into the Comms, "I need my report. Someone give me a bloody status report; what is happening up there!?"

Her irritation sounded clearly though the comms, this was an order and one that desperately needed to be followed;

The more manveurable elements of their team had just been ambushed while the enemy faded away from the heavier part. Their formation was in disarray, at least so it seemed.

She moved looking behind her at Sunrise and Brick who constituted the backbone of her support. One nearly took out a team mate and the other essentially brought a sword and full plate armour to a gun fight.

This wasn't looking good. Someone needed to reassert control over the situation.

It had to be her.

She hoped.
