I'm designing a first person shooter with four playable classes, and I'm trying to base each one off of wildly different arenas. So basically, Action Hero, Science Hero, Guile Hero, and Stealth Hero. Action and Stealth are easy enough, and Science Hero is basically going to work by constructing turrets and homemade explosives, brew potions to heal/buff himself and in general use a lot of gadgets.

The one I'm having trouble with is Guile Hero. How would I simulate the quick-wittedness, fast tongue, and strategic politics of a Guile Hero in a Pv P setting? I'm willing to change the fundamental nature of their conflict in order to make him fit more, but I currently can't even think of a direction to take him.

Looking for any and all suggestions, no matter how outlandish.

EDIT: Aaaugh....is there some way to correct the typo in the title?

Greetings,

you can ask a moderator (with the yellow triangle) to fix thread titles. I did already ask for you.

The most obvious thing to me is "illusionist". Make the opponent believe things that are not true. For example a "bluff" skill that makes them have more enemies on their radar. Or, to steal a trick from the Spy, a skill that changes their friend-or-foe flag. The tricky part is making this feel like it relies on their quick-wittedness instead of literal illusion magic. I'm not sure you can make a distinction though, when the person on the other end is a real player.
