He should be but I don't think he actually is.
Something using bolt, Weak to bolt ? I'm not sure about that one.
The wiki says it's weaker to fire.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Huh. Even better.
Nightmare Slain!
EDIT: And game completed.
I have four trophies to go before I'm done though. I still need to get the other two endings, pick up the last weapon (Beast Claw), and beat the bonus boss.

Welp; finally got back at the game and killed the orphan a couple days ago. i'm late, but here's my two cents on him :
First phase has a ton of attacks where you can backstab him easily. the two easiest ones are the one where he jumps in the air toward you (not the one where he jumps backwards) and the one where he two-hands his weapons and do a huge pound in front of him.
I think the overall theme of the orphan, that is illustrated by a lot of his attacks like the jump or most of his second phase, is that he doesn't attack you so much as he attacks the general area you will be after you've backdashed and think you've dodged the attack. The jump attack in the first phase has a bad tendency to not hit me even if I stand still once I've seen the tell. And that's a recurring theme with every attacks where he extends his weapon to hit you.
Same goes for his second phase. The first impression would dictate to not stand in front of him up close, or he will murder you before you get to see the tells.
But then you discover the guy has enormous reach so keeping your distances do nothing to help you. And the punchline is, because almost all of his attacks starts by him leaping huge distances and as such have a bit of a windup, if you are right on him wailing on him, most of the time he'll harmlessly slide off of you before the hitboxes for the attack starts appearing. Second phase was mostly me R1 mashing and giving no shits about half of his attacks.
And once again, whenever he jumps off camera, I found that mostly stading where you are or slightly moving towards where he jumped works really well to avoid his attacks. This guy has a huge probelms with everything that's too close to him.
Frist phase ended up being much harder.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Fun video mashup thing.
Anyone know what weapon that is though? I don't recognise it.
I think it’s the untransformed Holy Moonlight Sword.
yup
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Is it difficult to transition from the Dark Souls series to this game?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Depends on how you played. If you relied on tank n' plank then yeah, you're in for a rude awakening.
The smartest thing you can usually do in Bloodborne is dodge into attacks and hack away as fast as you can.
Yes and no. Pretty much what said plus maybe some Damn You, Muscle Memory! moments thanks to triangle being a dedicated heal button.
But once you learn the dance of dodging death and reacting to being hit by slapping back instead of running off to heal, you'll do well.
Poise is gone, but 80% of enemies don't have it either.
Oh, and remember to keep Vials and Bullets (and Molotovs and Throwing Knives, I'd recommend) stocked up. No free refills, you gotta buy them or find them.
Yeah, this game has been a bit of a learning experience.
I beat Cleric Beast, Father Gascoigne on the second try, and am heading down to the Blood-Starved Beast now.
I'm about Level 35 or 36.
My weapons are probably gonna be for now the Saw Cleaver and Threaded Cane.
Where can I get Blood Gems that'll up the damage on these things?
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.There are a handful of predetermined gems to find in the main game areas, including the DLC.
However, Chalice Dungeons are where you'll find so many gems that if you don't immediately sell off the undesirable ones, they'll quickly clutter your inventory. They are also randomized, but specific dungeons favor specific shapes.
Playing the story gets you more than enough to keep the damage up to snuff, too. Just make sure you’re searching every area thoroughly.
Alright, I'm heading down to Old Yharnam today - hopefully it won't take too many tries to get to Bloodstarved Beast so I can start the Chalice Dungeon grind for good gems.
I am a little worried about how good I am for the area going forward.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Alright, Blood-starved Beast is down, and so is the Undead Giant.
I do not know if I'm good enough to tackle the next parts.
I got the Meme Sword, but I just do not have enough good gems...
Where to go next?
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Either go pay a visit to a blindfolded reindeer in cathedral ward, or go kill the hmwick witches in hemwick chanel lane.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Stop saying you don't know if you're 'good enough for the next part'. That's not really how these games work. You go to a new area, you encounter something new, and it kills you. Now you know about it, and can fight it next time. You become good enough, and then you progress.

There's not a ton of like "grinding" for you to do or anything.
You just gotta git gud. It's what Bloodeborne/Dark Souls is all about.
Oh really when?yeah, pretty much this. unless you lost the entire content of two areas's worth of souls (and even then it's debatable) you can't really fall behind the game's curve.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Am I the only one who thinks he’s also absurdly overlecelled for that part of the game? Like, late 30s before Vicar Amelia seems like overkill?
Doesn't sound absurd to me, especially if he does old yharnam before amelia.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."It sounded a little high to me, but not wildly so. I also thought I could be wrong, I haven't touched the game since The Old Hunters was new, so I don't remember what level is 'normal' for areas. Not, as has been sorta said, it matters much in these games; player skill is more important.
tl;dr: git gud
Ok, well then I’ll share something I did learn.
You can throw a Poison Knife at him when he’s staggered. It completely messes with his programming and causes him to do nothing for a few seconds. So there’s that, if anyone wants to use it.
He should be weak to Bolt right? I need to grind echoes for vials anyway, I may as well stock up.
