Guess Who?
#1: Apr 21st 2014 at 3:30:59 AM

Among the many planes dotting the sky at this moment, jetting their passengers to their destinations, there were four, first-class and luxurious ones heading to a remote island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Hailing from heavily-defended army bases in Nevada, Virginia, Norfolk, England and a remote place in Wales, these planes were shuttling a new generation.

A new generation, a new face, of spies and intelligence-gatherers. Specially selected, from the hundreds of millions across the target area, only a few made it. Only a few were chosen. These few now make up A.I.M.E.D. These few were on board the aforementioned four planes.

Every single one of these airplanes, was heading to an island in the North Atlantic Ocean, on the same latitude as Florida, meaning it was fairly warm. If the A.I.M.E.D recruits payed attention, they would notice that the island itself was fairly small, 40 miles long and 20 miles wide. There were barely any buildings, the only ones visible were small cabins, dotted around the island of which there were 6. There was a lake, which appeared to be the only water source. Most of the island was fairly wooded, which birds circled around. All in all, it was rather baffling, if you weren't in the know.

All four planes touched down onto the runway within a minute of each other. The plane from Wales, arrived first, followed by the one from Norfolk, the one from Virginia, and lastly, the plane from Nevada. It was exactly 3:30 PM when the last plane touched down.

It was then that the recruits were ushered out of their transportation, and met by their guards, half a dozen for each recruit. The children from the UK, were met by stern-faced British soldiers, with SA 80's, while the Americans were escorted by U.S. soldiers, with similar expressions to their British counterparts, wielding M16's.

Hurried onto a waiting bulletproof military truck with blackened windows and more guards protecting it, plus two GPMG's, the children were ordered into comfortable, leather seats, an oak table in front of it, with refreshments. As soon as the last child sat down, the truck sped away, surrounded on all sides by four military jeeps. All in all, they had spent a barely noticeable amount of time not in a vehicle.

From a speaker, came a voice which could only be the driver, "You'll be meeting the commander in around 10 minutes. Enjoy the ride if you can, and have some refreshments. Get to know one another." The message ended, and the A.I.M.E.D recruits were left with only their fellow members to talk to.

Sophia, her Evil Hair restrained in a pony tail and dressed in a pants suit surveyed her companions.

An absolutely tiny girl in baggy clothes who looked like the youngest.

A tall, older girl who looked and dressed like a gypsy with blue hair. Would probably be the most difficult to manage.

A short, but well built boy with messy blond hair and casual, rumpled clothes.

She gave the girls her Number Two smile that said "we're all in this together, we might as well be friends" then switched to Number Three with the boy which conveyed "You might have a chance with me but don't push it."

Aloud she said, "Hi, I'm Sophia."

Danny leaned back into the leather seat, with his arms folded across his chest. His eyes moved between the other recruits, to the cans of pop on the table, to the opaque windows of the truck. His memory was his greatest asset, so he made sure to pay attention to everything he could.

He'd received some basic training since the time he was "adopted" from the orphanage in Wales, a mix of different skills that a covert operative would need. However, none of that involved mingling with girls. What was he supposed to do about the one sitting across from him giving him that look?

Nothing, he decided. It would be easier if he kept everything professional.

"Hi, I'm Sophia."
"Daniel", he said to no one in particular, in his characteristic flat tone. "Daniel Smith."

Sophia frowned ever so slightly and pursed her lips at Daniel's non-reaction. Gay? Asexual? She filed these possibilities away for future consideration but, since she wasn't actually interested in him her ego was not bruised. She extended her hand towards him. "Pleased to meet you," she said with just a hint of warmth in her voice. If he took it her handshake would be firm and assured but without the macho strength testing guys so often indulged in.

Charlotte Walker, or Charlie as she was known as, readjusted her white lace tablecloth shirt (with a vest top underneath to hide her cleavage) and tan curtain skirt, and stretched out. The journey from her small village in England to here had tired her out, and she wanted nothing more than to just curl up and sleep. Tying her midnight blue hair back with a ribbon and sipping her cup of tea, she examined her surroundings in great detail, her speciality.

"I'm Charlie Walker," she said to the wall opposite.

Professional, the boy reminded himself as he took Sophia's outstretched hand. "How do you do", he said, but though his voice remained steady, his handshake was perhaps just a tad rushed.

Upon breaking contact, Danny took a can from the table, turning it over in his hands as he scanned the label. Then he pulled the tab open and took a sip as he held the can with both hands. He noticed Charlie's eyes scanning the interior of the truck, much like he'd just been doing. This made him wonder if the others had similar training.

Then again, perhaps not. He couldn't imagine the freckled squirt in loose clothing performing a judo flip anytime soon. What was she, ten years old?

Sophia was beginning to wonder if her companions were borderline autistic. That would make managing them...problematic, still too soon to form conclusions and regardless, she'd still have to work with them. After shaking Daniel's hand she turned her attention to Charlie.

"What an in interesting ensemble," she commented, radiating sincerity. "Did you create it yourself?"

Charlie looked up from her cup of tea. "Erm... Yes, I did..." she blushed slightly, the tips of her ears going red. "This top was from my grandma's lace tablecloth, and this skirt was a pair of my parents old curtains...".

Here comes bad news talking this and that, yeah,

Well, give me all you got, and don't hold back, yeah,

Well, I should probably warn you I'll be just fine, yeah,

No offense to you, don't waste your time

Here's why

Upbeat rhythms boomed through the headset. The black suction cups on the sides of her head added to her already cartoonish look; she was like Minnie trying to wear Goofy's clothes. Jennifer Frisby barely noticed her "teammates'" moving lips, and didn't hear a word they were saying. Even so, she could tell these kids weren't doing too good. They needed to get happy!

Snatching a Mountain Dew from the table, little Frisby dropped her mouse ears and blew a massive pink bubble. She stuck it on the side of her soda as she enjoyed the sugary goodness.

"Hiya!" she grinned between gulps, "I'm Mouse."

Charlie regained her composure. "How do you do?" she asked, taking another sip of her tea. What an odd little girl she thought to herself.

Sophia used the interruption to look at the beverage table. Disdaining the various sodas she smiled when she saw some sparkling water, lemon-lime flavored, and opened the bottle then took a sip. Then she turned to Mouse and said, "Sophia," reaching out her hand.

"How odd," Charlie spoke to no one in particular, "It's like they knew what our favourite drinks were in advance. It wouldn't surprise me." She reached out to get a biscuit to dunk in her tea. "And this tea is spot on."

"Oh, where are my manners? Name's Charlie. Charlie Walker." She reached over to the china teapot and poured herself another cup of tea.

Is this it? she thought to herself, stirring in the milk.

"I assume we were all chosen for our unique talents", Daniel said. "At least that's what I've been told." He leaned back and took another sip of his drink. If he was going to be working with these people, might as well have everyone know what everyone else is capable of. "Photographic memory. I can remember anything I've seen."

"Target practice?," Sophia said with a raised eyebrow. Guns, bows, knives?" Then she smiled and added, "Knitting needles?" Inwardly she was making a bet as to if, when and who one of them would ask her own specialty. With her self proclaimed observational skills, it would probably be Charlie. On the other hand Mouse was the most outgoing.

Mouse plopped the empty Mountain Dew on the table, satisfied.

"So are we gonna kill people and stuff, or what? Cuz I don't think a buncha kids could kill adults. Specially ones with guns."

"I sew my own clothes, so I have a very good attention to detail. Knife throwing, archery, firing guns... Whatever it is, I will hit the target right on the bullseye." Charlie said in her calm voice. After her little blushing and stuttering incident, she tried hard to keep all emotions at bay and remain cool and collected. Keep it professional, Charlotte, keep it professional...
