When did professional voice actors start to become more commonplace in video games? I know King's Quest VI had Robby Benson and Tony Jay but when it was released in 1992, you would more likely hear game characters be voiced by staff members or people they got off the street.

When V As stopped giving so much of a turd and developers/publishers started forking over the dough.

PC games started to take voice-acting more seriously with their Adventure games in the early 90's.In consoles,though,I think it was with Metal Gear Solid(Snatcher had a great dub despite using a bunch of unknown but nobody cared about the game back then...)
