This seems weird. Sometimes developers just choose to develop a brand in directions that no one asked for. It could be a good game, and I've played a few good f2plays - but I've also played a lot of bad ones. One hopes they'll focus on profiting via cosmetics, and that this won't cannibalize the single player/coop nature of the series in the long run.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.

So yeah, this is a thing.
The new Orcs Must Die! goes free-to-play, multiplayer-only and competitive. While I admit that, as a fan of the first two OMD games, I reflexively hate these changes, I can't help but be intrigued by them. It's free, it's OMD, I might just call up my usual co-op partner and see if we can have any fun with this.
