All Purpose Yu Yu Hakusho fanfiction thread

This thread is for the Yu Yu Hakusho franchise, which is a shonen series from the 1990s. Feel free to share fanfiction stories/ideas and tell everyone whatever ideas you have in mind, whether they have crossovers or not.

Recommended fanfics/fanfic writers doing stories based on the franchise are also allowed.

Only YYH fic I've read was "Reikai Sensei Kuwabara", a crossover with Mahou Sensei Negima wherein post-series Kuwabara became a teacher and his first job wound up being at Mahora, occasionally having moments of Big Brother Mentor toward fellow newbie professor Negi.

It was by Kyugan, one of my favorite authors, so naturally I recommend this fic to anyone of the sort who'd read it.

Went to read it. Nice to read up on a Kazuma-chased fic where he's involved.

For the shippers out there (and those who don't mind slash in their fic) Zelia Theb is a bad ass writer. Would recommend Agent Dark Moose but, alas, alot of her work is dead (no hope of resurrecting them).

Would anyone know if there are any good Bui-centric fics? Continuations would be preferable, as I've long been interested in what might have happened to him following the Dark Tournament.

Not necessarily. Are you talking about a 1-shot or something that's finished/abandoned?

Years ago, I wanted to write a Dragonball Multiverse-style Hakusho fic about the from the Yu Yu Hakusho anime epilogue. Taking a bit from the manga, King Enma's hand in throwing villains at the Spirit Detective team would be discovered, and in an effort to cover up his error, he uses his cosmic power to draw upon a number of 'possible timelines'.

And, naturally, he decides to have them fight to the death to determine which timeline would continue to exist. Tournament. If the main timeline gets wiped out, well, King Enma doesn't have anybody in the mortal plane to remember his crime, other than Koenma, perhaps. Excuse Plot is such an ugly trope.

Anyway, I don't have the old list I made up, but some of the Teams I remember were: Team Urameshi obviously, with Yusuke doped up on his own version of Sacred Energy, Kuwabara with his Dimension Sword, Hiei, and Kurama. There'd be a team featuring the Younger Toguro and Genkai, back in their prime, and Toguro's original team, in a world where Toguro managed to fend off the demon that slaughtered his students. Another would be Team Ichigaki, having successfully taken Yusuke and Kuwabra's bodies during the Dark Tournament. Another team whose only member was Rando, having defeated Yusuke in Genkai's tournament and proceeded to not only learn the Spirit Wave, but several other techniques. The last one I can remember was a Team with Raizen, from a world where he never stopped eating humans.

The drive of this being, purely, to revisit the old and later villains. I was always bummed how most of the early villains never showed up or were referenced again in the anime (granted; Hiei, and then the Saint Beasts all died). Plus the Sliding Scale Of Villainy in series like these have always interested, rather than appalled me, and showing how much stronger Team Urameshi became seemed fun.

Never got around to even writing it though. Just made a list of what-if teams.
