"Well, they're usually treated like crap in Mnara'e's capital city, if they aren't kidnapped by the various mafia factions and serve them in harsh conditions, or starve to death, they're either sent to jail by our already incompetent police because they dared to touch someone who isn't poverty stricken among other excuses, or they turn into servants of nobles and likely treated nearly like slaves. Or they live in fear that one day, these things will all happen to them. The only hope they can cling to is minimal. So they turn to cynicism, because trusting anything will not turn out well."
Alfred spat at the ground and clenched his fist, his past was hardly anything pleasant for him to talk about detail.
"You have not seen the things they have to go through, nor have you experienced them, so you can't really understand why they think like they do. Simple as that really."
"Never claimed I could..." Replied Wulfric, letting out a small sigh.
"Anyways, sorry for bringing that up, I guess..."
Rise Above Fate
Glen had managed to find a fairly quiet spot to listen to whatever it was Ozpin was going to say to the assembled crowd. In the meantime, the young man bided his time by sharpening Mors' blade and repairing the sword's grip.
Ai sat on the other side of Alexia, legs crossed, waiting with her scroll in her lap. After a moment, she leaned over to whisper something to Wulfric.
"Hey, partner. I have a favor to ask you. You have a car, right? Would you be willing to take me out grocery shopping in Vale after class? I need it before tomorrow."
Kazumi was sitting in a chair, her tail waving absentmindedly from side to side.
"I wonder what this is all about?"

Alexia flinched as Al recounted his life. Maybe Al was right...she had been raised in a palace all her life....how could she understand what he had gone through?
But....
She could still help him. She couldn't change the past, but make the future better....She could definitely do that.
....And Al just gave her an idea of what to do first when she was Queen.
Lexi, once more, took Al's hand in hers and said softly. "I'm not like them. I swear, I'll be worthy of your trust."

Al sighed at Alexia as she apparently tried to do therapy sessions to him.
"Oh but Lexi, don't you understand? Speaking really gently like you just did means nothing to me, words are just not the same as actions. If you want me to trust you that is. Actions have far more value." He said in a soft manner obviously mocking her previous tone. He in fact, nearly phoned in crying for the sake of humorizing it, but he said the next sentence in a more serious tone.
"Talking like that is not helpful. Actually, it is the opposite, that kind of annoys me. So eh... Stop doing that." He commented as his eyebrow rose.

She pointedly ignored his second comment.

"Uh, yeah, sure thing, Ai, I can help with that." Wulfric replied, nodding to Ai.
"You need a lot of stuff, or...?"
"We might have to shop around a little but it's nothing big," said Ai.
"Anyway, I wonder what keeps Ozpin so occupied during times like this?"

At that moment, Ozpin finally made his way into the room. As soon as he arrived on the stage, Glynda glared at him at him so hard it was a wonder he didn't spontaneously combust. Ozpin merely laughed at this.
He took the microphone and began speaking. "Hello, students! You might be wondering why I called you here."
"Well, as most of you upperclassmen know, every 13th of Tempestas, there is a certain Beacon tradition."
Alexia raised an eyebrow. She had a bad feeling about this...
Ozpin smirked. "I'll be blunt. Every year on this day, our esteemed Huntsmen in training embark on a panty raid to sate their raging hormones."
The boys immediately shouted their protests while the girls nodded their agreement.
Alexia's jaw dropped. P-panty raid?! What? Surely, Ozpin would put a stop to this!
Poor, naive Lexi.
Ozpin continued. ".....So, we've decided to make this year's panty raid an official event."
There was a loud chorus of "Whaaaat?!" and even "The fuuuuuck?!"
"That's right! Starting nine tonight, each dorm will try to obtain the underwear of the opposite sex whilst protecting their own. The team who holds on to the underwear until three in the morning will be the victor!"
"And to make things more challenging, the staff will patrol the campus, and you must not get caught. Getting caught equals a week-long Portishment, courtesy of our esteemed Peter Port. Victory, meanwhile, results in extra credit for all your current subjects."
"Afternoon classes will be suspended two hours early to give you time to strategize..."
Alexia was all but hyperventilating at this point. Her brain had practically turned to mush.
"That's all. Dismissed. Good luck."
The room erupted with noise, not the least of which was Alexia crying out in despair.
"Noooooooo!"

"You gotta be fucking kidding me." muttered Wulfric under his breath, taking his head into his hands.
Not only did he not want anything to do with this event, which was in his opinion pretty damn stupid, He would pretty likely be forced into it anyways. That, and he's the only male in his team, making him outnumbered in his own dorm room.
Wulfric let out a small sigh, glancing at his teammates. He was not going to enjoy this.
"Oooooh, this sounds like it'll be mighty amusing tonight. Hehehe." He laughed as he thought whether he should defend his own or attack the other dorms.
He realized he should be defense. If he had to sneak somewhere he might give in to habit and accidentally injure one of the teachers.
"Now how do I make noticing all the failures of people trying to be stealthy even more amusing?"
And then a sinister idea came to his head. as he smirked and looked at Alexia.
"Calm down princess it's just for fun. Oh also, I want to make a bet with you."
"If you manage to snatch my underwear without me even noticing you once, I will do your bidding for an entire day. And, if I win, you stop doing that annoying soft voice of yours that is giving me headaches. How about that?"
Wait? You KNOW me?
Ghatz scratched his head, confused. "I don't... I don't get it." He looked to his fellow students for understanding. "One, why is everyone freaking out so much? It's just underwear! And two, "raging hormones"? I know you all are prisoners of your own desires, but I'm not, and I don't understand how that would help you repress them." He settled back into his seat, non-plussed. "...Waste of time, you ask me."

"Stealing underwear? Is that also a Valoran tradition?" Charisse continued being confused. The people of Vale seemed to have very weird concepts of holidays and celebrations.
Shame about the whole "Winning with the underwear of the opposite sex thing". She would have certainly preferred someone else's.
She didn't even have a stealth-based semblance. Come to think about it, did anyone she know have one?
Not somebody she knew, but certainly someone she'd meet. Ozpin hadn't said anything about forbidding teachers from participating, and Lady De la Vega planned to take full advantage of that.
Everybody else seemed a bit too mature to participate, and normally Lady De la Vega was the epitome of refinement and maturity. Ozpin just happened to be too alluring for her to resist.
Plus, it'd be nice to see what kind of heat the headmaster was packing. She blushed at the thought; she was certain her fantasies would pale in comparison to the reality of the situation.

He was not going to not use today to make her stop talking in that gentle voice of hers that only annoyed him, nor did it seem like he was going to back down. So he pushed whatever button he could to make her angry enough to accept his challenge.
"Come on now, are you afraid you'll fail? Or is it that the little princess can't bring herself down to the level of the common people?"
"These are one of the reasons I'll have a hard time trusting people like you Alexia and why I hate blue bloods, you don't bring yourself down to the level of "low scum". You're too proud full of yourselves for no reason. This is one of the best ways for you to gain my trust honestly."

Alexia glared at him. "No. Don't you dare imply that. My station in life has nothing to do with this. This is a personal reason. And I have never in all my lofe looked down on people simply for being non-noble. My father was a dirt-poor farmboy, you smug jerk. You can't use that excuse."

"Man, you're no fun." He said with a frown before realizing he doesn't want her to be angry at him every day, especially not if he was going to live with here in other places, not to mention it wasn't fun to do this with her acting so indignant.
"Whatever, it seems I've angered you with my jokes. And for that I guess I have to I have to say I'm sorry." Though Alfred faked the apology he wasn't someone who didn't fake sincere apologies before. Especially near nobles, it was a skill he gained long ago. It hardly seemed as obvious as one of his phony tears.
Ai checked her watch. She wanted that extra credit.
"Two classes off, excellent. Enough time to get that grocery shopping done, get back, start cooking, and then draw up a battle plan," she said, loftily.
She stood up.
"Right. Shall we hurry, partner? I'm sure you don't want to waste any more time than I do."
"Uh, yeah, yeah, sure..." Wulfric absentmindedly replied, nodding to Ai.
Mack was drawing in his sketchbook too. Or at least his scroll's sketching application. And he too was drawing a potential love interest who was resplendent in metal. Right now he was drawing her rear.
"Mhmmm" he whinnied silently to himself. Then he paused, thought about it for a second, and realized that she was naked back there right now. He started drawing an outline of a ladder on the back of the trailer.
