I hope Roger knew to include a Polymerization card or Goyo Emperor has some sort of Contact Fusion effect, because otherwise I imagine the following happening:

(#227's been backed into a corner, suddenly he breaks out the usual Fusion chant and pose)
#227: Fusion summon! Goyo Emperor!
Yuya and the rest of the Lancers watching: What?! Impossible! How is he Fusion summoning?!
(#227 plays card. Nothing happens)
(Duel Disk razzes)
Yuya: ... (attacks with Odd-Eyes Saber Dragon and wins)

In any case, yeah, that would just be the best.

But that wouldn't be 227's fault, as much as it would be Jean's fault for not giving him everything he needs to make the summon work....

Wow. I do like that. I wonder if Jean would still hire him back afterwards, since 227 would have done everything he'd been asked to do?

Unfortunately, that won't happen, but it would be cool.

I think it's pretty obvious that he thinkss 227 is just a disposable pawn and he's giving 227 false hope.

227 is 100% disposable. Jean wants Sergey to win.

Then I hope Sergey reveals his connection to Academia, and kills him.

And if they are both with Academia, I hope it's jean who outlives his usefulness.

YES! Another person who wants Jean-Michel Rogers extremely punchable face to be destroyed!

I just really dislike Jean because he's a chessmaster manipulator in an anime where we already have much more interesting manipulators (Reiji & Leo).

Duel 70. AND ACTION!

• Hm, Serena's punching bag seems to have put up quite the fight, what with having Undead Summoned Skulls. But with how glossed over this duel was, Tony served his punching bag role well.
• Jack's interested in Reira, because he reminds him of his past. Also, Sam? You are so wrong about Jack being a sell-out.
• Gee, Yuuya, you sure stuck to your smiles over food philosophy.
• Well, Yuuya's all fired up now! ...Hey, despair gods? Yeah, he's ripe for the picking again.
• Huh. Didn't think generic Duel Chaser guy would appear again. And with a Goyo Fusion on top of that. But...why's the Emperor a Fusion? That traitor!! Or maybe it's because he's royalty and he's clearly better than his plebeian kin.
• The outcomes of the match-ups are obvious. Except one. Shun vs. Dennis, who'll come out on top, I wonder?

My guess is that bird is going to force Dennis into a situation where he would have to fuse. At that point, Dennis will realize winning is not worth blowing his cover, so he would mess up just like he did with Serena.

Maybe some sort of Kefka Palazzo expy as his fusion monster. That'd be kind of awesome to watch.

Considering Yusei used Draco-Equiste, this could be a good call back.

Maybe Odd-Eyes Archer Dragon should go to Yuzu. Archer does work well with a twin-tailled, ZettaiRyouiki, Type-B Tsundere. We already have Lancer though.

DC 227 vs. Yuya begins. The crowd boo's him as he enters, but when he tries to spread the word on the punishment of losing, the crowd just cheers on them fighting. With some new, lower level Odd-Eyes Pendulums, Unicorn, Lizard and Phoenix, he (I think) is able to copy the original Odd-Eyes Dragon effect, attack and name. The crowd continues to boo him as DC 227 uses Polymerization to Fusion Summon Goyo Emperor. He take control of Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and all his monsters. Yuya goes Berserk and saves himself. He pulls Odd-Eyes Saber Dragon which destroys Goyo Emperor and return control of Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon to direct attack and win. Everyone cheers him on as he he tries check DC 227's pulse...

Next Week! The Battle of the Blond Idiots. Whoever wins, we get entertained.

Whoa! I didn't expect anything that drastic! Even checking his pulse? Also, is 227 in his security uniform, or do we actually get to see his face?

So is it hypocritical of the Commons to be A OK with the loser being sent off to labor camp when they always complain about the tops and their apathetic/disdainful attitude towards them?

I'd say so, but I'm waiting for a translation to be totally sure.

Also, this one felt different from the other times Yuya went berserk. Less like he lost control, and more like he just kinda.......gave in this time.

I didn't see or hear anything about checking pulses. Yuya just ran in his general direction while desperatly pleading the medical team not to take him into forced labor.

On other note, I think this was one of the worst duels for Yuuya because he did get lots and lots of egao, but it was not the egao he wanted.

Got a lot of catching up to do. As of my most recent viewings, the team arrived in in the Synchro Dimension, fought Sector Security then Yuya met Crow(!!!), Gongenzaka and Dennis were street performers, Yugo and Yuzu are crazy people and now Gongenzaka and Dennis are going to the pros or something.

Having read the script part about the losers get sent to forced labor deal, everyone knows about it. Including the Commons. It seems to be the one thing they all agree on. It's a sign of how screwed up this society is that no one has a problem with it. Tokumatsu is the only guy that seems to have a problem with it and he was in jail when the tournament first began.

Also poor 227 never stood a chance. Yuya would have won on his second turn if he wasn't hesitating.

And now I've seen the sub. Jean says that Yuya showed his true character here. Damn, so another person who believes that Yuya is just pretending to be a good person, who's not coincidentally an asshole himself.

And Reji suspects that Fusion is already present in the Synchro Dimension.

Honestly it bugs me he comes to that conclusion first instead of suspecting that they did what he did and created cards based on the data of what they observe. It's not like Jean hasn't learned about all these new card archetypes recently and has the resources of Security that develops the Goyo monsters.

It makes more sense for Academia to be around though. We don't know for a fact that City has the same technology as Standard and even if they did it would probably take longer to make Fusion cards than Pendulums because they need to develop both the Fusion itself and Polymerization in addition to testing the cards out.

Shinji's a douchebag. I hope he gets carded.

Why bring up Shinji all of a sudden?
