Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

BTW, the reason why I am using The Needs of the Many is because "For the Greater Good" (which is closer to her actual mantra) redirects to it. It might be that she actually doesn't fall into that trope. Because what is "The Greater Good" for Vishkar Corporation? Do they even believe on saving more people than what they are trampling on?

Also, funny how two suggestions I am sort of afraid of doing have to do with characters in opposite points in alignment (Symmetra is Lawful Neutral, Illaoi is Chaotic Neutral).

What do you think I should add to Lunatone and Solrock?

Lunatone and Solrock, Dual Deities of Celestial Faces (The Meteorite Pokemon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/solrock_lunatone_169.jpg
  • House: Planetary and Celestial
  • Lesser Deities
  • Symbol: A Moon and Sun Stone respectively
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Ability: Levitate
  • Gender: Genderless
  • Moveset:
    • Lunatone: Moonblast, Stone Edge, Light Screen, Psychic
    • Solrock: Solar Beam, Stone Edge, Sunny Day, Psychic
  • Portfolio: Solar and Lunar, Psychic Powers, Sentient Meteorites, Many Type Weaknesses, Mighty Glacier, Leviate (both of them), Lunar Faces, Lunacy, Can Know Ice Beam (specific to Lunatone), Solar Faces, The Power of the Sun, Can Learn Fire Moves (specific to Solrock)
  • Domains: Rocks, Meteorites, Space, Psychics
  • High Priest: Mr Shine and Mr Bright
  • Followers: Mac Tonight, Craterface (Lunatone), Mr Sun, Sunbeard (Solrock)
  • Allies: Deoxys, Beheeyem, Xatu, The Fantastic Four, Android 17 and 18, Mogo, Rayquaza, Galaxy Man (both of them), Princess Luna, Diana, Reisen Udongein Inaba, Tyrande (Lunatone only), Princess Celestia, Volcarona, Amaterasu, Leona (Solrock only)
  • Enemies: Davey Jones, Cyrus (both of them), Dr Eggman, Piccolo (Lunatone only), The Grand Duke Of Owls, Nightmare Moon (Solrock only)
  • Opposes: Water users, Heatran (both of them)
  • During a travel to a meteorite site, people discovered two new Pokemon; Lunatone and Solrock. Known as the Meteroite Pokemon, these sentient rocks greatly resemble a sun and and crescent moon respectively. When Tate and Liza learned that these tropes were open, they helped the two to get ascended.
    • It's believed by many Pokemon researchers that Lunatone and Solrock come from space, being living meteorites. Second hand sources from Deoxys and Beheeyem have confirmed they're extraterrestrial. They're good friends, as alien Pokemon stick together. Unlike many of the scientists at Mossdeep Space Center, they believed Deoxys meant no harm however were glad Rayquaza interfered to prevent any nasty incident.
  • The two got into some trouble with Kirby, due to briefly mistaking them for Mr Shine and Mr Brine, but Kirby quickly realized they were not the same. The two Dream Land figures serve as high priests in case they aren't available, being they can also fuction as a proper moon and sun respectively.
  • Despite being based off the moon and sun, Lunatone and Solrock can not learn Moonlight or Morning Sun unless found in the Dream World. Yes, even though they can also learn other moon and sun-related attacks. Mentioning this annoys them greatly. Lunatone's shiny form also happens to have a blue eye, which may be a Stealth Pun on the rarity of shiny Pokemon
    • They were very interested to learn that Pokemon Sun and Moon was a thing, and are hopeful that they will get a Mega Evolution or Alolan Form there-though they half-suspect they won't get anything just to be contrary. The Meteorite Pokemon also hope to meet the new Pokemon Minior, due to it being the Meteor Pokemon and kind of looks like them.
  • Lunatone and Solrock have great synergy with their partners Tate and Liza, being twins of a sort themselves. They help out with research in Mossdeep Space Center, and later on the space research in the pantheon. You can usually find them and their trainers with Galaxy Man in order to determine rocket paths.
    • The two of them proved to be fanboys of the Fantastic Four for their exploration into space, and happily sought out employment with them. They ended up discovering the Green Lantern planet Mogo, who as a colossal yet friendly celestial object they saw it as a possible friend. During these adventures they test out the limits of their psychic abilities and Levitate ability.
  • The two Pokemon may not have the same composition as the celestial bodies they resemble, but they do have an association with them; Solrock is solar powered, while Lunatone gets stronger in the full moon. The two seem to get stronger when closer to solar and lunar deities respectively, particularly the princesses of Equestria, Diana and Leona. Were they not spoken for with Tate and Liza, Lunatone and Solrock would have considered partnering with one of them each.
    • Lunatone and Solrock occasionally hold Stardust, or a Sun and Moon Stone respectively. Though there are few ascended Pokemon whom these items would affect, they're still relatively valuable. They've managed to make some bucks off selling these precious stones in the House of Commerce. In addition, Solrock has an odd alliance with Volcarona since they're both the sun Pokemon, in spite of Volcarona being really weak to Rock-type moves.
  • Lunatone does't like Dr Eggman or Piccolo, due to the same crime; their devastation on the Moon, which deeply hurt him. Likewise, Solrock dislikes the Grand Duke of Owls and Nightmare Moon for trying to put out the sun. Both agree that Cyrus needs to go; Team Galactic's interests in meteorites and other phenomena from outer space has led Cyrus to try and capture them for his purposes.
    • Vulnerable to steel, putting them on edge around Heatran because all three hang out in caves. They're more concerned about the drowning powers of Davey Jones however.

@Io's voice actor: Io is voiced by itself. This is how Io's response lines sound like.

And yeah, Chaos Knight and Io is a strong combo. Io's main playstyle is essentially to make the team's carry even more lethal by healing them, giving them mana, increasing their attack speed and reducing all incoming damage toward them. Also saving them from ganks and death by relocating them far away, at the cost that the enemy team will likely kill Io when it returns. Chaos Knight is one of the hardest carries, so naturally they go well together.

So basically, Chaos Knight+Io = Death.

So, do we have a god of Made of Explodium? Because...I have candidate.

  • Symbol: Their grinning faces, or silhouettes.
  • Image
  • Rank: Lesser Gods apart, Intermediate together.
  • Theme: Pocket full of 'Splosion
  • Portfolio: Being a bit Crazy, Being smarter than they appear, having way too many references at random, Exploding on people
  • Domains: Chaos, Explosions, Neutrality, Destruction
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good at best, Chaotic Neutral at worst
  • Allies: Junkrat and Roadhog, most fire gods.
  • Enemies: Most water gods.
  • Opposed by: Most Lawful gods are wary of this duo due to their chaotic nature. Essentially, every lawful neutral/evil god except for the most evil ones fear these two since wherever they go, disaster follows.
  • It was originally thought that Ms. Splosion Man would be Splosion Man's high priestess, but it was decided that they would be brought into the Pantheon together since they were so similar.
  • The err...'Splosions are practically idolised by Junkrat, who has always dreamed of infinite explosions. He sometimes tries to join in on their adventures, but Roadhog always hooks him back before things get too dicey. The pair are also respected due to their clashes with talking, possibly thinking robots.
  • This happy couple can often be found in the vast underground labs of the Technology Pantheon, essentially an obstacle course built for them to explode all they want with no one getting seriously hurt.
  • No one really knows how these two ascended. They just...appeared one day, exploding everything in sight. Due to how well they exemplified the trope, they were allowed to ascend...under tight supervision, of course.
  • Few seem able to fully comprehend the 'Splosion couple's speech, but they seem to communicate primarily in jokes and references that sum up how they feel.
  • If a god should ever need to contain these two, fire is NOT advisable, as it will only just supercharge them. Try water instead, as they will avoid it like the plague.
  • The SCP Foundation is concerned that the Pantheon would ascend barely sentient beings such as these. They are evaluating the Splosions as SC Ps and preparing containment procedures. They don't appreciate the jokes that SCP stands for 'Sploding Cranium Policies by the duo either.

It'd be something like this. Just a test thing.

[up] I don't think so, but good luck finding an actual character for it.

@nightelf: Yes, she does believe she is doing the right thing, but how Vishkar advices her and her own... differences makes it sort of hard for her to really realize why what she might be doing might not be as good to others as she believes. Like she was once tasked to break into the office or a corporation they were butting heads with for building rights in order to find any dirt of them, and she was fine with it to progress Vishkar's view of the perfect world. It wasn't until the guy leading her blew up the office building after she found nothing out of the ordinary of them, what would danger the people in the nearby favelas, what also caused a girl she met earlier to get injured, that she started to doubt herself.

I guess to repeat myself, Valfodr for Monster Arena?

I wonder if there is any other person here who has a disdain towards Robots or A.I.s. Besides Junkrat and Roadhog of course

Torbjörn Lindholm, God of Turrets (Torbjörn, Torb)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/torbjorn.png
  • Potential House: Robotics & Machinery
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: His Turret
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral leaning towards Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Abnormal Ammo, Anti-Hero, Racist Grandpa, Artificial Limbs, Badass Beard, Badass Grandpa, Badass Mustache, Cool Old Guy with his peers, Viewed as a paranoid for distrusting sentient AIs and ultimately proven right, The Engineer, Racist againt Omnices, Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Percussive Maintenance, Properly Paranoid, MOLTEN CORE!
  • Domains: Engineering, Weapon Designment, Turrets, Racism
  • Followers: Heimerdinger
  • Allies:
  • Friendly Rival: Dell Conagher
  • Enemies: Reaper, Widowmaker, Ragnaros, Relius Clover, Dr. Eggman
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Bastion, Optimus Prime
  • Opposes: Any ascended Sentient Robot or AI regardless of alignment
  • Odd Friendship: Luigi
  • Torbjörn Lindholm is a former Overwatch operative known for having designed the finest weapons and equipments that the modern world uses. In the past Torbjörn was hesitant when his superiors decided to use Sentient AI and was called a paranoid for thinking that the machines would get out of control one day. Sadly Torbjörn was right, not only the machines rebelled and caused havoc, but Torbjörn himself was recruited in a special Task force team to deal with said creations. Even to this day, Torbjörn doesn't trust omnics and after the downfall of Overwatch, he has made his mission to shut down anyone who dares to use his creations and starting another crisis.
  • Initially his title was taken by The Engineer, but after discovering that Torbjörn not only fully dedicated himself to using a turret, but all of his equipment is built around his "baby". The engineer kindly conceded the spot to the swedish engineer, but they still mantain a friendly rivarly even after Torbjörn's ascension.
  • Torbjörn has a really big case of Fantastic Racism against Robots, understandable since the Omnic Crisis has left a big scar in his mind. But when he learnt that the House he was assigned for was almost completely full of Robots, he was very upset. Bystanders say that Torbjörn was screaming "No no no no no no NO! N. O. NO!!" and frantically running around until his friends calmed him down. However, he put a sign in front of his temple which said "Any tin can that decides to enter my house will be properly dealt with"
    • Of course, Torbjörn doesn't agree with Optimus Prime's motto of "The Right of all Sentient being" and he likes to remind him that, even though the Autobots don't mean any harm, he will still not trust them.
    • It should be noted that Torbjörn is fine if the aforementioned robot really is not sentient at all, which is like what his turrets does, 'Built to serve' and all. If the robot requires piloting to even do activity, he's fine.
  • Being a engineer, Torbjörn has met a lot of engineers as well and got to see what they can do with their creations. In particular he gets to hang out a lot with Isaac Clarke, who he used to serve as a follower.
    • He also got to meet Tails, who Torbjörn believes that he has great potential and decided to tutor him in the mastery of engineering, exhibiting a rare side of him that only his closest friends know. And when he heard about Dr. Eggman's exploits and how he turned animals into robots, he was furious. He believes that no one deserves to be turned into a Tin Can and declared that he put a stop to his plans once and for all.
  • In spite of his stature and looks, he'll gruffly remind you that he's not a dwarf. He finds Muradin Bronzebeard an okay guy, though.
  • Erik, Olaf and Baelog initially thought that Torbjörn was another fellow Viking given their similar accents but in truth they were confused by all the gear that he carries. While they are good friends, both Olaf and Baelog like to joke that Erik finally found a friend of his size.
  • Many people are annoyed that Torbjörn has a tendency to make the camera work the wrong way when he's supposed to be doing glorious table-turning event, it was his turret doing his job, while he's 'dead'. This strange occurances made Torbjörn befriend Luigi, who is also known to win games without doing absolutely nothing.
  • He has access to a special mode called "Molten Core" where he overheats his forge gaining a lot of armor and upgrading his turret in the process. And he is very resiliant to damage, so whenever you hear "MOLTEN CORE!", you are probably going to die a quick death by turret.
    • Those who have witnessed Torbjörn's transformation may have noticed that he looks like a small Ragnaros the Firelord, who also happenned to live in the Molten Core. Torbjörn on his part doesn't like the comparison, the farther he stays away from the destructive elemental lord the better. Not even when Ragnaros was destroying the robots he hated, because the fire lord tends to be indiscriminate that Torbjörn could get caught in the blast.
  • Torbjörn got a little panicked when he heard there's a Sven in the Pantheon. Thinking it was his scientist friend that went mad that he attempted to wreck a city with a giant piloted Omnic, Torbjörn attempted to tell him if he steps out of line again, he'll not show mercy... only to find out that it's actually the Half-Meranth Half-Pallid Rogue Knight Sven. Thankfully Torbjörn just left after apologizing without making mentions about his prejudice with Omnics, since it's more likely to trigger Sven to go apeshit on him due to his past.
  • Because of his size (not age), Torbjörn didn't have any luck with ladies, thinking that he's taking advantage of his short size to peek beneath their clothes. He's not that kind of pervert, but sometimes his words accidentally made him look like that.
  • As opposed to his good buddy Reinhardt, Torbjörn gets along better with Kokonoe Mercury since he seems interested in what she can do to his 'babies'. Last time, he was able to make his turret fire off Magitek-powered Hadokens with her help. There is, however, one chink on their friendship: Torbjörn pretty much looks down at any Murakumo units, including Lambda-11, saying that she's no different than those tin cans/Omnics that might cause crisis later. On the other hand, Kokonoe would usually stand up for Lambda from Torbjörn's berating in spite of her questionable uses on her.
    • This in turn makes him hate Relius Clover, whom Torbjörn sees as nothing but an 'unrepentant deadly tin can-making factory', and looks more than likely to give him nightmares, from the Murakumo Units to the automatons made out of his family. And to make matters worse, he accidentally said that within the earshot of Carl Clover, who didn't take his sister being called 'tin can' well. Thankfully Torbjörn managed to run away before he got turned into a volleyball.
  • Has noted that there are quite a lot of deities that sounds suspiciously like him but he pays no attention to them. However, he is really mad that Rumble and Frenzy also share the same voice with him.
  • When it comes to deities, he has no real opinion over them. Even when his name translates to "Thor's bear", he really isn't friends with the God of Thunder himself. However, one deity he respects is Vulcan, who was able to master the art of Turrets before technology was even possible. Torbjörn is understandably amazed at the Smith of the Gods' craftmanship and later they became friends.
  • "Build 'em up, break 'em down!"

[up] Funny thing about Torbjörn is that even though he has clear distant forwards Omnics (especially by turning human's technology against them), he sort of understands why they did it. They are machines; they lack empathy and work on logic. Which he said to Sven who, as a human, should know better what he is doing.

@Whirl: I was thinking of having him as a guardian. He could be an interesting addition to the Tournament.

I guess I'll get on with the Music changes, but before that, a few quick things to ask about:

  • I know that Lady Gaga was suggested to get Costume Porn or Impossibly Cool Clothes, but which one would be better for her?
  • I'm going to move a few Music profiles over to Reworking Gods, though I'm starting to think from that page, should I delete a few gods from the "Deities who need Rework" section? Some of them have been there for a while and I'm starting to think some of them aren't going to get reworked (like Tommyrod for instance)
  • Can Jigglypuff have Face Doodling removed from her or can that be kept? I'm asking since she has two tropes that aren't taken by other deities and she has Forced Sleep, which was mentioned previously.
  • For finalization's sake, would Moonwalk Dance work best as Michael Jackson's replacement trope?

Don Draper, God of Narcissism

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/draper.jpeg
  • Theme Song: Magnificent City
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: A silhouette of him in a bathtub
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: The Barnum Abusive Parents, Anti-Hero, Broken Ace, Bunny-Ears Lawyer, Byronic Hero, The Casanova, Carpet of Virility, Deadpan Snarker, Green Eyes, Indy Ploy, Manipulative Bastard, Nice Hat, The Quiet One, Redemption Failure, Reformed, but Rejected, Tall, Dark, and Handsome
  • Domains: Industry, Trickery, Charm, Trade, Leadership
  • Follwers: Many, but they pay lip service at best and compete for his power at worst.
  • Herald: Peggy Olson
  • Allies: Billy Mays, Roger O. Thornhill, Charlie Harper, Ricky Ricardo
  • Rivals: Segata Sanshiro, Walter White, Jin Kisaragi
  • Opposes: Zuko
  • Opposed by: Panty Anarchy, Mad Moxxi, Bayonetta and other promiscuous women.
  • Pitied by: Hank Hill
  • Respected by: Indiana Jones
  • Conflicting Opinion by: Dr. Perry Cox
  • A follower of Segata Sanshiro, Don Draper nevertheless wanted to be a god himself. He hoped to claim the title of The Barnum. While impressed, The Court of the Gods concluded that he had too much sympathy in some of his customers to qualify. Dejected, Don decided to do it the old-fashioned way: get enough followers to adore him. Incredibly, he managed to pool enough fans to do just that, mainly from many others who were full of themselves.
  • Segato did not fare well as many of his followers deserted him in favor of Don Draper. With that said, he respects the success of his former disciple as well as the show itself.
  • Unlike Segato, he doesn't see Bill Mays as a rival. He admires how the advertiser managed to get so many people to buy his death. He even paid tribute at the time of his death. On the onset of his ascension, Don exchanged ideas on new ways to get customers to buy products.
  • Took the task of advertising the exploits of fellow advertising executive Roger O. Thornhill. Roger had hoped this would convince people not to look to him for spying services. It only put him in even more missions.
  • Has already made an impressive list of ladies he has bedded in the Pantheon in the short time he's been there. Charlie has maintained a more positive friendship with him, partially for feeling bad for his previous experience with other women.
  • With that said, he has gotten a lot of flack from the more promiscuous women in the Pantheon. They point to how he treated Betty and Megan for bedding multiple men despite doing the same to women. Those women made sure to spread the word to discourage other women to sleep with him.
  • Has been accused of playing the field to all the alignment factions in the Pantheon for a quick buck, even the GUAD. It all balances out in an odd way; they all have improved their advertising skills but are no better at recruiting than other factions.
  • Is distraught to find few other deities set in the 50s. The most amiable person from that period was Ricky Ricardo. The advertiser is glad the sitcom dad has the patience to stick around with him.
  • Hank Hill may not be from the fifties, but he knows how it feels to be left being in the times... even if he doesn't approve of many of his lifestyle choices. That and Don has done wonders promoting propane and propane accessories.
  • Don hoped to make amends with his daughter and ex-wife, discussing how to do so with Zuko. Instead, neither woman would accept his apology, claiming the man will never change. Their words echoed true as he blamed Zuko for giving him bad advice. He has now accepted that being an advertiser (and a Narcissist) are the only things he's good at.
  • Goes into arguments with Walter White and his followers over who had the superior show at their times. His advertising skills have given him a slight recruiting edge.
  • Perry Cox would admit this much: few of his followers have done such a compelling job following his style of teaching. He's also impressed in how he managed to keep Peggy Olson his herald after she almost walked out on him. Otherwise the two don't talk to each other much. It works better for Cox that way; he doesn't want to pander to Draper after his ascension.
  • Deities have long acknowledged that he doesn't have any plans when it comes to advertising, instead relying on his talent, audacity and more than a little luck to get things done. Even Indiana Jones admits he's done a good job employing his tactics.
  • Many think that he has learned many of his jerkish attitude from Jin. As usual, neither are grateful or even acknowledge each other. Don's narcissistic attitude is particularly grating to Jin's ears.

Jason Bourne, God of Amnesiac Dissonance ( David Webb, Delta One)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bourne.jpg
  • Extreme Ways
  • Potential House: Mentalism
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: A Glock 17
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (formerly Lawful Neutral)
  • Portfolio: The Atoner, Badass, The Chessmaster, Combat Pragmatist, Genius Bruiser, Genre Savvy, Nerves of Steel, Omniglot, The Paragon Always Rebels, Wouldn't Hurt a Child, Dark Is Not Evil
  • Domains: Combat, Espionage, Good, Memory, Tactics
  • Followers: Alita/Gally, Akira, Poldarn, Thomas
  • High Priest: Douglas Quaid
  • Herald: Aaron Cross
  • Allies: Roger O. Thornhill, Lisbeth Salander, The Machine
  • Rivals: James Bond, Austin Powers
  • Enemies: Jason Voorhees
  • Opposes: Nick Fury, Samaritan, HYDRA, Cobra Commander, Eliphas
  • Odd Friendship: John Wick
  • Pities: River Tam, James Howlett / Wolverine, Laura Kinney/X- 23
  • The origins of Jason Bourne's appearance is just as mysterious as his past. One day at the helicarrier, Nick Fury got word from his herald Maria Hill. A highly dangerous target has arrived at the Pantheon with no one knowing how he got there. He sent some agents to confront the man. A few minutes later, Fury received a call from the man himself. He urged the spymaster not to follow him; he would know.
  • James Bond didn't even need to be informed to confront the man. He had long awaited the day the two would meet. A cat-and-mouse game ensued, which eventually led to a confrontation. While Bourne had better fighting skills, Bond's gadgets kept him at his toes. Bourne managed to get away, but it was far from their last encounter. They remain rivals in the box office as well, with the newcomer successfully making a mark in pop culture. Bond even adopted some of Bourne's tactics in his latest films when Daniel Craig was his avatar.
  • Thinks that Austin Powers is too eccentric to be a spy. Nevertheless, their rivalry is not nearly intense as with Bond. Powers is much more sympathetic to his plight and is more likely to be lenient towards Bourne's activities.
  • Heroic spies aren't the only ones interested in bring Bourne in. HYDRA have made multiple attempts to capture him. Many fear of what a Bourne HYDRA agent would be capable of. Luckily, he has done a good job in avoiding getting caught.
    • Cobra has expressed similar interests in brainwashing him to their side, with similar failure.
  • Is one of the few deities that do not reside in his official temple. The only times that he does visit are brief encounters. Instead, he creates makeshift ones of his own in order to avoid detection. He prefers to meet his followers instead to help them out.
  • During his usual evasion from the authorities, he ran into Roger Thornhill under a similar predicament. It has happened many times, with Jason helping the man out whenever he can. Bourne has promised to find a way to remedy this.
  • One would think that Bourne wouldn't like the company of a former mobster. In fact, the two share pity over trying their best to get over their pasts, as well as dealing with those who want to bring them back into the fold. So far they have declined to battle over who is the better fighter, a request urged by their followers.
  • Lisbeth doesn't like to deal with government agents, but trusts Bourne enough to deal with physical threats. She has promised to aid him into finding out more about his past as well as disrupting surveillance systems.
  • Some followers have turned to Samaritan to help track down Bourne. The Knight Templar AI has proven to be one of his most challenging foes, rending evasion all but impossible. Thankfully, his followers fail to compare to him in combat. It was the Machine that helped Bourne get some fake identities to avoid detection. Indeed, many of the Machine's allies have experience hiding from public.
  • While he was in a restaurant, he witnessed a tiny girl wreaking havoc on some thugs. Her crewmates tried to calm her down and got their asses kicked for it. Bourne decided to give it a try. Never could he have imagined just how ruthless the girl fought. After an intense fight, she had him at her misery. But the fight was enough to tire her out. Mal thanked him before offering to mend his wounds. River Tam apologized for the attack, explaining she underwent Mind Rape. He felt sorry for the girl for suffering a similar fate. The two now keep in touch every once in awhile.
  • There seems to be many in the Pantheon who were turned into killing machines. He gave out his condolences to both Wolverine and his clone X-23. With that said, they don't meet that much.
  • Many of his enemies have been followers of Eliphas, willing to do everything in their power to serve their government. Bourne has made it clear to the Radiant that he will never join his forces again.
  • Every once in awhile (especially on Friday the 13th), Bourne gets attacked by a stoic figure wearing a hockey mask and wielding a machete. Some research revealed his name is also Jason. He guesses that the being is interested in taking his head as a trophy. He may be slow, but is one of the more difficult foes to shake off.

Maria Cross has been deleted and Michael Jackson's title has been changed to Moonwalk Dance.

I'm starting to think that one I get the sandboxes for the Music subhouses up, some of the text on some of the profiles might need to be changed or deleted (for starters, I think the mentions of Justin Bieber on some of the profiles may need to be deleted since a while back, it was decided that "Pantheon Persona Non Grata", whatever that was, got deleted; also the mention of him on the main Pantheon Music page was deleted by approval).
