"It's me, the racetrack maker!"
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.I like Ridler's new look. It reads are more 'mad' and 'crazy' to me. A lot more intimidating than 'balding middle aged man' as he was in Arkham City.
And I like Ivy's new look to. She looks more like a woman/human than the previous games with BRIGHT RED AND GREEN. There's a green undertone to her skin, the leaves look more faint and almost like tattoos. Her hair looks more natural.
I preferred her looking less human. It felt more "comic book" and less "Nolan North films." Which I'm sick of.
Seeing this kind of move towards the "Gritty realistic" look is kinda making me frown a bit.

Good point about Scarecrow falling into Killer Croc's lair... I'd forgotten about that detail. Would also explain why he's not as mobile-looking in the trailers either. But what do you guys mean by Scarecrow's master plan being indicated in Arkham City all along? I don't recall seeing any clues to that.
I prefer Ivy looking more or less normal with a touch of uncanny plantlike features rather than looking outright inhuman. Though either way I can't think of many depictions of her that are as infused with flora as the Arkham version. Usually she balances out at merely being green unless she's going through some kind of mutation, even in the comics.
And either way, it looks fine - though I still think the Knight version looks far better. The only thing I never liked about Ivy in the Arkham games is her stupid outfit, which she still has in Knight, so meh.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Thorn: Christopher Nolan. Nolan North is the guy who voices Penguin.
Ricko: You could find Scarecrow's lair in Arkham City, where he was clearly testing something, and if you solved the codes in the radio messages listing numbers in a creepy voice, you discover the message "I will return, Batman. You will pay for what you have done to me. Fear will tear Gotham City to shreds."
The character designs throughout the Arkham series has always been over the top, which has been somewhat detrimental to itself. Batman: Arkham Origins, made by a different studio, toned a lot of that down and that made it, artistically, a better game for me (Although the Rocksteady games are more technically polished). The look and portrayal they gave Bane in Origins is easily the best version of the character ever made. But they had to link it to the rest of the series and that hurt the final product.
I noticed Firefly in the trailer, sporting his Origins design. So I'm hoping the game has taken some notes from what Origins did well.

Oh, that was the other thing from the trailer that got me excited. That they brought in Firefly. Like they're really not planning on leaving any of the loose ends dangling.
Anyone think that Azazel will appear?

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. Not sure if you actually do mean Azazel, the demon from Sandman, or just misspelled Azrael, the Batman supporting character who has already shown up in the series...

Ivy spent all of her time in Arkham Asylum photosynthesising in a repurposed gas chamber, and in Arkham City she was was still hiding in a closed-off building. It's well possible that they're gonna explain her change in appearance with exposure to sunlight and fresh air, or whatever, if they feel a need to do so.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.I have to admit, I barely noticed the difference. It's not particularly drastic if you ask me. Certainly less so than the redesigns Bane and Scarecrow have gone through.
Ivy and Riddler look great, Harley seems cuter (maybe it's the lack of a mask), and I don't see any real difference with Penguin or Two-Face.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).It could just be Art Evolution too. Modified body proportions, subtle body movement and more expressive faces can make the character feel different even if there isn't that much of a difference between still images.

She seems more... suggestive? Playful? Or maybe she's back to her old self, minus one Joker.
Like before, she was dressed in a skimpy nurse outfit, but it was all part of being "Joker's little boo". In Arkham City she upgraded to a "tough chick" look. When Joker died, she'd gone Darker and Edgier, she was pissed off.
Now she's not pissed off, now she's legit having fun. The way she flips the cop's hat up after shooting him, her gait, plus "being a playable character means you'll do a lot more fighting and be considerably more Bad Ass than usual".
Taking away Joker is quite possibly the worst thing you can do to Harley Quinn.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Kinda ironic, innit. Joker was the one to empower her, but he was also the one who kept her on a leash, if only because he needed a puppy to kick around .
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Says who? The Endgame comic? No offense, but chances are the comic probably isn't canon. After all, in an issue of Arkham Unhinged, Black Mask stated his mask was fused to his face after his first fight with Batman and his mask was removable in Origins and it was clear they'd encourtered each other before that game.
Troper Wall — DeviantArtLittle reminder: The Lazarus pit in Gotham was corrupted by Clayface's mud, which is why Joker died in the first place at the end of Arkham City. I think "Joker was sent all the way around the planet to another conveniently placed Lazarus pit and revived" sounds a bit too far-fetched for Rocksteady-level quality of writing.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Origins was made by a different studio. It makes sense that they would make mistakes in regards to what is canon and what isn't, ESPECIALLY with material that wasn't in the games but a side comic.
Considering Joker being cremated is something Rocksteady themselves said and they are the ones doing Arkham Knight, it stands to reason that its still going to be true in game and we have absolutely NO reason to think otherwise at the present.
And, honestly, if they bring back the Joker AGAIN, I will scream in angry writer frustration because that's one thing I did like about Arkham City and its one thing I hated about Arkham Origins. Yes, I know its a Prequel, but I still hated having the Joker as a main villain again when it was the chance for some lesser known guys to take the spot light.

Joker totally was the main villain of Arkham City, though. Strange and Ra's were more like the villains of the framing device.
And Rocksteady has stated that Origins is canon, so that means it's possible that Endgame isn't.
Troper Wall — DeviantArtBlack Mask gets the mask fused to his face in Blackgate. Anyway what are the chances of Black Mask showing up and being more then a cameo.
Yeah, but that was after he fought Batman for the first time and like I said, it didn't seem like it was Bruce's first encounter with him in Origins

I don't like what they did to Riddler. He no longer looks like a super arrogant mad genius, he looks like he either wants to challenge Batman to a go kart race or that he's planning on hitting the bars to try out this "negging" thing he heard so much about.
