Games that would be good but would never be made for whatever reasons?

A game of sorts: one tells ideas for a something (an already existing franchise or something new), that has potential to be acclaimed by the public, but there's a "problem" that makes it unappealing for its creators. The trouble can consist, but it's not limited to (try to list one or more reasons): the creators are just human and can only make so much work; they are greedy; it would require too many resources (money, time) and thus be impractical, it breaks a "tradition" (i.e. X would not be X anymore, as in They Changed It, Now It Sucks!).

This is not about complaining, it's about Constructive Criticism. Or it would, there's a reason such game would never be made.

I'll put the first example A Pokémon game where it's possible to catch every Pokémon. This includes started pokémon, and event-exclusives (such as Celebi, Darkrai). It would make the Gotta Catch 'Em All easily possible (given enough time). It would never be made because trading pokémon (version-exclusives or others) is a charm of the franchise, and event-exclusives are useful for promotion of the movies.

So let's start the brainstorming!

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky does let you recruit every Pokemon available for all generations at the time, though...

[up] I was thinking more of a main series game (black and white, b2w2, x and y, etc).

I want a new Ganbare Goemon game in English. Unfortunately, on top of the fact that the series hasn't had a new game since 2005 (unless you count pachinko slot machines), the series hardly ever made it to American shores before to begin with, probably largely due to the difficult to translate Japanese humor. As much as people loved Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and Goemon's Great Adventure, I don't think Konami's American division would be willing to take the risk on a game with such a cult following... In this case, it's not so much a game that would never happen as it is a localization that would never happen.

A 1990s-style twitch/deathmatch FPS with a decent random map generator for both singleplayer and multiplayer. Will never be made because studios find team-based FPS games, and planned obsolescence through limited replayability, to be far more lucrative.

(Also, in before someone says 'Half-Life 3'.)

Please don't use this thread to try to sneak in stealth-complaining about existing games that you don't like...

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
