I like that these actors are taking some effort to get more familiar with the characters' featured comics for this. It really shows the effort that goes into trying to do justice to the source material.
Never been a big Firestorm fan, but this sounds rad. Fire head confirmed.
Corgis are a Welsh bread. I'm delicious.Firestorm's basically a Reality Warper. I'll wait to see how that goes.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Well.... kind of yet not like how most people think of reality warpers.
It is funny, however, that his rogues gallery is SOOOO much better known than him.
I've noticed that too. Out of sheer curiosity, how did that happen?
My AO3Well according to Waid's recaps of the episodes, you can thank Geoff Johns for all the Firestorm characters in this show, he's apparently a huge fan of the character. Killer Frost had some pretty prominent appearances in the comics recently within DC's Forever Evil event.
Sort of like what Robbie Amell says, Firestorm is a character a lot of people know OF, but not a lot of people know ABOUT.
Corgis are a Welsh bread. I'm delicious.I think writers really like Killer Frost for some reason. She's made a lot of random in otherwise unrelated adaptations in the past few years, with or without Firestorm.
Including this show, now that I think of it.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I know OF Firestorm because he was in an incarnation of the Superfriends that had reruns on Boomerang.
I didn't even know he had a personal rogues gallery. From my perspective, Killer Frost was just one of D Cs MANY random ice-based villains. She's shown up in JLU and Young Justice but for some reason Firestorm has not.
The Blog The ArtI remember Firestorm from the Brave and the Bold.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Pretty much the only place I know Firestorm from as well.
Yeah, I find it weird that Killer Frost is so popular and appears so much more. Guess her awesome villain name captured people's minds. And she's been in YJ in two episodes, I swear she was in Justice League, and perhaps Bt Ba B. But I don' ever remember her in an ep with Firestorm. Heck, Firestorm wasn't even referenced in YJ (to my knowledge).
My AO3Firestorm was also in an episode of Robot Chicken. He was lumped together with B'Dg and Mister Banjo.
(V)(;,,;)(V)To be frank I'm surprised Captain Marvel's been getting more exposure than Firestorm all things considered. After reading some parts of Blackest Night as well as Crisis on Infinite Earths, along with my memory of the Superfriends, I was under the impression that he was a bigger deal but at some point the execs at DC just stopped caring about him.
Which, upon reflection seems odd since his superpower is "Instant alchemy". On the one hand it's over-powered as hell but on the other hand, that is SO COOL and yet you want to focus on "Magic Superman?" I mean, no offense to Captain Marvel, I love the kid, but uh, Flying Alchemy man with the mind of two people? Yes please, adapt him more often.
I look forward to his involvement in Flash if he comes up.
The Blog The ArtIsn't DC's Captain Marvel just Shazam now? I guess its like MM being push aside for Cyborg, a sign of the times.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Shazam/ Captain Marvel was actually an incredibly big deal back in the day, even eclipsing Superman in popularity for a while. He's still got legs.

I only partially apologize for the extreme geekery that is about to result...
Well part of it is that they really did come up with some AWESOME villains for match-head. (as you can imagine you'd have to in order to contend with the guy) There's a lot of filler villains (like Plastique) that show up just about everywhere when teams need filling out. It's a bit of a drinking game we fans like to play.
Well 1) She is an ice-based chick, so you know T&A always will draw in some writers. ;) But what I think is the deal is that 2) she was actually written and created so that her ice powers were logical. The deal with killer frost is that she's a heat vampire, she's always cold and is trying to get warm, thus her abilities make a smidgen more sense than a lot of the first generation ice folk. Plus there's the fun in that often the way to defeat her WAS to throw her into an ice box so she couldn't absorb heat. Thus the "ice prison" she is usually kept in isn't a motif or necessity (like Mr Freeze's) but an actual story reason for keeping her jailed.
Firestorm was in some background shots and throwaway lines in JLU.
Come! Join us... Fan the flame! =D
If you didn't catch it, Killer Frost had a FANTASTIC origin issue last year with DC's "Villains Month" gimmick, written by Sterling Gates. Gates then went on to write her teaming up with Steve Trevor in the ARGUS miniseries tie-in to Forever Evil. it was a really nice piece of characterization and it's a shame that it also wound up being on of the many plot threads that was forgotten when that event wrapped up. I'd love to see them do something with her in the comics again.
Corgis are a Welsh bread. I'm delicious. And Mr. Freeze's Ice prison isn't just a motif, he needs to be in Sub-zero temperatures to survive and they're trying to imprison him, not murder him.
still though, now that I know about her, Killer Frost is actually really cool. So the murderous serial killer thing she had going on in JLU actually makes no sense.

Hold the phone... Ronnie is Debbie Burwick's dead fiancé!? ( Sorry, I only know the actress as that annoying girl from Phil Of The Future Upon further research it turns out that she is actually the Older sister of that Actress. My god, they're practically twins!)
.... Man, that is going to be on helluva revival when he re-atomizes but needs to grab a nearby professor in order to do it.
The Blog The ArtHey speak for yourself.
Well the other thing I forgot to mention is that KF is also a rarity in that she's a legacy villain. There's been... 3 or 4 different ones now, I'd have to double check JLU as they might have chosen one of the later ones (or even an earlier one but put her in a later outfit, the first was kind of crazy).
But yeah, in my review of episode 2 I ended up gushing for a bit over all the tributes and sly winks at the comic fans the show has been doing especially towards match-heads.
Ah, well, each to their own I guess.
I do remember hearing the first being crazy in a sort of "I am totally in love/obsessed with you, main hero" sort of way...
And I suppose I am slightly a bit of a Firestorm fan. It's a little hard to not like and sympathize with a guy when you watch your zombie predecessor SLOWLY TURN YOUR GIRLFRIEND INTO SALT.
The Blog The ArtOh don't even get me started on the whole Jason/Ronnie/Blackest Night thing...
The other good thing about FS is that he has a large supporting cast too so it could be cool to see if Firehawk or Pozhar or anybody else shows up. I'd even get a kick out of seeing Jason appear on the Flash, maybe as the elemental Firestorm for kicks and giggles.
Two contrasting WMGs:
The professor recruited Barry's support team beacuase, being from the future he knows they're going to become villains.
or
The show is going to reverse polarities and make them heroes and Firestorm a villain, or at least an out of control Tragic Monster.
Trump delenda estI thought Vibe was a Hero.
(V)(;,,;)(V)He is? I am actually completely unfamiliar with the character. I will take your word for it.
Trump delenda est
Nice! It was a feature in the comic that while it was Ronnie's body that was physically firestorm, Martin could take over in certain conditions.
Man I am PUMPED!
