Yeah, that's a good summation.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenI'm not sure if I'll ever be able to get into games like this and Day Z, that only seem to work if people act like assholes towards each other. Sure, they make for entertaining Youtube vids, but I don't think I can get in on that sort of mentality. I actually like people too much for that.

And I hate other players far, far too much to get into these games. I'm a single player type through and through.
One of the advantages here is that there is local voice chat. Sure, there are crazies and assholes, but 'whoah, who ah, don't shoot! We're not hostile!' Saved bloodshed for me a lot.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenSo, apparently this game has straight up Male Frontal Nudity for realism purposes. That's interesting to note by virtue of it being one of the few video games in existence to go that far without censorship. The playerbase's reaction (at least on Steam) is to fill up the screenshots section with pictures of naked cavemen (because Naked People Are Funny, I guess). Make me wonder how they'd react if female characters became playable and just as naked.
The way it is now is that there is censorship by default. You have to enter a command to uncensor the models. Customizable avatars is on the list of things to do, so female survivors might be a thing.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenThis game seems, rather silly, I think I shall watch it develop for a bit. Would be nice if they found a way to fix the murderhobo problem of people with AR-16s
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Just blew $19.99 on this to find that my computer barely runs the damn thing >_<
Can You Run It is your friend.
I saw a couple of videos of this game. It looks pretty cool, and the new PC I'm planning to get would run it fine, but I don't think I want to blow $20 on a game that's still in alpha. I'd rather wait for a sale and/or full version.
Join my forum game!So is this a game or a social experiment?
Bleye knows Sabers. It can run decently on my crap PC if I turn a lot of the options off.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenSo, the videos and screenshots I'd seen gave me the impression that the map was randomly generated. However, now I find out that it's a single large, fixed map. That's a bit disappointing. Does anyone know if the people making this game are intending to feature randomly generated maps in the final version?
Join my forum game!I don't think so, but the map is so big. More maps are coming, also.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenI'd say yes.
There was an update today, finally removed the zombies. Haven't yet experimented with the replacements, which are wolves and bears.

I'm very surprised that we don't have a page for this already, or even a topic. The creators took a look at Day Z and decided to build an approximation high on building and low on pregeneration and zombies. I'll just leave a summation of my first experiences I wrote elsewhere here:
"I tentatively approve of Rust. I had the terrifying encounter of being trapped in my shack while two griefers, one singing Hooked on a Feeling off-key and the other beating down my door with a hatchet while trying to coerce me into opening the door.
The entire time I had my back to the wall of my shack, balancing between calling for help from the friendly neighbor who helped me after another griefer found me with my face in a crafting interface, and aiming the pistol he gave me at the door. This game certainly has room to grow. People, however, do not."
The game can be found on Steam Early Access. The Rust site has an update blog.
