Best new show I've seen in a while, it's basically The Thing meets... well, The Thing. Anyone manage to check it out?

  • raises hand* Lotta mystery in this. What's the virus do? Did someone commission it? Is Peter fully in control or is the virus making him do things? Can our CDC crew keep control and find a cure? Is the really annnoying, snarky fat chick going to die eventually? (I see what they were going with with her, but not every fat woman is Megan Mullaly.)

And we're going to need a disambig page for this. Searching for Helix brought up some halfass Marvel Universe fanfic. On the darth wiki section of the site, yet.

I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117

She said "frak" early on so I assumed she was from the Dramatic Whispering Show. She is really annoying. I'll also call it now, she's a Cylon.

Something about Peter unnerves me, he has like this Frankenstein's monster jaw or something. The virus also reminds me of the Filth from The Secret World, which is half the reason I'm watching the show.

Everyone I watched it with thought she was great, and were constantly terrified she'd die.

I like the snarky big lady. She amuses me.

Like a little dancing monkey. No not that dancing monkey. The non-face hugger kind of monkey.

The infected are actually pretty creepy as is the virus in the throat thing.

Makes me wonder what the virus really is. I think it is a run away bio weapon project of some sort.

I like the snarky fat chick. And Peter and the other infected are really unsettling. This show looks like it has promise (then again it should, what with the collective minds behind LOST and X-Files).

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial

It is not something that I would normally watch but I thought it was pretty good based on the Pilot and Vector.

I still need to watch the 3rd episode it is already on On Demand from Xfinity.

Just finished watching the third episode and coming out of tvtropes lurking to comment on the fact that blondie definitely seems to be holding the idiot ball when she decides not to tell her boss about super freaky viral growth. But aside from that complaint, I'm enjoying the show.

She does seem to be suspicious of Dr. Farragut in a way that the narrative needed to better justify, but if I were in her shoes I'd be telling Balleseros what he wanted to hear as well. She's smart enough to know he can't be trusted, and to not pretend that he's beyond suspicion, but she also seems to legitimately like him, which I can relate to. He's actually fairly amiable.

I do think it'll lead to her death, but I feel there's not too much she could do about that at this point.

I'm liking it so far. It seems everyone's holding the idiot ball to some degree but the mystery seems tight and I feel like it's going somewhere. OF course I could say the same thing about the first three episodes of lost...

I do feel like the entire plot could be solved by liberal application of socket wrench therapy to a certain scientist's face until he spills the beans but I somehow doubt that's in the cards.

Well, not yet. Someone may grab him by the neck, hold up a syringe and scream "TALK OR I TURN YOU INTO PETER!" sometime in the series.

And did I see Jeri Ryan in the "coming soon to Helix" montage? Cute blonde, somewhat evil smirk on her face? Maybe the Bigger Bad?

That was Ryan. Unfortunately she's only in two episodes, I think.

Watched third episode, really praying the show won't run on an Idiot Plot. There's a lot of promise here and I like what it's doing.

Anyone else still following this? I feel that the stupidity is toned down a lot in the past few episodes. Events feel like they're leading to some sort of conclusion but since I'm still not even sure what the hell is going on that might just be optimism on my part.

Show seems to be at its best when playing with the Soundtrack Dissonance. Like the scene with Farragut and Sarah working in the lab set to the song from the Nutcracker Suite. Or the hallucination dinner party.

Double post!

I'm trying to get caught up with the show, on episode seven right now. I was watching it with my sister and her boyfriend but they weren't that interested in the show.

This is harder than it should be. Sci Fi's site doesn't keep up to date with the episodes and On Demand has weird gaps.

Someone talk me into watching the last 2 eps of this show. The whole "immortals" thing has put me off, and I'm not sure I'm watching season 2. (I'll be shocked if Helix doesn't get cancelled in the off-season.)
